Im using a scarlet 2i2 4th generation interface and a worlds best xlr cable from amazon made with mogami wire., unless there is a issue with something in your setup most modern interfaces sound about the same or at least very close, these days its more about features than which one will sound better, i would this mic is less sibilant than any other condenser that i own and it has a darker sound. something must be off with your setup or its possible the mic has a issue, unfortunate even if you buy from brands with the best quality possible you can sometimes still get a lemon, if other microphones sound normal on your setup i would contact the seller and explain what you have going on.
i don't have any experience with the CV12 but i do know that is a tube mic, so it should have a completely different sound, if you like that tube mic sound this war audio may not be your thing but if you want vintage 87 with a transformer type of sound, this warm audio is great.. but i really cant tell you which is better as i have never used the CV12, i wish i had a better answer for you..
The stellar X2 sounds nice and it has a similar ish sound as long as you stay pretty close tot he X2 , i feel it starts to sound a bit weak if you get a little farther back from the X2, but personally i like this warm audio mic allot better than the X2. when it comes me microphones your results may vary as your voice and room acoustics are different than mine but the warm audio listening some some high end monitors or monitor headphones sounds like on par with a mic in the 3k+ dollar price range.. To me the X2 sounds like a mic that should be a few hundred bucks and i find the distance to the sound source makes a bigger deal than it should on the X2, it starts to thin out a bit if your not really close to my X2, i know someone else who has one that feels the same so its probably not just my copy doing that, the X2 is a nice mic but not as nice in my opinion.. i would suggest watching as many revies of the WA87 R2 as you can find if your a bit unsure if its worth it to you or not.
@@dannylightning-audio-reviewsThis was a very well written reply and I’m very grateful for it! I think I’m gonna buy it! I have the stellar x2 but I think the WA87 R2 should be a step up!

Owned one of these a few years ago. Sold it and I highly regretted it. Soooo I definitely hopped on this killer deal
selling something and wondering why you did it later always sucks but im glad you can get sone again, this really is a good deal.
What are you running yours through? Mine sounds so bright and sibilant! I can’t stand the sound but yours sounds amazing

Would you recommend this as opposed to stellar x2? I want the best mic possible for vocals under $500
