With products like these, I believe it is a mind thing. Psychologically speaking, that is. Like how certain words and popular name brands play a psychological part in skewing the perception of the human mind. For example, when you see “Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme” or “Reese’s Peanut Butter” on a food package, you are thus expecting the product to be sweet as a candy bar-hence that preconceived notion. However, conversely, when you see the words ‘Protein Bar’ on the label as well, your mind will expect something foul-tasting and bitter, with a strong protein flavor/aftertaste. All that being said, it is good to know that these two protein bars were actually pretty good, particularly the Reese’s! 😅

I saw these on their Insta page and I freaked out. I need to find these in the Walmart near my father!
At Shoprite, they put all of the bars in one area. At Stop and Shop, the protein bars are in their own "sports nutrition" section paired with the protein powders/drinks. I think I prefer how Stop and Shop does it, since if you're looking specifically for protein items, you don't have to go on some kind of scavenger hunt sifting through all the normal stuff.
As someone who skips both of those sections altogether, I don't really care, but I can see it being easier for people with that need to have their own place.
I kind of agree - I admit I don't really go to either of these aisles unless I see them in a Sam's or Costco, but not really in a regular grocery. I would imagine that if you are looking for protein bars, you are probably a target audience that does the powders and all the types of foods, drinks, and products so you might not want to have to sift through all the non-athlete/sports products (of which they are legion!).
I’m not a fan of protein bars etc.

I agree, put all the bars together. I’ve never understood why they put them in the pharmacy area. I’ve read mixed reviews on these with the Reese’s being the best out of the two. I don’t eat many protein bars anymore, but I would be willing to the Reese’s. Thanks for a great review.

I thought the Reese's one was great!
If you are counting calories on a diet 30% of these calories should be protein. Protein is very important for muscles, hair skin, heart, immune system. As you get older you need a little more daily. Read your lables and you will be amazed how much meat you need to eat to get this protein ( 1oz ground beef is 70calories and just 7.2 grams protein.) These are nice to just use occasionally to get to that protein level you need. Thanks for the review.

Clever packaging as I instinctively associated this to a a Fibre One bar with Hershey’s cookies and cream flavour. These aren’t aimed at me so would give both of them a pass. Thanks for the review.

I finally found the Reese's one a few days ago, I thought it tasted great but the macros aren't good enough for me to buy it again. TOTALLY agree that they need to find one place only to put all of the protein bars in!

3 grams of sugar is high whats the saturated fat?

At one point I was eating 2-4 protein or nutrition bars a day… I thought it was healthy… it isn’t… for many reasons… I rarely eat them at all now… if you aren’t an endurance athlete, protein deficient, power lifter or on a doctor recommended high protein diet, you probably don’t need these… I’d rather eat a little pb on a slice of whole grain bread, graham cracker or apple than this bar…
I agree 100%. I see people eating tons of protein all the time who are trying to lose weight. In my opinion, more protein is not the way to go.
