Finally a more affordable option when compared to the Sig MCX or FN SCAR.
Why is everyone upset that a short barrel, running subs, with no can doesn't cycle fully with zero break in? Who is spending money to shoot subs unsuppressed? If you have that kind of cash to literally throw away, why are you looking at PSA?
So we had issue with Subs cycling until we found the Hornady FTX Polymer tip 300 blackout 190 gr ..they are pricey but on our X95 Tavor, the gas system was either suppressed or non supressed..it didn't have the cooler multi-adjustable gas block! very cool!
I have the PSA 7.5 inch which uses a buffer tube, I I put on a foldable stock that can be folded with a buffer tube but cant be fired folded. I put a silencer on it and registered it as a SBR, 300 blk out, Runs very smooth
Nice. Did you have to do any other mods? Gas block, buffer weight etc? I've been debating whether to go with the jakl or buy a psa shorty upper in 300 blk.
You are lucky to get one that didn't have to be sent back like I did.
Took them 1 month to just replace the bolt carrier group which they knew was bad.
By the way to pair with any regular ar lower there are modifications needed
Great review!
I like it. The JAKL.
The 510 Holosun I is cool, I’m considering it.
I’ve got the 510 on my 8.5” 300blk ar and I’ve gotta admit, it’s effing awesome
Looks sick brother! What’s the size of it folded with that YHM? Also I’d recommend a Cloud defensive micro rein 3.0 or a modlight pdw350.
Take a look at the PowerTac light.
What's the accuracy you should expect from this specific setup? 1-2 MOA?
Great vid, 100% right about the JAKL, So what do you fly?
How about a pistol light . TLR-3?
nice set up, do you have issue with super or subs ammo shooting unsuppressed>
The 220gr subs I had would not cycle well unsupressed, but work fine with suppressor. Supers were good either way
@PilotPatriot for the 510 are you using the absolute co witness or the 1/3 witness for the jakl ?
1/3
I was looking at the votatu laser/light combo. Feel like even tho it's chineseum, it would fit nice on this compact setup.
You look like a votatu 😂
Go figure how chinesium parts are more convenient. Their lights looks like they’re perfect for PDWs or limited rail spaces
I have a votatu red dot on my 556 jakl ( 16 inch ) and it works good on it
Hows this compared to sig spear lt?
how is that brace?
Liking that. Like the gray. Maybe needs a few more gas settings to help it function better with subs.
It has 6 position gas settings, how many is needed?
@@BoostedMaverick enough to function
@@toddparsons2980 6 is enough to function
What size bag can you put this in?
I have a gamut 3.0 bag
Anyone on here
Hey. How was last round lock back with suppresor . I have same Jakl, I’m worried about what type of suppresor I should get so that can cycle subs good? I have a Q trash panda coming . You think that will be good enough?
Not sure what this issue was but it is locking back now with the last gas setting, maybe just break-in time?
Ok I saw I’m a face book group a few people had problems cycling subs with low back pressure cans. So I wanted to pick a good quiet suppressor based on that.
Maybe it’s me but I’d like it to run well no matter what…did you end up figuring out why it wouldn’t cycle the subs in unsuppressed? Looking at picking one of these up myself.
I have the jakl and use 220 grain stealth ammo. Stealth told me their 220 grain rounds are designed to be used with a silencer. Without the added back pressure from the silencer it’s not going to cycle because it wasn’t designed to without the silencer.
Those stealth rounds are designed to be fired suppressed! not the guns fault, it shot the regular 125gr fine and shot the 220 fine with the suppressor! Just a matter of dialing in the gas setting
if you have to ask why, its clear you dont understand how things work.
sub sonics wont work without a suppressor, thats what they are designed for. thats like asking why a .45 wont work in a 9mm gun, because its not designed for it
Still waiting on 6 arc with 20” barrel
Are you using specific 300 blackout mags ? They make a huge difference in feeding and cycling. 556 mags will malfunction.
556 mags i was able to run it fine once i got the gas dialed in, but ill definatly try some 300blk specific mags!
This is my experience as well
The jakl in 300bo only comes in 8in barrel. I wish they made a 10in
I want a 6.5” micro version lmao
Should checkout the BRN180. They have what you need.
is that the smoke color?
Yep!!

Shame its a 1:8 twist. A 1:7 twist makes more sense in that barrel length.
If they would give it a 1:5 or a 1:7 twist I would be all over it. The 1:8 does not stabilize the 220 Maker bullets I reload with.
ETA- Maker, cutting edge, and similar COPPER bullets are LONGER than traditional lead core bullets. Because they are longer, they require a faster twist rate to stabilize because it is less dense than lead core bullets.
Yeah hard pass for 300 for jakl
I’ve shot multiple different 220 grain rounds through mine at 100 yards. 6 different brands to be exact. And every single one of them had a 1.5-2 moa grouping at 100 yards. Now maybe the maker bullets your using are subpar and don’t stabilize but every one I’ve shot did fine
1:8 will stabilize up to 220gr projectiles with no problem. I’ve had exceptional accuracy right at 1.3 moa at 250yd with 220gr smks in a 1:8 twist barrel.
@@treyjackson8508 yes, 1:8 will stabilize normal 220s like the SMKs. I had a 1:8 in an older rifle before switching to 1:5 and 1:7 rifles. The 220 makers, and similar copper bullets are longer than the 220 SMKs and thus require a faster rate of twist.
@@koberoy5947 yes, 1:8 will stabilize normal lead core 220s. I have had a 1:8 in an older rifle before switching to 1:5 and 1:7 rifles. The 220 makers and similar copper bullets are longer than lead core 220 and thus require a faster rate of twist. It has nothing to do with being subpar construct. It has to do with bullet length.
I really want to like PSA guns but my goodness look how guns are being sent back on every product they offer. I’ve had 3 AKs that needed to go back straight from the factory, and just read the comments below. They really need to get their QC together. Makes me very skeptical of their ammo.
I have several PSA guns, no issues with any of them
@@PilotPatriot 🤷🏼 I guess you won the PSA lottery. I’m not trying to bash them, they are just well known to have QC issues. Ive already seen some other videos where the JAKL had issues, nothing major but still. They especially had a lot of issues with their AK lines. I’m hoping the JAKL comes together because I’d like to try one at some point.
I have a rock and an akv that have been flawless. I also had an ak gf3 that got sent back twice and never fixed. Also, an ar that the gas block walked off the front. Love their prices but very hit and miss
Please please please make this in a variant that works with your bullpup system.
