I have to say, I've been using a librarian with sternguard in an impulsor and giving him the gift of foresight. The potential to get auto dev wounds is intriguing.
2 combos that I love in the Liberator detachment : Captain with rage fuelled in assault intercessor, when he gets angry on a target on an objective and oathed, dude will do 9 attacks sustain 3, so with oath, you can count on 2x6s so 15 hits total, that can then do mortal wounds with full reroll, dude can oneshot nearly anything on his own if you roll good, and if not, he will still slap as hell ! Other combo is bladeguards with bladeguard banner with the fight first improvement, those guys are pretty tanky and autonomous on their own, annoying as hell with the fight first for your opponent with 14 OC on an objective, but you can also send them like a missile, activate the banner ability to give one more attack to each guys, and then those guys will make 36 attacks total on the charge, cp for lethal + lance, oath if you want to fish the lethals, and still wounding on 4 afterward on most things with s7+lance on -2 damage 2 ! And the best thing, even if they will be battleshock afterward, they will still be 7 OC thanks to the banner...
Thank you for the video brother, it's interesting to see anothers list building process. I like the Judiciar to go with the Bladeguard, they lose +1 to wound, but you net save 15pts on not needing the enhancement to get Fights First because the Judiciar has it baked in. He also has a pretty sick melee profile; 5A 2+ S7 AP-2 D2 with precision and dev wounds.
Curious to know if a Bladeguard Ancient with Speed of the Primarch is a good option. Same cost of a Judiciar and you get extra OC, though you do less dmg.
Opened my next list as I started watching the video to see if mine was similar. I had a super funny feeling it would be! Just fire support that's different. I'm doing 2 lancer, 1 ballistus. Your way gives you your extra outriders which could be the way to go but the S14 guns on the lancers are too good to drop for me. Also, I think the jump chaplains are going to be a real dark horse in the coming months with a lot more people using them with 5 DC rather than the lem/ast with 10. Great video as always John. ❤
My current melee bricks are: Dante + 6 SG Jump Chap Rage Fuelled Powerfist + 5 DCJP Judiciar Gift + 6 BGV Terminator Chaplain Speed + 5 Termies That small 6x32mm DC with Chaplain is easy to hide and rushes out with 13 Str10 +1 to W attacks with rerolls to hit. Need to test, head math likes though.

I tried those out already: Terminator Chaplain with fights first into my Custodes friend, ending up spanking Trajann and his Wardens in the mid board. The Terminator Librarian is also solid, libbie has psychic attack and gives good ranged/melee boost to the termies with [sustained 1], more of a well rounded option vs the chaplain combo is better into melee matchups. Since I used up the fights first enhancement on this brick, I brought a Judiciar with my bladeguard, only key to having multiple fights first units is don't let the opponent charge them both in same turn.
Im going to test the list with -1x outiders and Jump DC and add in the Captain and assault intercessors. I had 55 points left and a techmarine was a great fit, they also are a bit cheeky in LAG

Did they change the death company load out or is it wrong in the app. I’m talking about the replacing both the bolt pistol and chain sword part. In the codex it says you get one of a few options a different gun and melee weapon. But on the app you just get one option.
Recently picked up blood angels though I've seen your content for some time on and off, something that I love the idea of is a storm raven carrying in a unit of 10 choppy DC and DC dread along with one very stressed out chaplain, its fluffy imo but is it viable at all? im curious of your opinion on the usefulness of the storm raven in a BA (LAG) list, maybe you could touch on it in a video?
I think the storm Raven is very expensive, it doesn’t have great survivability, it doesn’t have great shooting, it doesn’t have any OC, I feel like it’s a better play to just rapid ingress through those death company. The storm Raven might surprise someone in casual play, but probably avoid it in competitive.
I can't look at Death Company JPs and think "that's a good unit". 40 pts over AIjps and you get 1 more power fist and an eviscerator? No OC unless you spend a chaplain tax? No mortals on charge? Ballistus is another unit that bothers me. It is fantastic, yes, but if you're shooting into something very tough like a Knight or Angron, they do so little. I don't know how you'd take on big tough lists with this list (admittedly, I am inexperienced). What are your thoughts on Baal Predator over Predator Destructor? Not so much for anti tank, but for gunline support?
I've got 4 impulsors 3x 5 assault intersessors 1 with captain, 3x blade guard and judy..! All have shield 🛡 domes.. so so great with that 5++ I've only ever lost 2 max in the 5 games played.
I always find the ballistus disappointing for anti tank.. but if you run it just to sit on objectives and shoot heavy infantry / light vehicles I think it does that job decently. The OC 4 on it is a nice breakpoint
Theyre honestly great back line holders for 260 points. Tough enough to withstand deepstrikers, and S9 feet really hurt. They also still get their reroll hits when shooting in melee

How do you use your JPI’s? Just been list building and ending up swapping them for suppressors as they’re just cheap action monkeys that do an action and die.
That's looking like a multiple small unit army where any one loss is not too detrimental to the list as a whole. Dante and the Sanguinary Guard and the Chaplin and Blade Guard being the big hitters. The only thing I see is you make those two units the obvious targets which makes your opponents job a little easier? It will be interesting to see if you make it work or get punished for it? With you have a lot of 2's I personally would be interested in 2 Ballistus and 2 Destructors. It might be a little on the high side of shooting for you but I think a bit of thinning of units wouldn't hurt in some cases and maybe create lanes for you to exploit. I just see 2 units there with very big shoot me signs on them now as the part you'll have to play around.
I don't hate your list. But there is a very huge problem I'm seeing with it. The lack of an Inv save. Sure the Characters and SG have it. But I play a lot of CSM (Renegade Raiders specifically) and I think my list would very much welcome your list. I am not sure about this list, you have more and less the same damage 2 attacks, but you loose 16 inferno pistols with rerrolls, this its a lot of damage
I don’t agree entirely- the first knight going down was almost the deciding factor: would you have ended his Canis Rex on the middle objective with the Ballistus Dreads and a Predator? Anyway: I look forward to seeing you try the new list. Also, I’m a hypocrite because I don’t have any centurions because I daren’t buy them before they go to legends, and run two Lancers, a Ballistus, and 6 eradicators, which hasn’t worked that well I must add…
you gotta love centurions, once they built that is, worst astartes unit to build in my opinion horrible horrible builds.. Own 6 glad I will never have to get more ever.....

i was looking to add some shooy backbone to my BA and i landed on 2x ballistus' as well, i'm keen to see how you do!
