A word of advice to people who watch this, if you already have a camera don't think you can get better in your photography with a brand new feature rich camera. Save your money and read some books on photography and understand lighting & composition.

Been using for about 6 months and absolutely LOVE this camera. Only gripe Is the over heating with 4k. But that’s where the FX30 comes in…. Can’t recommend it enough.

After about 15-20 min of continuous shooting.(the ambient temp obviously has an effect on that) I bought a tiny fan that attaches to the back that helps by about 3-7 min. Zero factor if you’re shooting 5 min here and there… but worth noting. Not good for say, a podcast shoot… other than that. AMAZING little camera!
For only a few hundred more I bought the Lumix S5ii and they even threw in a free 2nd lens. Plus its full frame and weather sealed and up to 96mp stills. So glad best buy was sold out of the a6700 when I wentnto buy it.
Kind of odd to do all the research required to pull the trigger on a purchase like this, only to have a best buy employee change your mind on the spot.
$1400 body only for an APSC is not necessarily “an affordable price”, especially if you don’t need all of the video features. At least CaNikon have managed to keep crop sensors under a grand. An RX100 is 1300 usd. 🤣
I think it’s amazing, I can’t afford a fx30 for Video. But the a6700 has the Same Sensor, Same image quality and S-Log3. But everything with lower cost

The 6700 his a superior sensor. It’s back lit for better low light performance, and it has the same pixel density as the A7rV. With good lenses it should provide excellent detail.
The A6700 looks like an incredible camera! I picked up the Fuji X-S20-i can tell you that it’s a wonderful little camera-I absolutely love it and it’s optimal for travel🙏
@@RollGlide you can always use apcs lenses on full frame if you want to. You just have more choice in case you don't want your image to be cropped, or just want a higher end lens which are typically only full frame.

Sony’s APS-C crop is 1.5x for normal shooting now with Active Stabilisation ON what is the effective crop factor? Does the crop factor vary by resolution setting?
(Not an owner but seen enough to say) ibis from a6700 is good enough to not active the Active stabilization which is digital and could crop your footage more than you could want

I'm shooting a full frame Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens on the FX30 because it's sharper with no vignetting and using my Sony 10-20mm f/4 PZ G lens for my A6700 with the green screen.
I bought this as my first camera, not knowing it’s so well received by the photography community. Now, I kinda wish I bought something worse so I could appreciate this more.
A7C is probably better for photographers since it’s full frame. This thing is the same size as a7C but Is Aps-c. Beats it in video, but that’s pretty much it.
@@Kunal0915 as a photographer, I’d probably take that trade off depending on how bad it is. The A7C was meant to be a compact full frame, for travel/candid etc. I use an A7RiV still for dedicated work. If we’re talking about a work situation, where someone might have to change settings quickly, and they still want good video, then an A7IV is probably a better choice. Ofcourse if they prioritize video then the A6700 is still better imo.
The hardware reminds me of three cameras from 2014-2015 and it still has not caught up to the NX1. I really don't see the hype with this camera. Software and sensor might be good, but this is not a high end aps-c camera. IBIS is weak, sensor and viewfinders are very low res and could be found on aps-c cameras nine years ago. No joystick means that ergonomics is lacking, and then there is still only one sd-card. Sure it is an upgrade to the a6600, but the competitors have equal or better models in many regards. Even a simpler and cheaper model like Fuji's X-S20 is ahead of the a6700 in most areas except weathersealing and 4k120. I just have a hard time seeing all video reviewers celebrating Sony for a mediocre update after four years.
I’m thinking of getting an an A6700 andfor headshots and studio portraits. Would it be pretty doable for portraits? I shoot the Fuji XT5 but I’m picking up a Sony A6700 soon to add in the mix.
Depends on what you want to do, ZV-E1 is more geared towards video features. I personally own both mainly because I needed a good photo camera to compliment the ZV-E1 during video shoots. The ZV-E10 1 made me fall in love with the APSC Form factor and lens prices, A6700 has really impressive lowlight performance as well, honestly the do it all APSC camera in my opinion for a good price. No matter what both are awesome cameras, hope you picked one up 🔥
The image quality increase is significant. You would enjoy the A7 III. However, even the A6400 has better AF than the A7 III. I am totally satisfied with the AF of the a7 III though.
If you are looking for auto focus the a6700 will be the winner but if you are looking for image quality in my opinion I would definitely choose the a7iii with its FF, however the lens will be expensive.
It has very good performance, only at 4k 120 does it start to over heat a bit but even then most wont shoot in 4k120 unless for slow-mo since it has a 1.5x crop. the 4k 60 is amazing tho, downsampled from 6k with no crop
@@J.WMultimedia It really is, the kit lens is also pretty good. I like to shoot skateboarding primarily so all I need is the kit lens and the fish eye. Gotta travel light and fairly cheap because obviously since I record skating bad things can hapen to the lenses to say the least and you don't want glass worth more than $250 unless you've got a big pair of balls

Depends which sensor size camera you're already using I guess. I have the a6400 so the a6700 would be a logical upgrade. The a6700 and A7C have very similar prices at launch so if you want full frame just wait for the A7C2.

The sensor has a slow read out speed and low FPS among other things. For things people want from a crop sensor camera for shooting sports and wildlife, this camera falls short. No thanks.
