      I think it’s really weird. They would try to make it look like an LS engine cover. I think they should be proud of the fact it’s electric and make it look like an electric engine cover. Just doesn’t make sense to me. I understand they’re trying to sell this product to non-educated people but in that situation they might’ve just put a hellcat in and paid Dodge for the use of it and they would’ve made more money

When this car is 10 years old, these things will be worthless, as all the gizmos are failing, spare parts will be insanely expensive, and the battery will have maybe a quarter of the mileage available. Assuming no inflation, If you buy an EV for $60K today, in 10 years you (or the poor sucker you sell it to) will have to pay at least $20K for a new battery, and maybe another $10-20K to replace the mammoth infotainment screen (if they still make them) and the over-engineered door locks etc. - why would you pay almost the value of a new car to refurbish an old one (and HOPE that you solved all the problems).

    We owned 2 Model S cars, a Gen 1 and 2, and now own a Lyriq. All of these cars have their strong points. I am not in favor of air suspension or AWD which our Lyriq doesn't have, although the Model S does have a slightly better ride because of air suspension. No Tesla has a luxury interior while Cadillac has been designing those for 120 years or more and the interior of the Lyriq wins hands down. The GM Supercruise is more positive, as is the overall handling of the Lyriq. Pricewise, the upgraded Lyriq was about the same as the Gen 3 Model S, so it's maybe not as value priced as some think, considering the advantages of the Model S. My wife wouldn't drive the Tesla but loves the Lyriq which has a lower front and is easier to understand.

    Warranty ... Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty
    4 Years / 50,000 Miles $67,215 / Lyric Lux3 AWD
    VS
    8 Years / 150,000 Miles $72,000 Blue Model X
    If they matched the Tesla warranty, I might have considered a Lyric but

    • @mikelemoine4267
      @mikelemoine4267 19 дней назад +1

      Yeah that is my biggest concern with any domestic is the short warranties. They don't give longer ones because they know their cars will fall apart before they run out. Kias/Hyundais have their issues, but at least they stand behind their stuff. My Jeep came with a 5 year 100k warranty. I only had 50K at 5 years but it rapidly started falling apart, as I am sure was their intention.

    I'm not a fan of the Full Glass Roof on any car
    since a Hail Storm 2 years ago. $1.3K not covered by
    car insurance.
    I hope the Caddy (all of them)has a Glass delete option?

    • @mikelemoine4267
      @mikelemoine4267 19 дней назад +1

      It sounds like your insurance company screwed you. They know by the VIN what options the car has and they know sunroofs, pano roofs and convertibles can get trashed during hail storms. Even metal roof cars can get banged up. I had a Ford Thunderbird back in the 90s that got hail damage on the hood, roof and trunk lid in a storm and they quoted $4700 back then to fix it. I cashed the check and bought another one, and kept the damaged one as a beater for work.
      Nowadays, the insurance companies would just total a car with any significant damage, whether glass roof or metal. They get so much for them at the auction due to exporters, rebuilders and parts scarcity that they end up coming out ahead by totaling them instead of fixing.

    As a Model Y Long Range owner, both of these look awesome and I agree with everything that Hoovie was pointing out. I'm in need of another vehicle and looking at all of the options out there. Sadly, what's really needed and no one has done it yet is a EV version of the Honda Odyssey.. which blow my mind. The first company to make that happen will crush that market segment. Honda hasn't even offered an Odyssey in a hybrid yet, which is disappointing. Awesome video as usual! Keep up the great work guys.

    • @mikelemoine4267

      My daughter has a Sienna Hybrid and it's been great so far. I guess Honda doesn't want to invest a bunch in the minivan market as Toyota and Chrysler have so many out there already and people are leaning toward SUVs more and more. Minivans do come in handy when you need them though.

    For most people either of these are plenty fast & being cheaper gives them an edge but Feels has been doing this for a minute so there's that. Competition is what will make them all better. One thing I've noticed about EVs is they try to WOW ya w/ all the light shows & gadgets that'll probably give you problems. Ill stick w/ my V6 Cadillac,its perfect for me.

      No, it still is basically a better version of a Tesla. But still.. not worth the money. It's missing a lot of features that by the time you try to add most of them back in with options and packages, just spend a little more for the Cadillac. Typical GM trim and package levels, same as it has been for decades. Always get the base model Cadillac or Buick versus a loaded Chevy as you get a better vehicle for only a little more or no extra money. (plus better resale value and things like included leather)

    Well, the main problem they’re having with EV’s is not the cars itself. I actually went to an EV charging station when a couple guys were trying to charge and the biggest problem is when you try to pay you have to go onto an app and have the time it’s so difficult to do that and then when you try to charge, the chargers don’t work or they’re not giving out the voltage that they’re supposed to and a lot of owners told me that that’s where the frustration is. It’s not really the range per se and the vehicle itself. They need to perfect those charging stations. The infrastructure needs to get better, but if you can charge it at your house, that’s the best way!
    So with that being said I’m holding off I’m buying an EV until that infrastructure gets better but who knows how long that will take! Now Tesla on the other hand has charging stations that are pretty much has perfected them so yeah

    The Honda Prologue is built on the same platform. I got the VW ID4 because I don't want version 1.0 of a car. The ID4 had been out for a few years and had 2-3 iterations to improve. I like the way the Prologue looks more than the Blazer, I like Camaros but I don't think everything needs to look like a Camaro. The Cadillac does look great though, the motor compartment looks really well done! Ford should take notes.

  • @PDLM1221

    Yes they are both good looking vehicles! But I wouldn’t compare to the MD X seems like another type of car or SUV , I don’t understand why they have no Frunk ? Yes Tesla’s look different they don’t claim to be car like they are planned to be different and A note I saw a another RUclipsr who was in a repair or service shop and the mechanic pointed out the difference between a ICE vehicle compared to a electric vehicle. They found out the tires wear differently because of regeneration and suspension is different than a ICE vehicle so if they just convert a ICE vehicle to an Electric vehicle it won’t work correctly. I was amazed at the difference.

    • @Thankz4sharing
      @Thankz4sharing 14 дней назад +1

      I expect an EV to have a frunk. Not just because it is useful, but more that it shows that it wasn't just a recycled ICE design.

    If both GM cars are simply different trims of the same platform, why is the Blazer compared to the Y and the Cadillac compared to the X. It seems like the Cadillac is probably more comparable to the Y Long Range. The Y and X are two completely different vehicles.
