About Liveview - I have a Canon S3, which is a compact ultrazoom camera with electronic eye viewfinder and a tilt-swivel display. I NEVER use the display except for situations where I can't use it (overhead, from the surface, over an obstacle, ...). Having the camera supported by hands AND by the face is much better than holding it in just two arms bent in the most unstable angle.
I got the 450d today, I was impressed how easy and good quality images it takes compared to point & shoot cameras. its my first dslr camera and its amazing ! recommended.
Live view is no gimmick... i have a 40D and liveview is very useful when you are taking long range shots (1000mm with a 2x converter) on a tripod.. or for close ups.. i have a 350d (rebel something) too so i can compare :) the 40D is better but i still like my rebel .
Going into photography as a beginner is all about learning how to use it properly..video would only distract you in what you're doing. Maybe i'm old-fashion , but i was never bothered not having a video-camera ..i am always too busy in making just that one great picture ... I do really think it's way better first to learn proper techniques before going into video with a dslr ...
I have a question.Does it cause any damage if we take off the lens and then just clean a little bit the space inside the canon that looks like a mirror ? Could somebody tell me that . It would help me a lot sorry for my bad english
Is there a way to capture the zoomed in image exactly like in the live view screen? Because when I capture it in zoom in, it captures the image in zoom out mode. (sorry, i'm still a newbie in this field.) :D
hi fi3re youre totally correct. Turner495,should buy a 400D (whats that as a Rebel??). its a great camera for someone new to D SLR's and good for money.
well its not a GIMMICK exactly, im sure its useful. just like the eye sensor the XTi had. but for Turner495, he says he's on a budget, and i meant that i'd recommend XTi as the pictures you take would look just as good. btw im not saying XSi is a bad camera at all just not worth the extra money...
actually china is involved one way or another, parts are always made in china and they they are either assembled in Japan or engineered there...it is cost effective.
honestly, how often do people hook upp the computer in a "hi-tech" style in the livingroom and prepare flowers in this case, and snap photos that way? I don't think so. Funny "elevator" music in the video, "BUY NOW by calling: one-eight-hundred.. .. .! hahaha
Don't be fooled! Live View is just a gimmick! Used it once & thought it was awful, number one it drains your battery & number two it's so hard to focus! What Canon really need to do is fit a movable LCD display on the camera, problem solved!
i have an XTi and find almost NOTHING i need that XTi does not have that XSi does, save for live view. people have been taking pictures without live view for decades...just look through the viewfinder....one word for you...gimmicks

I'm considering buying this camera. Should I?
I'm a single lens newbie and the live view function would be really helpful.
I have a Rebel XT right now. Is this camera a lot better than the Revel XT and worth upgrading to it?
Im getting one as soon as they deliver
Do you recommend it? I'm probably gonna get one this week.
looks like a good deal to me. check out the xs also.

Is it that bad? I'm used to point and shoot cameras, so I like having an LCD display, but this camera will be my first DSLR.
@username33671 do you find the 180 degree shots are worth the price?

Hey there! Have you considered photo sfxart tricks (do a search on google)? My friend Chris made some incredible pics with their video tutorials.
i'm always thinking that cat might scratch the lens..
how about spending your money on a better lens then getting another body? remember glass comes first!
Ok, that's probably why good lenses cost so much. :P
OMGOMGOMG CUTE KITTY.
That poor kitty is being traumatized by that lady...
actually china is involved one way or another, parts are always made in china and they they are either assembled in Japan or engineered there...it is cost effective.

Not really. Pretty much all decent lenses are made in Japan.
There making it too easy now....
pretty lady on this video,,,
why she use too much a makeup chair on her whole face,,,
i love her natural eyes, face, lip without a makeup chair
