I enjoyed the CGI, the monsters, the great scenery, and the adventure of escape/avoiding danger. The voices at times were not clear, a bit muffled. The story could benefit from a little more character development so I could feel and sense their issues/problems and identify more with their inner world. But overall, I enjoyed the production. Very imaginative. It held my interest/attention. Nice job!
Thanks for the honest feedback! Yes, in this film audio was a challenge. I unfortunately was using a condenser mic for a good portion of the film. In post production I have to roll off the highs to avoid hissing and the subsequent noise reduction will cause audio to not be as clear as it should be. I have since purchased a better shotgun mic which I did use for the narration and voice overs however, I will use this mic primarily in future projects. Okay, first off, I really want one of those vehicles. Whatever it's usually used for, it looks fun! 3 mins ish, no spare tyre? 12 mins ish, why blow up a building you could shelter in? Anyway, my main takeaway from this, fantastic cinematography. The big landscape stuff was really well framed. So, a post apocalypse, survival, superhero premise? Why not. This could easily develop into a multi-strand series.
Thank you for the honest review. First off yes, no spare tire. I wanted the bad guy to walk to give the main characters some space in the story. And at 12 minutes he accidentally blew up the building with powers he didn't know he had at the time. Thank you so much for watching!

How did the father feed the baby without resources until it could eat solid food? I'm impressed with the special effects on such a small budget though.
The music and filmography are excellent (on par with big-budget productions), the acting solid. Would have liked a bit more chemistry between father and daughter like they showed in the final scene, especially after having overcome so much hardship together. Overall quite enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your passion and talents with us.
As a parent when I say to my children DON'T MOVE. I mean that they must stay where they are. I don't like it when children disobey my rules. I plan for every possible situation.
Had my interest up until the super powers bud. But keep reading please. If I might add, you have great potential if you can take this on a more realistic level? Same cast but more so as wondering survivors who fight maybe for water supply or something. Your city effects are excellent! The asteroid hit scenes. Nicely done! Dragon effects would have been better I think if you darkened the scenes more post apocalypse background and sky, dreary or raining and storming? I was OK on those. It was the super powers parts that I give you thumbs up and thumbs down if you don't mind my honest feedback as a fellow low budget action indie feature film director. Your cover poster drew me IN! Love it too! Great artwork. Ever consider a redo without the super hero addition, let me know, I'd be interested in watching any redo. Nothing against your super hero cast. Adding more hand to hand combat skills like book of Eli is where I'm taking mine. Called The Last Woman Alive. Pre production. You should also check out Bushwick. Good flick! Keep rocking bud! 😎 👍75% great from me. Definitely potential here as low budget directors, producers, we only get better with each new film. Nice drone shots too. What's my experience? I'm one of largest action indie film productions in DFW, Tx. Typically 40 to 60 cast & crew. 2 features in post edit. 2 features on pause due to weather. 2 in pre production casting. 15 crew. Best of luck!!
Thank you! I will be filming some shorts in 2025 that go more into depth on character development and filling in the gaps of this film. Hopefully I can put it all together and sell it as a full length film. Thank you for commenting!
I look through the comment section and I see what you think of people's criticism, so I'll just make two short statements: in spite of really not liking it I still have to say I'm very impressed with what you did on $1,000 budget.
Thank you for the reply. I know I can't please everyone but I try to take the criticism as best I can. I guess it's just hard sometimes when I put so much effort into a film and its ripped apart like I'm suppose to be some high profile filmmaker releasing garbage movies. I know I have a lot to learn but I feel I'm doing ok given my budget and lack of professional production crew. In truth, there are several aspects I wish were better about this film and how I created it. For now, I just have to swallow the fact that people like yourself didn't like the film for whatever reason and strive to improve. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
@@randysagefilms I see you also don't do too well at taking a compliment. My comment didn't only say I didn't like the film, I said I was quite impressed with what you did on the little money you had.
The kid reading books in the car remind me of my own childhood. There are no more kids reading. everybody including adults are posting "shaist" in ticktock, Facebook and twitter x. No time to read. So sad. Our society is domed not from an asteroid but by our own hands. Technology has made things worst. More people lonely. More people thinking having 3k friends in Facebook it means they have friends at all. Loved the film. And knowing it was done with 1k$ - you are an amazing creator. Kudos!
Thank you so much for this review! You are absolutely right about the books. I included this aspect of the story for that reason. When the end of the world is upon us and there are no more cell phones, only books will remain. When the electric grid is taken out, only gas vehicles will remain. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Its nice when people notice the little nuances in this film that make it unique and relative to what could possibly be our fate if such an event would occur. ..cheers!
What with all the dumbass comments about how he'd feed a baby? How hard would it be with a weapon and animals around. Probably old shops. Worse case scenario, a baby will eat adult food broken down. Probably better than the toxic garbage that passes for baby food now (other than from its mother). People seem unable to think anymore.
Considering the limits of the CGI/SFX (Not a criticism). This has the making of an interesting series. I would hope there is more to come. Definitely a good base to see how their journey develops. Well done.
I'm sorry for the late reply. I appreciate the review. It was my first time working with special effects and I definitely have a lot to learn. I will be expanding on this film in the future for sure! Thanks again my friend!
Loved your film Randy!!! What a GREAT cinematic adventure. Well written, well narated, well written, decent special effects -- CRAZY good 4k video. GREAT drone camera work... I think this will change the film industry. Really enjoyed the acting, and plot. I know it is low budget, but WELL DONE! ...Really enjoyed it!!!
WHAT initially caught my eye was the brevity of this film, because many 'shorts' are done on a limited budget but with good content. Overall excellent, thought- provoking for sure, and the expansive aerials gave the film breadth in the wake of a worldwide catastrophe. Good luck with all endeavors and hoping for more.
Thank you my friend! It took a year of my life to complete this film but I am happy with the results considering the budget. Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to review!
Was waiting for her to come out as a dragon master and saviour of the world... Special effects should be left for uni students looking to get experience (plenty time on their hands very efficient with projects letting them progress with their future career). Star Wars was remastered - you can get your movie remastered when part two will be made. You know the one about girl and the dragons...
That's a great idea about the girl becoming the dragon master!! And what is a UNI student if you don't mind me asking? Would love some help with the special effects. Thanks for watching!
I loved the story. Interesting point of view of an apocalytpic future. A combination of possibilities, including special powers. Thank you for sharing.
I started watching this and ended up pausing to get a snack preparing for a good story, damn good story the only problem i found is its just too short....i want more a full feature length film please
What a cool film! I really enjoyed it, and I'm hoping you all will make 2076, the next chapter in the story of Ryker and Dad. I liked seeing the dragons and Jupiter and Saturn in the sky. Thanks!
If you look closely it was accidental. At the time he didn't realize what the green arora was and was just trying to shake it off. Thanks for watching!
I might make another film for $1000 and pocket the rest! Haha Just kidding! Would love to have a budget and a crew behind me. Thank you for watching my friend!
Gasoline would possibly still exist in tanks and random storage devices. If stored properly it could still be good 10 years later. And since I created this story, it's true! Lol
@@randysagefilms I imagine a vehicle designed 40 years from now would get like 400 miles per gallon. So they could travel for weeks or months without needing a fill up.
Pretty good short movie. I think you did a great job. Your music choices was good for the different scenes. I've often thought that 30 minute moves are the wave of the future. It is a busy world.
Very good short film! I love sci fi. One question, why didn't he shoot the dragon from the get go? Keep up the good work! The actors did an amazing job! God bless to yall always!!!
Thank you for the comment. Initially he thought the dragon may have flown away cause he didn't see it himself. I suppose he should have grabbed the weapon immediately but that's just how I wrote the script, so I went with it. Appreciate the review!
Excellent work, I liked the storyline, props and acting. A lot of time, effort, and people to create this is evident. Keep honing your directing, and storylines. God bless you!
If you follow the narration the dragons came from eggs that traveled with the asteroids. I had the dragon special effects and wanted to include them into the story. Keep in mind this is a fictional piece, created from my mind. Its not meant to be an acurate portrail of what would happen if asteroids hit earth, rather something that is possible and unique as a film maker. I grabbed a page out of Mad Max with the fossil cars in the future, mostly because I didn't have any 2070 model cars laying around for use in the film. Thanks for watching!
@@randysagefilms I truly bow down to your ability, I have never made a film, it grabbed me and after getting into the start chase then following the back story was caught hook, line and sinker, there is nothing wrong with space dragons, but it's a different genre from astroid collapse of civilization. I like films like attack of the 50 ft woman, Godzilla and such. I will watch the entire movie and critic the dragons again. Dragonlance was a teenage favourite of mine and dragons are such a spiritual, magical symbolism of both balance and longevity.
The Scenery fantastic, the actors 'marvelous' pun. 2 of the 5 storylines grabbing. Effects good - bit sketchy in places ( fight scene though good was very power rangers) Sorry, but in a corny b movie cool way. Great imagination and sure you will spawn some fantastic if not epic movies in the future. Could almost be Conan the barbarian Vs dragon spawn. Entertaining and I agree with the detailed critic of others, which I am sure is detailed due to your uncut diamond talent that shines through in parts.
Thanks for the review! I thought it was too long at first but I have received a few requests for it to be longer. My plan is to go in depth on the characters in the film and release a sequel and other supporting shorts. Maybe in a couple years I will have enough for a feature! Thanks for watching!
@@randysagefilms just an idea, maybe make a bunch of shorts and join them like a long movie. You are talented. I commented on the actors, because that’s what I saw, but making it happen was the director, so congrats.
My friend I know this might be difficult to understand but this film is NOT REAL!! ITS FICTION!! That means I created it from my mind. Saturn is and never will be close enough to the earth to see with the naked eye. Neither are dragons or super powers, but I wanted to have fun with the special effects and storyline. I did this successfully and I'm proud of the final product after putting an entire year into creating this. Thanks for watching.
Good music, cinematography, editing, and b roll. Reasonable graphics. The acting was okay. The film did suffer a bit from weak casting with implausible sci fi holes like obesity ten years after a catastrophic event, and bad wardrobe including spotless clothing while enduring survival, etc. Overall, a strong effort.
Appreciate the honest review! I agree with you on the wardrobe. I focused on the clothing choices but should have made them dirtier for sure. As a film maker its my job to make sure the acting is on point and believable. I need to work on that! I am a one-man band here and during filming its sometimes difficult to get everything just right. I am probably too focused on getting the shot, audio, and framing. Regardless, this film was fun to make. The actors gave it their best. And I am slowly working on perfecting this craft, one film at a time. Thank you for watching my friend!
Thanks for the response to my comment. Would you care to share some thoughts about some of your gear and software choices for this production?@@randysagefilms
Sure! This was the last production with my old gear. In this film I used a Nikon Z7 mirror-less camera in 4K at 24 fps and a Nikor Prime 50mm f1.8 lens. I edited everything in Adobe Premier Pro and purchased the royalty free music from Ghosthack. I recently upgraded to a Panasonic S1H Mirror-less camera and a DZO Films Cinema Prime 35mm lens. I also upgraded all my audio gear and now use a Rode NTG4 shotgun mic. I used a Rode mini condenser mic in this production but had some issues in post-production with noise reduction...but I managed.

Exactly. Probably not too far from the truth if it ever happens here. Thank you for watching my friend!
After 2020 the "scientists" proved they only know the propaganda their paid to tell us!!
Sadly there are many people like trump in the world who refuse to listen to scientists and cause chaos and death.
Great creativity, your dream came true in a movie, excellent job
Thank you so much! Appreciate the review!!
How did the father feed the baby without resources until it could eat solid food? I'm impressed with the special effects on such a small budget though.
Abandoned resources like grocery stores, etc. Thank you so much for watching!!
@user-cx7kg6ok9b There. How hard was that!
This is the begining of the end
Thank you for watching!
The music and filmography are excellent (on par with big-budget productions), the acting solid. Would have liked a bit more chemistry between father and daughter like they showed in the final scene, especially after having overcome so much hardship together. Overall quite enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your passion and talents with us.
@@thomasvilla6109 Really appreciate the review!! Cheers
Wow! For less than a thousand dollars. Great job. Glad I found this.
Excellent
Thank you for the comment! I appreciate you watching.
Good work! Especially considering the low budget. I liked that you had the kid narrate the story!
Thank you so much!! Appreciate the review!!
As a parent when I say to my children DON'T MOVE. I mean that they must stay where they are. I don't like it when children disobey my rules. I plan for every possible situation.
Thank you for watching!
Wow!!!! I LOVE THIS!!!!! 🤩
Thank you so much! It was fun to create for sure.
Looks great. Keep pushing. Know the feeling! Working on a post apocalypse feature soon myself. Nice film work.
I would like to see this as a full length movie. I thought it was really good, but way to short.
Thank you! I will be filming some shorts in 2025 that go more into depth on character development and filling in the gaps of this film. Hopefully I can put it all together and sell it as a full length film. Thank you for commenting!
@@randysagefilms
That sounds great. All the best & I'll keep an eye out. 🤍
More!!
Appreciate that! Working on another Sci-Fi film as we speak!
@@randysagefilms
Excellent work. Much better than the rest
@@allencampbell8322 Thank you my friend!!
@@aquariandawn4750 Ouch!! I guess I should've said thank you for that. I appreciate your compliment. My apologies!
@@leoncaravelli I blame the internet... & fast food. I'm off the fast food but still mainlining the internet too much.
Its nice when people notice the little nuances in this film that make it unique and relative to what could possibly be our fate if such an event would occur. ..cheers!
Awesome photography beautiful scenery.
Thank you!! Appreciate the comment.
Remind me Shakthiman series from 1999 Indian television series
What with all the dumbass comments about how he'd feed a baby? How hard would it be with a weapon and animals around. Probably old shops. Worse case scenario, a baby will eat adult food broken down. Probably better than the toxic garbage that passes for baby food now (other than from its mother). People seem unable to think anymore.
For the Love of the craft..... You done good!❤
It is what it is, but got the point missing some other things. It’s got my attention well done.
Appreciate the feedback! Thank you for watching.
$1000!?!?! what a frickin GENIUS!!! wow!!! ...very impressed. Thanks, so much, Randy!!!
Really appreciate this comment!!! I love getting reviews like this. It lets me know I'm on the right track. Cheers my friend!
The photography was beautiful. Loved it.
Brings back memories of my childhood in Glasgow.
@@randysagefilms university/college if not in America just look for helping hand in Europe. Good luck with your future ventures 💪
I loved the story. Interesting point of view of an apocalytpic future. A combination of possibilities, including special powers. Thank you for sharing.
I started watching this and ended up pausing to get a snack preparing for a good story, damn good story the only problem i found is its just too short....i want more a full feature length film please
One of these days I will produce a feature. Would need a good script and a budget to really pull it off right. Thank you for watching!!
Need more of this please?
What a cool film! I really enjoyed it, and I'm hoping you all will make 2076, the next chapter in the story of Ryker and Dad. I liked seeing the dragons and Jupiter and Saturn in the sky. Thanks!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the film! And there will be a sequel at some point!!
Super bien choc 2075 mouveau futur regarde vers bien films 😀🥺
I hope you continue. Very nicely done and a decent plot line

He gets superpowers and the first thing that he does with them is destroy a house. 11:42
If you look closely it was accidental. At the time he didn't realize what the green arora was and was just trying to shake it off. Thanks for watching!
Wow-film! I've seen a sleepdream that it's nice to float in the waterwave like this
Thank you for watching!
I’ll be 101 years old at this time.
I will be exactly 100! That's the main reason for the title. Thanks for commenting!
I be 118 years old
I'll be 135 😅
Wow. Under 1.000,00. That's a wonder. I do not want to know what you do with 1 million. Watching from Germany.
I might make another film for $1000 and pocket the rest! Haha
Just kidding! Would love to have a budget and a crew behind me. Thank you for watching my friend!
I always wonder where the gasoline comes from? It has a shelf life.
In 2075 wouldn't all cars be electric?
Us wouldn't all cars have run flat tyres by then?
@@chrislaurenceleo That truck was built in the 1970s so no...it wouldn't! Thanks for watching.
Excellent!
Thank you so much!!
nice, very nice!
Thank you my friend! Appreciate the comment.
Excellent work, I liked the storyline, props and acting. A lot of time, effort, and people to create this is evident. Keep honing your directing, and storylines. God bless you!
Thank you so much! I appreciate this comment!!
Was getting into it then the dragons - why are they still driving Fossil cars in 2070 surely they would be riding dinosaurs 🦖
Wow!!! Great job with this movie my friend.
I appreciate the comment! Thanks for watching!
I like it. Bring out the sequel.
Thank you my friend! The sequel is in the works!
Нормально так на столетней колымаге гоняют. Жив курилка, жив ещё.
Great movie, just too short. Amazing talent in all the actors. Looking forward to watching the next one.
Best short film I've seen in God knows how long, well done!
The sound. so astonishing. good movie. ok from me.
great job on a low budget. I'd like to see what you did with more money in a production! keep up the great job
Thank you for watching my friend! One of these days I will work with a budget and am excited to see the outcome as well... Cheers!
I see that you don't want "rude" comments left. But, suggesting that Saturn will move millions of miles closer to Earth is ok. Got it.
Bravo, Well done
Thank you my friend! Cheers
