I discovered the Chariot's breakup video at the end of a 20 hour work day. I was completely sleep deprived and already on the verge of a meltdown. The chariot was and still is my favorite band, and I discovered their farewell tour announcement through a mutual friend. I lost my mind. Then I discovered they were playing in Buffalo, New York on my 19th birthday. I made the 5 hour drive with a few friends. I stood front row the entire concert. Josh, himself, wished me a happy birthday. It was the perfect ending for my experience with The Chariot. So, thank you, to The Chariot, The Waiting Room in Buffalo NY, and everyone in that room on October 21st, 2013. You have no idea the impact you had on this complete stranger's life. Long Live.
Man, I've watched all of the Chariot videos on here several times. I' was a huge fan of Norma Jean, and when Josh left and started the Chariot I loved the first album and they lost me after that. But I came back to them after they broke up and listened to everything they've done and I can't believe how good it all is. Because they were so good I gave Norma Jean's stuff post-Josh a chance, also very solid stuff, wish I'd seen The Chariot play, I might actually catch Norma Jean next month for their Redeemer 10 year tour.
When Josh Scogin was in a band called Luti-Kriss back in 99/2000, I was there. When he left Norma Jean and the Chariot came forward, I was there. When they played their final show in Douglasville, I was there. This band has meant so much to me and so many people because they said the things that each of us were afraid to say and kept the passion alive in a dying culture. They lifted us up and pushed us to the edge. They implored us all to be better people. To speak with the wrath of grace and love. Because of the Chariot, my closet holds no bones and this film has captured the heart and soul of that which we can only describe as the Chariot. There's no way to put into words what it was like to be there because if you weren't there, you'll never understand. The closest anyone may come in the future is to watch this video and hope to experience anything like it in their short time on this earth. Much love to the folks who put this together. Victory is such a lonely word. Long Live.
This may be the single best filmed and edited and overall music documentary / behind the scenes I have seen in my life. What an incredible piece of art for an absolutely timeless band.
Chad Every I couldn't have said it better. I cried for a solid 30 minutes straight. This is such an amazing tribute to such an eternal band. I am so humbled by their passion... how can I ever come close?
In the world entire, when the noise is all complete. No one claps their hands, And no one stomps their feet. When every drum is punctured, and all the cymbals broken. I usually can't stand when people try to invoke the name of others in their art or words, but this was truly beautiful and absolutely got to the heart of the matter.
They need to reunite. With all these early 2000’s bands reuniting and putting records out I think it only makes sense these dudes just get back together one last time and give us a record.
The Chariot was something I desperately needed in my teenage years. The booking agent in my hometown had these guys in a lot, and it became church for me to go see them play. The energy in those rooms was just unbelievable. Sometimes it was literally less than 50 people, but it felt like we could be heard anywhere in the world. When Josh would come up and say, "This microphone is your microphone, this stage is your stage", it unlocked something in me that was dying to get out. These men were also incredibly kind and happy to share a few words with a young fan like me whenever I got the courage to ask. The Chariot taught me that it's okay to have big questions and big feelings and to let them out. Thank you to all those involved.
I was at their last show, it was a life changing experience to say the least. took a 17 hour drive down from NYC with one of my best friends to see it. Not 1 single regret...
There may never be a band like The Chariot ever again. They truly defined what it means to write music and perform for an audience. The energy, creativity, and raw emotion they brought to everything they did is something that can't be matched. Long Live that fucking band 🤘
Not afraid to admit that I cried like a little baby when I heard "And Shot Each Other". What an incredible moment in my life. Thank God I was so blessed to see them live. LONG LIVE THE CHARIOT!!!!
I was fortunate to see the chariot live back in 2006, at a small venue i used to work for. I was also in Rehabilitation with Josh's brother, who i built a friendship during my rehab stint. He recognized my chariot shirt and began talking to me about their youth and Josh's life. I gave him my chariot shirt and we kept in touch for a good while. I wonder if he's still doing well. If you happen to read this dude, i hope you're still sober Michael. And Josh thank you for your amazing music.
2021 and I find myself coming back to this documentary once again. God, I miss this band so much. Hope everyone is doing okay in this weird Covid-19 world we live in right now. God bless and Long LIve!
If you made an extended cut with (if available) more interviews/ raw footage of some of the shows in a DVD format, I'd buy it without thinking twice. you'd have my money.
Just as it got to the seven footage, i broke down. This band will forever mean the world to me because they gave me something positive and beautiful to believe in at a time when i was self medicating and surrounding myself with negativity. Every day when i wake up, i glance to my left and see the poster on my wall that stevis and david signed in buffalo around christmas a few years ago and it just makes me smile like an idiot to know that I was apart of something so organic and beautiful. Long live. Be free.
It’s 2022 and all emotions keeps coming back when I watch this. I’ll never stop loving this band! The impact they had on how I approach music can’t be described with words. Amazing band!
I've never cried at something I have watched, and this damn video almost made me. Me and my cousin had taken the road trip to see them in Atlanta, not caring about expenses because we had to see them for the last time.
I'm... 17 years old; I was too kid to go a show of this band (I live in Argentina and cannot travel out of the country alone, because... you know... too young). I didn't have the experience to see this guys in live and broke every part of my body, but... you must know that in my home, I put "The Chariot", close my eyes... and I imagine the mosh pit, the jumps, all the show... and start to feeling something that Im no feeling with any other band. This feeling, accompanied me all my teenage and will accompany me all my life... Thanks guys. Long Live.
I'm still in awe. This band changed my life. I'm a professional musician now, after realizing that life should be used to do something that you feel passionately about. This band helped me realize that. What The Chariot did for us is irreplaceable. I had "Calm Rose : Violent Wind" tattooed on my arm. My only tattoo. Thank you guys for all that you have done. Long Live
This band was definitely an experience. Stage presence like no other. Plus these guys are actually really cool people, they never let their successes get to their heads. If you search around RUclips for their tour videos you will find that they are HILARIOUS and kind individuals and had a blast doing something they loved. Long live, long live, hard times come again no more.
As a musician and as a music photographer, this is beautiful on a whole new level. You somehow captured the chaos and relentlessness that is The Chariot while showing their beautiful, serene, and emotional side as well. Not many people could have done this, and I honestly believe you did justice to the legacy of The Chariot. Well done, my friend. Long Live.
I seen this band at the lime spider in Akron Ohio in 2007. Again at Peabody's in Cleveland in 2010. Still regarded as some of the best shows I've ever seen. Long live brothers. Take care.
I saw The Chariot when I was in 9th grade in an old, rundown fire station in Birmingham, Alabama. I'm almost 21 now. Those memories of going to shows and being a part of DIY music is something I will try to never forget.
Fuck dude I just discovered this band and '68 back in December during a pretty intense problem with opiates. This band and a band called Glass Ocean Stuck with me the whole experience, and eventually I got through it all The Chariot and 68 for my anger and my pain, while Glass Ocean were for my times of tranquility and sadness. It was all a very interesting experience. I learned about my self. And I had some interesting music to burn out the distractions and noise around me to get me through it all. It's sad to find out they broke up but, I'm pretty OK with it. It makes sense. and, they left their creations of sound behind. All I gotta say is thanks camera guy for this film, Thanks to The Chariot for the art. I hope this post doesn't get buried and you all see this. Thanks Fella's.
thank you for making me cry for 56 minutes. i honestly mean that. i hadn't taken the time to think about what the chariot meant to me until i watched your film. when they announced the end of the band i sort of just pushed it aside but this made me face my feelings. the biggest thing i take away from the chariot is the concept of being real, staying true. from the bottom of my black, cold dead little heart, thank you sir for making the film that needed to be made. i wish you the best and to all the chariot fans out there, keep your heads up because the stars are still shining for you. One Love
This video reminds of all the times I had the privilege of seeing them in their element and how grateful I am for the opportunity to just take it all in and lose my mind for an hour at a time. Best live shows I have ever been apart of and I feel sorry for those who simply don't understand, they have no idea what they missed out on. I have a drumstick on my wall from the chariot and I look at it everyday and much like this video it reminds of some awesome, unforgettable times and they all had the chariot as the soundtrack. I think that's pretty cool. LONG LIVE.
My best friend and I came from Washington (near Seattle) to see the final show in Douglasville..... One year later and I still can't believe it's over. One of the best times of my life, thank you for this documentary, it brought me to tears at parts. Long Live
Most genuine/humbling dudes I've met, in Perth, Western Australia we had more than just a show. We went & ate Nandos & then went cliff jumping afterwards, good laughs & good times. Won't forget any of it.
Perhaps the greatest philosophers were once the prized and learned people of a sociological setting of a peple ever-seeking righteousness. Those people, sharing both the revelations and inceptions of our time, are those who care not for their own social standpoint, but the truth they reveal in Love. These gentlemen will be men I will tell my children of. When I reference the idea of beauty within humankind, it is with the most serene peace that I would grasp the concept not only in myself, but over-all for those minds to lead our ideals one day. This ban is a source of that truth. And this band refines and expresses that which we are in pursuit of. And this band wasn't a gratification of anything apart from what would be considered righteous. And they will be so desperately missed for that re-creation of truth. Forget Not, The Chariot.
My old band were so massively inspired (both musically and onstage) by these guys, I'm still not over the fact that they'll never be playing shows again. Long live
6/16/24 7:40pm Father’s Day, anchorage Alaska. 54 years old, 30:14 in…tears rolling down my face. I will never get to see this live. It’s like I’m there.
I help run Schoolhouse Venue in Madison Heights, and am absolutely floored that the good folks from The Chariot would even think to include their time at Schoolhouse in their documentary. We were very blessed to have them there, both nights, and still consider that one of our most successful events. Schoolhouse loves you, dudes.
Stumbled upon this video while reminiscing about how amazing it was to be there. To this day, I have never experienced a show that could rival the energy, passion, and excitement that the chariot brought on stage with them. I still tell the stories and as much as I wish I could do it again, I am thankful that I was able to be there once upon a time. Long live
I've been on this earth for 29 years. Nothing has compared to a live event with the Chariot.... No energy... no spirit...no love... NOTHING compares to what the Chariot put through their crowds.
I have had this on my Watch Later for five or six years now and finally watched it. Holy fuck. Still gave me chills all these years later. I wasn’t able to check out the farewell tour, but seeing them live once within their tenure is a gift. It opened up something inside me, broke in new frames to accept new experiences into. Brilliant doc. Thanks for sharing.
Hey man, thank you so much for this comment, I really appreciate you. I'm sorry you weren't able to see them on their final tour - it was really something else. But hope this gave you at least a little piece of that experience. Cheers
We lived in a world that will never exist again. Hundreds of people crammed into small rooms listening to Josh scream at us and us scream every word back to him.
I didn't find out about the chariot until after they had just finished the last show... I have since bought as much merch, vinyl, banners, stickers, etc. I could find with the Chariot on it.... this band instantly hooked me, but the more I explored the culture, and met the other fans, I am jealous to anyone who had the privilege of experiencing the chariot
I've always loved how they're not up in your face preaching shit like others, it's just human music. It's for everyone and anyone could be a part of it.
years later and I still get choked up about this... I can't even begin to describe my appreciation for this band, but with that said, seeing Josh write his heart out in '68 does bring a sense of closure.
I remember my first chariotshow in a little civic center with like 40 people. One of most impactful shows I've ever been to thanks for 10 years. Long live the chariot!
Thank you so fcking much for this. Never had the chance to watch The Chariot perform live. Since I live a thousand miles away from the states (Philippines). The Chariot's been a big part of my life. Cried after watching this. LONG LIVE!
i saw The Chariot for the first time when they opened for Underoath on their 2013 "Farewell" tour. It was awesome even if The Chariot really did disband soon after. I'm just glad to have the jams now. LONG LIVE
I remember being at Jokers in fayetteville NC when they were touring with GWAR... totally went to see The Chariot only and i remember being front row at the stage and just watching in awe at Josh screaming his heart out at the ensuing chaos
(Sorry not a double post, accidently posted it somehow) I remember being at Jokers in fayetteville NC around 2006 time frame when they were touring with GWAR... totally went to see The Chariot only and i remember being front row at the stage and just watching in awe at Josh screaming his heart out at the ensuing chaos, everything felt like everything was in slow motion and it felt so powerful as he was right there in front of me, every scream just goes straight from my ears trough my spine and just resonates with every part of me. I waited after the show to try and talk to him, I fel that I needed to let him know the way his music resonated with me and thank him for his gift. Unfortunately I never got the chance as he was already engaging in conversation with other people and I stood there for a while but started feeling awkward and didnt want to interrupt, but I wish I had. If you ever see this comment Josh just know that music still moves me exactly the same even 20 years later! I Love and Miss you all. Long Live
I remember sharing my fruit with you guys at Cornerstone 10' You guys are so genuine i love you all dearly and will miss the music and great times going to your shows. Long Live.
If any of you guys read this, know that The Chariot had an amazing impact on my life. I love you for it and love you for the shows we shared together. There will never be another The Chariot, but I'm at peace with that. Long live.
is actually so sad to watch this but at the same time i feel really happy i was able to be part of the last tour... im from Dominican Republic and i remember i asked for my vacations at work just because i needed to see The chariot one last time and my best friend got me tickets as a Bday gift... its funny now how i froze when they played the city since its my favorite song i was just there singing it out fucking loud! AMAZING experience!!!
lickily saw them in arizona. this do makes me cry till this day. but such a peaceful ending. i would do unspeakable things for a reunion tour... unlikely... but i saw 68 with the fall of troy in denver recently.. and it was a breath of fresh air
How I miss those guys... I've seen them live 2 times or so but damn these were one of the greatest shows ever. Even got to talk with some dudes after their show. Long Live.
I discovered The Chariot after seeing 68 live and being impressed. Somehow a little part of me is glad I wasn't ready for this kind of music back then, because I would have been devastated. This moves me so much, there's no single bit that is no perfection and is also one of the films that made me want to make documentaries. Long live, one of the best band that ever existed and for sure one that no one will never be able to replicate.
why you gotta pull at my heartstrings? seeing you guys in madison heights was an honor. thanks for actually listening to all of the bands that played those nights.
I will never be able to believe how much passion this band has. And not just the member every single fan just gives all their heart and their soul to this music. I will definitely never forget all that I got through thanks to this music. God bless all of you, and long live.
The Chariot is my all time favorite band still to this date. This videos gives me the goodbye I wanted. This band will never leave my soul. Seeing them for the first time was life changing. This band will live for ever with me. Long Live.
I will never forget September 23rd, 2010 at the Zydeco in Birmingham, AL. I remember when Stephen stepped down from the stage during And They Shot Each Other, he pushed around everyone in the pit and it was such an emotional experience. Long live.
I was at the Masquerade show and my best friend was at the 7 Venue one. After the final show, he mentioned we should get The Chariot tattoos, and since my first time watching this I got mine. Could not be more proud to immortalize these guys on my arm. Thanks again, Derek.

2023 here and this brings back a wave of good memories. one of the most influential bands in my life. thanks for this doc
Watching in 2021, all the emotions come flooding back. This band was truly something special.
Thanks for still being here : )
in 2022 im coming back to it FORGET NOT
2022, Still jamming to their albums front to back every now and then.
@@Gnarlkill every day for me man they weren’t my first tattoo for nothing

Yes, rewatching this for the third time this year, and when I came here first, I didn't even listen to The Chariot.

Justin Goldsmith cool story
Justin Goldsmith how do you like Josh’s new two piece band ( well not new ) ?
Luti-kriss is Norma Jean
Luti-kriss! Throwing myself is one of my favorite albums and the hissen track at the end is one of my favorites
@@summeronio9751 True, but not true. Luti-kriss was very different in sound.

This is one video that I didn't ever want to end....so sad I didn't get to see them live..I'm blessed to have met Stevis....LONG LIVE.....AMEN.
This needs to be out on DVD. This is a documentary worth owning.
LONG LIVE.
2023 and it still hits the same long live
My best friend and I came from Washington (near Seattle) to see the final show in Douglasville..... One year later and I still can't believe it's over. One of the best times of my life, thank you for this documentary, it brought me to tears at parts.
Long Live
Oh man. All my feels.
Most genuine/humbling dudes I've met, in Perth, Western Australia we had more than just a show. We went & ate Nandos & then went cliff jumping afterwards, good laughs & good times. Won't forget any of it.
Was lucky to see these guys once in upstate NY. Josh is one of my favorite vocalists
Forget Not, The Chariot.
im already ready for the reunion tour documentary
And the tour itself... even though 68 is still good.
Please...
Probably never gonna happen unfortunately. Josh said so in the most recent underoath twitch video

My old band were so massively inspired (both musically and onstage) by these guys, I'm still not over the fact that they'll never be playing shows again. Long live
i wept. i healed. i loved. forget not. long live. thank you so much.
6/16/24 7:40pm Father’s Day, anchorage Alaska. 54 years old, 30:14 in…tears rolling down my face. I will never get to see this live. It’s like I’m there.
Wow your shots of Arizona. Especially the star time lapses.
Checking in in 2021. This still makes me cry. I'm 32.
Long Live.
2024, turn 30 in a month. Probably watch this about once a month.
Long Live.
I miss these guys so much. I will never forget their last shows in San Diego and Anaheim. Long Live The Chariot.
I could watch this documentary a million times. So. Great.
Legendary.
They'll be talking about this band for years and years to come.
Again.
LEGENDARY.
Long live
Happy to have had you there with us. Long live.
I love the little ode to the first chariot documentary with josh jumping of the speakers!
That Toyota Sunrader makes me miss my Toyota Dolphin in such a bad way. Miss'er... Thank you for a great film and tribute.
Words cannot even express how incredible and powerful this band is. Though disbanded, they'll never die. #LongLive
I've always loved how they're not up in your face preaching shit like others, it's just human music. It's for everyone and anyone could be a part of it.
I miss you guys everyday. Every. Single. Day.
years later and I still get choked up about this... I can't even begin to describe my appreciation for this band, but with that said, seeing Josh write his heart out in '68 does bring a sense of closure.
Thank you to The Chariot for being part of my life and thank you for making this beautiful film!
I cried watching this. One of the first bands I really got in to when I got into Hardcore.
All of my online names are based off of this band. So I truly will never forget them, and I am so happy it's what I've chosen.
LONG LIVE THE MUSIC SCENE OF 2005-2010.
Its 2018 and I still miss their music and shows. I wish i had an opportunity to visit any of them.
I remember my first chariotshow in a little civic center with like 40 people. One of most impactful shows I've ever been to thanks for 10 years. Long live the chariot!
I cried. Thank you. Long Live.
This band got me through the most horrible of times. Thank you chariot I love you guys. Long live the chariot.
Seriously just Josh talking about finding peace in the music at the beginning can almost make me cry. I miss these boys so much.
Thank you so fcking much for this. Never had the chance to watch The Chariot perform live. Since I live a thousand miles away from the states (Philippines). The Chariot's been a big part of my life. Cried after watching this. LONG LIVE!
Amazing band
I am amazed at how well they captured the live experience of the chariot!! It is almost impossible to describe
i saw The Chariot for the first time when they opened for Underoath on their 2013 "Farewell" tour.
(Sorry not a double post, accidently posted it somehow)
I remember being at Jokers in fayetteville NC around 2006 time frame when they were touring with GWAR... totally went to see The Chariot only and i remember being front row at the stage and just watching in awe at Josh screaming his heart out at the ensuing chaos, everything felt like everything was in slow motion and it felt so powerful as he was right there in front of me, every scream just goes straight from my ears trough my spine and just resonates with every part of me.
AMAZING experience!!!
tears... guys...THANK YOU. just love all of you.
lickily saw them in arizona. this do makes me cry till this day. but such a peaceful ending. i would do unspeakable things for a reunion tour... unlikely... but i saw 68 with the fall of troy in denver recently.. and it was a breath of fresh air
three years and i still keep coming back to this one every week and cry a lot.
guys, come back. please.
God I wish I was old enough to experience this!!!
The best film i've seen
Thanks for русские субтитры, guys
Amen
Long Live.
I miss this so much. What this band did was special, wholly unique. It will never happen again. And I'll never forget it.
I will never forget September 23rd, 2010 at the Zydeco in Birmingham, AL. I remember when Stephen stepped down from the stage during And They Shot Each Other, he pushed around everyone in the pit and it was such an emotional experience. Long live.
Good job man! From Russia with love. The Chariot Long Live!
I was at the Masquerade show and my best friend was at the 7 Venue one. After the final show, he mentioned we should get The Chariot tattoos, and since my first time watching this I got mine. Could not be more proud to immortalize these guys on my arm. Thanks again, Derek.
