I'm thinking that dashing to cross a gap will be much like Traverse for pipes and such. It uses the whole 3", but puts you across the gap. If you jump as part of a regular move the jump test will still need to be taken. Rampant Speculation of course.

I’m sad we can’t shove operatives into the water, but at least it’s a universal rule.
I really hope they’ve removed the need for the Jump rule. Not just because of the parts you mentioned, but also because you can only jump once per activation.
