Amazing. A follow-up or two on how some of this was made would be cool. For example, is it actually possible to extract the 3-D models from the game, and have them do arbitrary animated moves from the library that exists for that model? Can one re-skin a model with your own custom skin?
Also, 3 years is a looong time. Is this the sort of thing that a group could work on, much like Skyblivion?
I basically did everything myself except for some of the voices done by the uber talented trixen. It didn't take legit 3 years - as this is a passion project I kept coming back to it on and off over 3 years. In terms of how it was made: I always start with recording in game. I'll either record my own character and frame them in the right setting and camera angle. Macro some /emotes, toys, etc. Then for shots where I need specific characters I'll use WMV and composite them into the scene. After that it's adding all the vfx, sfx (i'll audio engineer/mix it in Fl studio and pro tools). Color correction, compositing. But in the future I am going to improve my workflow so i can export WoW models and have them be fully customizable animations. Although, I also love keeping it within WMV and in game because it gives that nostalgic feel. Hope this explanation helps, champion! 🌿🌿🌿

Here's an imaginary outake reel I'd love to see.
Bliz devs do not seem to be coordinated with each other (insides of buildings rarely matching the outsides).
So: I think male Trolls walk stooped over because shortly before the original launch, it was discovered that the buildings devs made the doorways too short for male Trolls to walk through (or that the character devs made the Trolls too tall).
It turned out to be quicker to bend the male Trolls over than change all those huts, so there we are.
