- www.martellino... (I am not sponsered by Martelli ~ I just like their stuff:)
Join me for Truelove Family stories (which I have many, as a mother of 10 kids), Mothering Autism, with our Maxwell on our many fun car rides, and Free quilting class and sewing lessons! And as in a 'classroom' setting, my tutorials are approximately 1/2 hour+ long....So Join me in my home sewing room, out and about and trying to make all sorts of quilted goodies! Be aware ~ I like to chat and probably repeat myself over and over, (and stutter sometimes), and if this annoys you, then view elsewhere - but, if patient, you hopefully will learn a new method or technique and get an insight into a very large family and their crazy fun:)
And as always: Love From The Trueloves;)
Ahhhhh that is how this was done....thanks for sharing the sewing around the hexagon.
But missed your voice and laughter....
Thanks for the detail behind this. Miss your cheery voice. 🙂 Martelli should sponsor you!
Thanks Jean, we see your big smiles or hear your giggles, but I’m sure your still recouping. Your video was great and your tune was lighthearted.Someday I may venture into making hexagons and this style would be the winner. Thanks again and keep well. 👍❤️😊
I like some of Martelli's things. Cant afford most. I made my own hexagon template with my Dad's help. He is a retired aerospace engineer, so math is his thing. Definitely not mine! LOL!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea. A great way to use larger pieces nor cake layer cuts. Do a few each day and the quilt is finished in no time! Terrific!
Thanks for the tutorial and it's good to see you sewing again. Love you and you've truly been missed.
The colours go well together. It's nice
Thank you very much:)
Very nice Jean! I hope you're feeling better 🎉
Thanks Jean. I'm going to try and make a template out-of cardboard... love the way you pit this together. Thank you. Hugs...
I used quilting template plastic for mine.
Thanks so much, Jean, for the demo on your hexagonal quilt! I missed your “rambling,” though! 🤣
It’s coming along great! Thanks Jean!❤❤❤
Thank you
Welcome!
just make half hexi or diamonds for the filler so you get a straight edge OR what I have done with my 1" hexis is I appliqued the borders under the edge of the hexis. Glad you are feeling better. Hope all is well with your family as well
Loved this tutorial, Jean, new ideas, new tips, new creations, Wow we are so blessed by you and the wonderful gifts you bring to us...Blessings on you and your family!!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for your video. I miss you sweet voice and beautiful laugh🥰
I sure hope Ian's idea is to leave the lovely finished pointed edges as is , I think it mimics a scalloped edge & you already did a binding on each hexi so your quilt will be finished in record time. Cutting
The edges is a waste of your fabric & lovely talents.
Dear Jean, thanks for the tutorial on the hexagon but I missed your cheerful chatter. Hope it’s not because you are I’ll again. Look forward to hearing you soon, love to the Trueloves 🏴
I. Looking forward to see how you put it together.
I like this block. It looks like a fairly easy pattern.
Good morning Jean, I have just watched this video, the hexagons look beautiful! But, oh no........don't cut the hexagons off to sew the binding on, if you can avoid it, too beautiful, Jean. As you said, maybe Ian's idea will work. Look forward to how you are going to construct the quilt binding. I am enjoying the fact that you are on your machine again. Sending love to you and everyone. Thelma ❤❤❤
Love this quilt technique-looking forward to seeing the finished quilt. Continued healing for you all. ❤️😁🌹🙏🏻
So nice to see you quilting again. God Bless you.
Thank you so much.
Love your videos!
Sooo nice to see you again ! The kitchen looks gorgeous 😍😍😍😍enjoy that quilt Show it is going to be amazing. Much love to all of you 🙏🙏😇😇😇😇😇
So cute. I love it!
Well done Jean it’s lovely to see you sewing again just remember not to do too much at a time as you’ll get tiered easier ❤️
I love watching you sew. Thank you for sharing your talent 😀
Hi, glad to hear you are on the mend. Check out paulines quilting world hexigon quilt she shows how to make a hexigon quilt by straight sewing the back all in one piece and then add the featured top fabric and batting and sewing using the backing seams as the binding. Cheers
Thank you Jean! Good to see you sewing again♥️
Wonderful tutorial with perfect music! I bet there are going to be a lot of hexie quilts that come from this video! Love it!! So good to see you back on your channel, looking and feeling better. Quilting truly is the best therapy!! Best to you, Ian, and Maxwell. I would love for Ian to start his own channel too!
Much rather hear you voice , not a big fan of music.but I understand. Don't forget to drink lot of fluids , these look like a lot of fun..❤
So great to see you back at your machine!
Good Evening Jean my sewing and quilting friend. Your work is beautiful, I just love it. Thanks so much for sharing it. I think I will try doing a table topper or runner. So good to see you on the other videos , take good care of yourself. Hello to Ian and Maxwell and all the family. Happy sewing and quilting to you. Love from your sewing and quilting friend faith.❤️😀🧵🪡✂️
I love this idea. Now, when I find the time, I have to make one. Thank you Jean. I hope you continue to recover. Ian as well. Hugs.
That's quite a job! Love the fabrics!
Brilliant tutorial Jean, you make it look so easy ❤
Love these hexagons. This is going to be so gorgeous!
Enjoyed watching you sew and hope I can try the hexagon too. The blue and green is very pretty together.
Can't wait to see the final quilt! I've ordered my Martelli hexagon template and am looking forward to trying this pattern. Once again you have inspired me to try something new--thanks for all your great videos.
Jean I can't wait to see the finished quilt xx
Absolutely love your color choices! Beautiful
Can’t wait for you to start putting this together. Trying to decide if I want to invest in the template.
You made it look so easy...haha..I made a paper template and i thought well i'll try it and no! i will have to invest in this template by martelli.....You have a good eye to quilt it w/o measuring...it looks great (not mine - im embarrassed how mine turned out)...🤣🤣
I look forward to seeing this quilt when it's completed. 😊💗 Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹🦉
You’re welcome 😊
Nice tutorial! I make the same type of hexagons, only much smaller.
Awesome! Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I made my sister a king size grandmother's flower garden quilt back in 2007. I broke my neck in a car accident and had to wear a collar so I couldn't look down just straight ahead. So I held them up where I could see them and put it all together. Turned out really pretty.
excellent recap video! Ican do this. TY
Love your hexagon blocks!
I vote for Martelli sponsorship also. Love this hexagon shape. Can’t wait for the video putting them together.
I really should! I DO love the things that I DO LOVE!! LOL! LOL!
Adorable hexagon
This is great! Im inspired to do one of these. I love scrappy! ❤
My Martelli 7” hexagon templates will be delivered tomorrow! Good way to use up scraps
Love it, thank you for the visual! 🥰
❤❤❤
That was a great tutorial but will you also include the zig zag part like that in the next one. I guess that is what makes me anxious!
Those are some big hexagons@
Very big!! They work up quickly:)
Could you leave hexagons as is and have a hex edge instead of straight lines?
Jean, what is bringing up the bobbin thread? I don't know about that. I love you and I keep you and your family in my prayers!!
Thanks Donna! When you start a seam or a quilt stitch, you have the bobbin thread, obviously, on the underside of the fabric and the top thread on the top. Well, 'bringing up the bobbin thread is just that....you take one turn on the wheel towards you and the bobbin thread will form a small loop on the top. You pull up that thread and then that eliminates those nasty 'birds nests' of threads on the back. Both the top thread and the bobbin thread are now on the top. It also helps to anchor a beginning stitch in quilting and eliminates the need for backstitching. Hope this helps. It DOES take a bit of practice..sometimes the tension is night quite right and you have to turn the wheel several times. But once you get it, its' a nice trick:) All the best:)
Size 5 templates. Can you elaborate, please? I've not seen these before but it looks like you'd need two sizes to get enough seam allowance.
I used Martelli templates: Here is the link, in the description it will give you the sizes the hexagon will yield. TWO pieces come in the package, the inner and the outer ring.www.martellinotions.com/hexagons.html
Wondering, do you starch with spray starch, and do you drench?
What size hexi templates did you use here ?pls

I don't sorry!! But thanks for watching me:)
Me gustaría que diera las medidas.
