I’m so happy to see another video from you pop up! You look wonderful! Those hexagons are coming out really well! Get some rest and may everyone feel 100% soon! 🥰
Wonderful to see you looking so much better. Thank you for showing these rulers. Can be used to make such a quick and easy project. Thanks Jean. Keep on the road to recovery. Oh, and getting stung is horrible. I have been stung many times. Not fun. Again, stay well. Love to the Trueloves.
So glad you are getting some energy back. Nice to hear you talking about your quilt projects again too. Thanks for taking time for your RUclips friends.
Hi Jean, so good to see you laughing and smiling again, your positivity is infectious. I’m with you on the colours green and blue, I love reds and yellows, I find them very warming. Take good care, love to you all 🏴
Just got home from the shops looking for placemats. Of course non in my fave colour of red and came home to this notification. Lol. Guess I will be looking in my stash now. Thanks Jean.
Hi zJean sending you many hugs. Loved this chat. What a great idea for a quilt or pot holders. Thanks always for thinking of us. Love to u and Ian and Maxwell. Glad to hear that you are von the mend . Hugs from your Canadian neighbor . 🤗
Hi Jean, it’s been awhile as I have been also sick. Glad you’re feeling better and I am also feeling better. Now, it’s time to quilt again. Can’t wait to catch up on the videos and tutorials.
Great to see you Jean! You sound like you're back to yourself. ❤ Thanks to your men for stepping in and keeping us upto date with your progress. I appreciate that so much! I talk about you and your channel all the time. Its funny when talking about quilting, I can rely on your instruction and send my fellow quilters to your channel.
Jean, you look marvelous. Last week I received from my son a new glass top range. It’s beautiful. I was thinking of making several hexagon trivets to set my pots and pans on. Thank you for the information. Again I thank the Lord for your recovery.
Glad you's are feeling better.. I 💞 that necklace with your blouse.. We just last night notice bees going in n out of a medium size box my son had sitting next to his porch..thanks for sharing
Great pictures! Jean is back in her sewing room and all is well with (at least a part of) the world. Wishing you, Ian and Maxwell a speedy recovery. M'wah xx. Marion in the UK.
Oh hello Jean the lovely lady, how glad I am to see you back on your sewing machine!! It is a sign that you have got your mojo back, Jean. You ARE looking so much better, your face is brighter, but take it easy and do not overdo yourself. Rest whenever you feel like it and don't feel guilty about it. Hope your lovely Ian is on the mend too. Many prayers are being answered, Jean. Thank you for coming back and we all can have fun again watching you do sewing, quilting and the fun chats, of course. Bless you Jean, Ian, Maxwell and family. Hugs and ❤❤❤ Thelma.
Thanks Thelma:) I am SORT OF back....not 100% at all, but functioning!! LOL! I am taking it steady as I do get winded and still so very tired. Looks like I'm in this for the long haul!! :) take care you two:) Love:)
Lovely to see you behind the sewing machine again Jean and I am inspired by the idea of this quilt you are making. I am trying quilt as you go just now as with my arthritis find it difficult sometimes to manipulate a whole quilt through the sewing machine. Anyways back to a dull and damp day in Wales; blessings to all your family and stay safe.
Good to see you, Jean. Glad all of you are feeling better. Here’s to a full recovery very soon! The hexie quilt is going to be beautiful - can’t wait to see it. Thx for the vid.
Jean, your looking good and on the mend. So good the see back to your quilting, I'm looking forward seeing you put the hexagon together, I figure you are going to zig-zag them together. Take care.
So glad to see you and Maxwell and Ian are feeling better. Nice to see you sewing again to. Love your fabric and the quilt is going to look beautiful 😊💖
Hi y’all, it’s good to see your getting back on top of things. Thank you for this hexi project, yours already looks beautiful and I’m excited to see your progress/finish!!! 🙏🏻💐✝️🥰❤️😀
Great idea! This would be a good project for me to use up all of my smaller batting pieces I have been saving! Very pretty! Many blessings to you and your family!
Thanks for sharing how you made those. It's always interesting seeing all the different fabrics you have tucked away. Keep on getting better all of you.
Hi Jean, we had yellow jackets once that got into our exhaust fan in the kitchen, but once the experts came the problem was solved. I’m going to check out your video where you worked on the hexagons to see you connecting the pieces together. Thanks Jean for checking in, always happy to see you. 👍❤️😊
Think I will make a quilt with Halloween fabric. Many years ago, my mother, who has died many years ago, use to watched Kaye Wood who did quilting. Kaye Wood sold a product that was like what your Martelli hexagons are. I now have the templates and plan to make a Halloween quilt and possibly a Christmas quilt. I've made smaller hexagons as mug rugs. Too cute!
As if I need another project on my quilting to-do list -- but I do want to do these large hexis! Thanks for sharing; can't wait to see your finished quilt. Love those blues! 😆
I look forward to seeing Jean show this technique again but for anyone that wants a double dose, (which I, for one, could listen to her talk all day) I found the previous video Jean did on this. That video is dated 29JUL2020, w/ title “Easy Quilt As You Go Hexagonal Table Topper”. 🤩🥰
Quick update on my hexagon template,,thank you sew much for helping me. Sew I finally received the correct size to fit my 10x10 layer cakes (4.5) is the size stamped on my hexagon template. All I need is extra fabric for the background to make the same quilt as you made. And they are also going to send me the 2.5 sew it can fit on the 5x5 charm pack. Am sew excited to get started
Wonderful! I'm so pleased it got sorted! I think YOUR template is a better size since it fits perfectly on the 10" squares...as I said mine was slightly to large, but I fudged it and made it work! :) All the best! )
Loving the colours and fabrics you have chosen Jean. I have the smaller hexi template from a different supplier her in the UK and LOVE it. Could you please do another tutorial once you have worked out how to fill the small gaps around the sides of the quilt? I'm quite new to quilting and I'm totally stumped with it, I need to add a border but can't do that until the gaps are filled. So glad to hear you're feeling better, the energy will come back in time. I had a similar thing happen to me over 10yrs ago, the pleural pneumonia put pressure on my heart, leaving me very breathless and tired. Once the infection cleared it took several months for me to build myself up, the heart issue resolved itself about 2 months after the initial infection. Hopefully you'll be the same if not quicker. Rest, gentle walks and good sleep and listen to what your body is telling you ❤
Thank you Mandy. This has been quite the illness. And yes, the exhaustion is terrible. I am taking things very easy! I'm working on a short video of the process of making the hexagons! watch this space;)
Glad to hear it. As you said in a recent video so many people with previously good health are dealing with strange illnesses at the moment - strange times. Amazing, I'll keep a look out for the future video - I need all the help I can to finish my first quilt! Keep mending ❤@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory
A suggestion for finishing the Hexagon quilt. It’s just like the one block wonder quilt that you made on the edges. If that helps at all. At least that’s how it looks to me.
I love this! I want to get that! It sounds so fun. I hope you share how to finish it. I would love to see the zig zag stitch and how and what size you use. I was disappointed you can’t get it individually but the whole set for that size.
Hello Jean, so glad you are feeling a bit better with each day. 👍🏻 I would love to see how you use the hexagon template. Although you explained, I’m a visual learner.🥴 I’ve never made a hexagon quilt but love the look. I’m going to check out the link and see what trouble I get into. 🥰
Could you use a clear thread to zig zag the pieces together? Leaving more of the color on the boarders showing. Glad to see you doing some sewing again. Good to hear you all are on the mend.
Hiya! Jean I am glad you feel better. I am doing okay, I am still not finish with my row and row quilt ha ha! this weekend I am going to ASL convention in SC. I love your strawberry necklace! where did you get it from? I liked quilt as you go. it is fun to make it and easy to do. he he! Tell Ian and Maxwell I said HI! ty.. Take care! Love Sis Shannon
Thanks Shannon:) I got my necklace a few years ago from TJMaxx. They have nice costume jewelry as well as some good stuff:) The convention is awesome!! Enjoy:)
Hi, Jean, that will make a lovebly quilt. Love your dress where can I find one just like it. it looks great on you. I love the red and the black together.😊
I really want to make the hexagon quilt and I ordered 2 different hex templates and the first one was huge and second one is 5” by 2.5 hex , what size is your hexagon template that you use in your tutorial not the little one the little bit bigger one ? Is it from Martelli?
www.martellinotions.com/hexagon-template-5-65-individual-wfussy.html Hopefully this helps. My template has the number "5" in the center. I'm not sure what that means. But this listing is the closet that I can see is my size. It is quite large, as you see in my videos/use, but to be sure I would contact Martelli (which is where I got them) and ask specifically for the size you need. As in my video, the INNER part of my hexagon was just slightly larger than my 10" squares, but I made it work, as the outer portion/border, compensated for that shortage. I do hope this is of help!! All the best Cathy:)
I have the JUKI TL 2200 QVP mini which is a mechanical straight stitch machine. I love it!! I also have the JUKI QVP Quilt Virtuosa Pro 2000 which is a computerized machine. They are BOTH fabulous machines. JUKI all the way for me:)
Is it the same size of the one I used? If so, I too found it just slightly larger than my 10 squares, but I made do with it, cutting off about the 1/2" or so around the template. It didn't matter that much as the outside edge was caught in the turn over 'binding'. Hope this helps.
Oh no! Mine has the number 5 on it. Geez...I'm not sure HOW they do their measurments. But I do know that the one I have is just slightly larger than the 10" square. The INSIDE mat piece I mean. The outer ring is larger, that is why I had to use larger bits for the backing fabric.
Thank you for your help,I did call Martelly and they sent me an email return label, I also sent them the 10×10 fabric that I want the Hexagon to fit ,I was just going to take it as a loss..
I’m so happy to see another video from you pop up! You look wonderful! Those hexagons are coming out really well! Get some rest and may everyone feel 100% soon! 🥰

I think the zigzag edges will look really nice, no extra cutting or piecing , the edges will be finished already , just easier it seems
Hi Jean glad you are feeling better.. I would love to see how you make these potholders from scratch also quilt as you go.
A suggestion for finishing the Hexagon quilt. It’s just like the one block wonder quilt that you made on the edges. If that helps at all. At least that’s how it looks to me.

Clear thread would work well, but you know me....I'll probably use white!! LOL! LOL!
Oh yes please show how to finish your beautiful quilt.
Coming soon:)

Hi, Jean, that will make a lovebly quilt. Love your dress where can I find one just like it. it looks great on you. I love the red and the black together.😊
I got my dress at Burlington Coat Factory here in PA. Not just coats, but other stuff too:) Thank you very much:)

Will you sew them together?
Yes, with a zig zag:)

Jean please help. I just received the 9-10 inch hexagon template but it's extremely large that it will not fit my 10 inch layer cakes
Is it the same size of the one I used? If so, I too found it just slightly larger than my 10 squares, but I made do with it, cutting off about the 1/2" or so around the template. It didn't matter that much as the outside edge was caught in the turn over 'binding'. Hope this helps.
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory on the template, it has 9 stamped on it. So when I measure it on the cutting mat it's about 20-21 inches wide
Oh no! Mine has the number 5 on it. Geez...I'm not sure HOW they do their measurments. But I do know that the one I have is just slightly larger than the 10" square. The INSIDE mat piece I mean. The outer ring is larger, that is why I had to use larger bits for the backing fabric.
I've read your email about just how large your template is. Can you just return it to Martelli and either switch out or get your money back?
Thank you for your help,I did call Martelly and they sent me an email return label, I also sent them the 10×10 fabric that I want the Hexagon to fit ,I was just going to take it as a loss..
