What he said. Start high work on good mechanics and alignment of the ankle, knee ,hip and pelvic rotation then get lower. Also your shoes could be too sticky. you need a certain amount of freedom of movement to pivot correctly from one stance to another. if your feet stick to the floor you can twang your knees.

Try reducing the depth and ankle torsion, and build the mobility from there
