    Hello! do you know how to enable the settings for those red sharpening that show up when manually focusing for the LCD screen, I have tried the magnification sharpening method, but I have found it to not be reliable, I would appreciate the help as I am new to Canon DSLR cameras.

      Are you talking about focus peaking? That's where the camera will outline in red what's in focus on the LCD screen. You can only do that with mirrorless cameras, not DSLR cameras.

    We have the same lens and the same camera and I can go to F4.0 and no lower. Am I doing something wrong?? My photos are fuzzy and I am unable to print over a 5x7. Maybe I just need to sell this camera and give up 😣.

      You are not doing anything wrong! Checkout my videos on auto focus if your photos are coming out blurry!

      @@mattjohnsonphoto I did look at a few of yours tbh. They’ve been very helpful. I just need a ‘rebel for dummies’ class I guess. Thanks for replying at all. I will try to learn this thing.

      @@kandiekorn8851did you zooming your lens? Everytime you zoom in and out your lens,your aperture's gonna be change.Zoom all they way out and you'll know

      @@sammy_editz the fact that you’re replying and trying to help says loads about you! I appreciate you, your vid’s and all the help you’re providing. Thank you so much. I just need to learn some basics and maybe mess with my settings. I just don’t know which are causing the issue so this may be a long process. I’ve noticed that I actually can’t ‘zoom’ in. Not til the picture is taken. I’ve messed with RAW, and they still say “unable to print in this size because image may be pixelated” so I’m def doing something wrong. I appreciate all your advice and thank you for all your guidance! 🙂

      What kind of lens is it? Is it the one that camera with the camera or a different one?

      @@mattjohnsonphoto it’s the canon base model 18-55mm I ended up purchasing from mpb and then I bought a younnuo 50 mm just to test it out and see if it was the camera or that lens and it did the same

    • @mattjohnsonphoto
      @mattjohnsonphoto  Месяц назад

      @@bcymone sounds like there's something wrong with your camera. Do you know anyone with a cannon camera? You could put those lenses on a different camera and if they work on that camera you'll know the problem is with your camera.

    Do you know how to fix the Lens Not Attached message please? When I try to change aperture, I have an f00 showing and it says I cannot change aperture due to the lens not being attached (but the telephoto lens is attached). I'm searching through all of my menu screens, but cannot find which setting I'm supposed to change. Can anyone please help? Thank you!

      Sounds like either your lens or your camera is broken.
