as an aliebay enjoyer, I see so many Chinese parts rebranded with us 'based' branding and sold at like 2-10x, its kind of crazy rn. It's mostly exterior stuff but I've seen some exhaust and performance stuff as well.
Been running a 120$ alibaba Downpipe for a while now, fit like a charm and works like a charm. Definitely places to save money nowadays if you look in the right places.
Damn Kern! Now you got the US middleman brand slappers shaking in their boots! Watch for big discounts on their parts soon 😆 Of all people, I'm glad you said it. 👍
Appreciate your honesty about the benefits and risks of Chinese components. 👍🏽 Your car audio story hit home. I had an issue with a Chinese air cooler that almost caught fire. It shows the need for caution, especially with mains-powered electrical items. Your advice to stick with trusted companies, check reviews, and avoid unverified cheap options is sound. However, it's tough due to the number of fake reviews. It's a tricky situation where you can only do your best.
I bought a Chinese catless dp but noticed it being sold under several brands which probably means there's one manufacturer given they looked identical on every page I saw them on. So far so good I would say. They seemed very well made and the welds looked good. Hopefully the metal is good quality and lasts 😅... Have not seen the design sold under big brands but that doesnt mean the big brands do not source either design, materials or parts from china.
Same thing happened to n54 market in 2017. This is good, its such a stigma to run ebay chinese turbos on n54 platform and yet there are thousands of people getting 50k+ miles on cheap china turbies. If you have a maintained car, install sht correctly, and dont trash it into the ground, these cheap parts will last just as long as name brand. Also know what to buy. Some parts should not be skimped out on obv
If it works and it’s affordable I’m all for it. Bought headers off eBay that were listed on a performance site for 300 bucks less. For the extract same header.
Pierburg is US assembled parts made in China. They make excellent aftermarket OE BMW Auxiliary water pumps. They also supply a bunch of other aftermarket parts. Never had issues with them ever. Sold over 200 units no recalls or issues. Probably makes Febi look bad.
You can find fluorinated rubber gaskets from China which last way longer than OEM counterparts - these fluorinated materials are banned in EU or U.S. for environmental reasons. Just an example to suggest: do your research, know what you pay for, take care of your own car.
Chinese manufacturers made "identical LOOKING" part with many different price base on the requirements of the buyer. They can make really good product if you gonna pay enough. If the dropshipper want to cut cost, they still have that same same part, but difference quality and of course, cheaper price. That is everything behind the shade of China OEM, dropship out there Admit it
I mean this is what happened with the n54 there was a ton of Chinese parts for that. BMWs are very popular in China so there are bound to be Chinese copy cat parts. I wouldn't knock them either the Chinese parts for the n54 worked surprisingly well. They weren't as good as top brands but they worked and performed 80% as well if not the same. There was several guys on RUclips with full Chinese n54s.
On a positive note; the most beautiful swords were crafted over in Asia. I bought a chinese umbrella in the uk and it was whack… bought one in china and you would think the thing was engineered to stop rocks falling from the sky!
let’s just be real .. We can’t compete with china when it comes to production even if we wanted all parts here in the US made the US can’t do it .. China is defintely keeping our favorite companies in business all over the world.. we’re just catching on
perfect post just saw the post about the daw ultra flow replica it's actually sad how the owner of DAW is a child eventually the B58 aftermarket will be filled with Chinese products just a matter of time. We should talk about the drop shippers like Bimmer Network buying the chinese product and putting there brand name on it. The quality must be good if there stamping there logo on it.
i mean there are barely any factories in usa. hell even nike does this. i used to work for nike distrobution. the shoes come in chinese boxes and get put into nike boxes. the egregious ones are the ones that arent even buying and stocking the merch but just sending the branding to china and dropshipping to the customer. its pretty much just a scam as you can get close to wholesale pricing but just messaging alibaba vendors. (aliexpress sucks tho)
Information gets around, the people found out and cut the middle man. There’s far more good parts that come from china directly than not these days. There’s barely any US testing and manufacturing left these days anyway.. exhausts, carbon parts and even wheels these days are on point
All the Chinese turbos really starting to make their ways to the us is gonna be fun. Im reasonably sure china has gotten pretty good at making them though.
@@behindthebuild8016 Theres the opposite of that, where people are plain stupid with their money. Which causes an inflation on parts. Like i said, kind of a fun game to play. Might get great parts, might not. Just depends on if youre willing to roll the dice.
@@behindthebuild8016 See thats the fun part, when you can do all the work yourself(I build my own parts when i want, and do everything but tuning, for now), cost of install doesnt bother me. Your Dji mic is the one desing and made in China. Do your homework, plenty of engineering excellence you can buy from china. But most people go with the very cheap which they have their market.
Well, if the viewers don't like China made parts, they can start by ditching their phones and computers. There are all made in China one way or another hahahahaha
It's not just the B58/S58 community. It's N55/S55 too. I’ve noticed a lot of car owners would rather throw cheap Chinese performance parts at their car than buy quality parts made in the U.S., Germany or Japan.

Hey bro! What do you think about the mission performance tune on an x3m?
Tbh almost all these US companies offering Carbon Parts for BMW’s source their parts on Alibaba and sell them to US customers for a crazy markup
That's why I got my carbon trunk from the source
@@carbonm2does it have a rattle? My oem one does in my m340i and I’ve thinking of just getting a carbon trunk
Dude a us page on ig wanted to sell me a carbon steering wheel witj Alcantara for $1350 and the same one I got on ali express for $780, same quality
Yup
Thats the ONLY way US companies make money :)

Look at Kies or Mashimaro were importing Chinese parts when they started. The quality is out there just gotta find the right supplier in China.

My F32 is decked out from AliExpress 😂
I have an alibaba car too HAHA
Hey Kern, so I’ve been seeing a surge in people buying wheels from Ali. Would you trust buying wheels from there?
Any feedback why so many ppl are saying the Gen 2 saw turbos are having oil issues. We were going to test the 6769 gen 2 but might hold off now
What about all the valved exhaust

A majority of the aftermarket coilovers are from the asian market. Cheap independent threaded body coilovers that are mostly for cosmetic.

The only authentic Chinese items I seek out are Kung Pao Chicken, fried rice, and the occasional egg roll - and "that's it !!"
All of this shit is alibaba special sorry not sorry
I am Chinese I know these parts are junk. How about exhaust or catless downpipe if it works good.
