To be fair that's appropriate for a lot of raids in this game. Alexander, Pandaemonium, YoRHa, Aglaia, Eden, I'm sure there's more fantastic ones I'm not thinking of

That's why the primal themes are some of my favorites in the game, they all have little bits of lore about each individual entity and it's suuuuch a nice touch that Soken didn't need to add, but I'm so glad he did!

I am a new player in ffxiv who went into everything blind so i just yolo and queued to the raid without knowing what to expect. When i got to the boss cutscene and the music hits, i was in awe on how cool this raid is. The music is just so fitting and it still give me chills to this day whenever i am running alexander.
I'm a WoW Refugee and now a FFXIV Sprout now starting Heavensward. This Raid and this Music gives me the chills, so amazing even though I haven't completed it yet myself, just watched Asmongold doing it, can't wait to play and do these Heavensward Raids. Locus is possibly my favorite Final Fantasy song ever made theirs just so much about this song that i love that it would be impossible to explain my reason for liking it!!!
Last time my husband got an Alexander raid in roulette they had to wait for cutscene viewer and the whole group started to dance. It was a glorious sight ^^
it really didn't. there is only a single line in there that really means anything and in all probability is only a reference to Astrologian. the lyrics are "22 sectors tested" referencing the 22 areas unlocked in ARR and HW (Not counting cities) "Fragments in one direction" Referencing MCH shooting their bullets "Celestial noise detected" Referencing AST being celestially aligned "Delirium unsuspected" Referencing DRK because of story and skill reasoning seeing as the devs and even the lead story designer said they didn't even have any idea what EW was gonna be or even how it ended. Hell Dynamis wasn't even considered an option till mid/end ShB
@xevysilverwind9494 developers also literally said that they had no clue about the story of endwalker untill they started working on the story in the tempest. Which is at least 5 years of just not time. So at most it was talking about omega and the war in Gyr Abania. If they retrofitted stories to fit this one song then that's a possibility, but in no way did this "predict" the story of ShB/EW
@@daanroelofs119 Yeah, that's mostly what I meant. I know they didn't know everything when they made Alexander, but I just like how everything retroactively fits. Based on how well it fits, I would like it if they canonized this line as a foreshadowing for Endwalker.
I know the bar is "transmissions blink uncompleted" but I always hear it as "transgressions become completed" since it fits the time loop theme the raids have.
Spoiler Warning: "Our world's a fantasy, no more than a test." - Hydaelyn starts sweating profusely as Alexander starts laying Endwalker truth bombs on us.
I absolutely hated this song when I heard it the first time (in the Twinning, started playing in March of 2021 so I was just doing MSQ and no real side content) but then I unlocked the Alexander raids for my relic weapon and this song went from being bad to an absolute banger.

I honestly believer that with Coils of Bahamut the game peaked in terms of boss design and placement and overall atmosphere in a raid tier, and then with Alexander the game peaked in terms of music, style, thematics and everything fitting together perfectly. Mostly the music though. I can't really think of a set of raids that are even close to as good as either Coils or Alexander since.
So last night, my FC mates and several limsa chillers decided to do normal raid but cant cuz i havent unlocked it so we did an unsync run on the first alexander. I only played this game two years ago and beat A Realm Reborn but I love this "When falling back is better than simply falling back into pieces again" 🙏
It's certainly a possibility that a "God of Machines" would have picked up on the transmissions of the Omicrons, or possibly -another EW spoiler plot point-
together with surrounding lines it is more probably a reference to AST as omega wasn't yet released into Gyr Abania at the time and still laid dormant.
this is far from likely as that story line wast even in the making yet. Endwalker story was made halfway through ShB more than 5 years after this came out
Even though that plot was not at all hashed out at the time, most of this could easily be describing Endwalker lmao. Parts could also pretty well describe RDM gameplay also. Maybe Koji Fox was the real time-traveller after all.
How powerful would a "god of machines" be? Would it be able to make a machine stronger then it self? Would that machine be able to do the same? Does reality or the universe count as a machine?

Oh good catch, I wonder if Alexander did in fact detect them. Alexander has always been one of the more wickedly powerful summons/primals. And with it's ability to manipulate time it's entirely possible it did.
The more I listen to it, the more it sounds like Alexander not only detected the Meteia, but was caught in a logic loop almost surrendering to their song of despair, with Alexander eventually planning on Tycoon to give the WoL a chance to succeed
"I've never done these raids before. Any advice?"

For being one of two songs that get used in 8 fights in the same raid series, I never get tired of this one.
The lyrics for this song are amazing just because it tells you the man in the machine story right in the lyrics.
