According to Maids, this video was one of their top 2 tough shooting because it was very cold and windy shooting on the beach in March🥶 They said this experience made them bear the making of the Warning! MV😁

Welcome back Chief!! I find it hard to believe that you haven't gotten to this tour de force rocker from the ladies, thought you'd covered it a couple of months ago, Well my memory is definitely shot...This is one of my favorite Band-Maid tracks, it is just spellbindingly good-so much ENERGY, POWER and so intense and relentless isn't it? And good on you for mentioning the stellar vocals by Saiki and Miku, I have to admit that the music tends to be so compelling that I don't always concentrate on the singing as much as I should. I think this should always be in the top ten of songs to listen to get into their material. It is epic! I also have to commend the production staff who did this video, it is absolutely incredible what they did with all of the fire, great editing etc etc, top notch! What I marvel at is how if I haven't heard a Band-Maid song in perhaps a couple weeks it usually knocks me out all over again as if it was the first time! It happened with "Thrill" again-they are so good it's kind of hard to fathom just HOW good sometimes. Well, glad that Gary asked for it the 50 millionth time--Mr. Holloway you are on top of it sir! I'll have to take a look see at all of their songs you've reacted to and will find another gem for you Chief! Hope things are going well for you, take care and---crack on mate!!

Oh yeah--I saw the movie too---more exposure and yes, World Domination PO indeed! I just got my World Domination CD a few days ago and am enjoying the hell out of it. Only have a couple of albums left. Apparently Misa Misa went wild at home watching "Blooming" from what she wrote in her fan note. Got all crazy-as well she should! Ahh yes, Band-Maid being movie stars-love it!
A Band-Maid song you should do is "Rinne" it's got a bit more punch than other songs.

Great choice. Love this video as well as the brilliant song (do they ever give us anything else?!). As usual, whereas with other bands it's "1, 2, 3, 4...let's go!", with Band-Maid its "1 - GO!". Nothing cheers me up faster than listening to a Band-Maid song and it's always nice to see they uplift others too - we know you're smiling widely behind the mask! Stay safe and happy, Chief! I don't know what it is, but Kanami seems to throw her craziest solos into their lighter songs. Just like with 'Daydreaming'. Maybe it just stands out more in those songs.

MISA MISA MISA! an absolute BANGER yet it isn't even in my top 30 they have such a strong catalogue that a song of this calibre is not in my top 3rd of the songs
There are those of us who would be ok with you doing nothing but Band Maid. But its alright to give those other bands a little time too. But like a first love, BM will always be the one you go to for the best memories. Oh, IMHO.
You are correct. With their discography he could spend many happy hours just on Band-Maid. Just saying. 😉
I agree; I get tired of people instantly repeating over and over, almost by knee-jerk rote, that their new stuff shows how they've progressed, how much better they are, how they didn't write their own early stuff, etc., etc., which sure, objectively, is probably 100% true, but to me, it feels like a totally a back handed compliment to how all their freaking awesome early songs SOUND. I absolutely love early Band-Maid, honestly quite a bit more than their latest album.
True. I love the harmonies they had in the earlier stuff. Don't get me wrong i love all their songs, but these earlier albums were gold IMHO.
I'm on board with your opinion on their early stuff---it's top notch too! I love ALL of their years of music!! ALL HAIL BAND-MAID any time!!
@@Marcus_C51 You really get a feel that the musical talent was already there from all of the power trio. Saiki was getting a feel for this type of music. I feel very fortunate to own these early classics.

They were excellent from the beginning, their first Album "Maid in Japan" is a bit different and more poppy-er from their current heavier sound from "New Beginning" and on, but the inherent talent as Musicians was there from the start. Miku just knew one Genius musician, that ended up knowing other Genius musicians...
And the rest is rock history. A "miracle band" as Akane has said in interviews.
@@johnrowland2887 Yes, that is so true-rock history, I think this band is going to be in the legendary category if they aren't already! I'm inclined to think that's the case right now! Akane said that they are a "miracle band"? Absolutely, I tend to think that there were spiritual forces at work behind their formation.
@@Marcus_C51 Definitely forces that are beyond my puny comprehension. There is a quality to their music that I have never heard before and I have been listening to all genres of music for over 40 years. Stay safe and keep rocking.
@@johnrowland2887 Yes, that quality to their music is such that it really escapes any pragmatic analysis. I'm a veteran guitarist and I find that no matter how much I delve into each individual member of the band, their excellence still doesn't explain how astounding the effect of listening to it is. The sum is SO much greater than the parts with them it's unbelievable. Obviously you've got about as much experience in listening to music as I do and I too am sort of gobsmacked at how they hit you on so many levels. To listen to literally 8 bars of "Thrill" for my first exposure and be so blown away by their power was incredible! They are so special that I can't really understand how anyone can listen to one song and not at least acknowledge how good their musicianship is. And here is a band that sings most of their lyrics in Japanese and I find their songs compelling not even understanding the lyrics! Enough English is sprinkled in at times which was a great move. Some songs I've looked up the translations, some I don't feel the need to. Some people I guess can't get past their maid outfits, all I can say is they are really missing out! @@Marcus_C51 I really appreciate your insights and your point of view. Others have mentioned that they get teary eyed listening to the music and don't even know why. i count myself as one of them. I have enjoyed many artists over the years but have never connected emotionally to the songs like this band. I don't understand the lyrics but looking at the translations most are powerful messages of strength and perseverance which I think we all need during "these unprecedented times". In my opinion the maid outfits just add a little spice to the formula. Thank you for replying.
Good review. Their very 1st album “Maid in Japan” has some songs that are a lighter pop rock sound, but still good and there are still some excellent tunes. By their 2nd & 3rd albums their heavy hard edged sound was fully formed. Nonfiction Days is one of my favorites. During the slow vocal breakdown part, it’s Miku that sings the part, even though the video shows Saiki singing it. Kanami’s scorching solo is amazing. A cool early song you should review is “Freezer” although you’ll have to go with the studio original, as I haven’t seen a good quality live version.

Sorry, but I can only take so much apathy towards excellence. I mean, just listen to this song! The Non Fiction Days has been out since May, 2016 yet they only have 416K YT subs after 8 years with more than 100 incredible songs like this one, and hundreds of live concert performances. Thanks to all the viewers who know how to recognize authentic, fantastic music and who support Band-Maid in some way. And thanks Chief, for covering another Band-Maid rocker!

That doesn't make any sense to me either-I try to do my own PR for them as much as I can, because my belief in them and their music is so strong! This song keeps getting better with every listen for me and I've heard it easily 50 times. (I'm in my first year of being a Maidiac) Because this band is so damn astounding, usually if you have a pulse all it takes is one or two songs to get the Band-Maid magical vibe. They are a blessing to the world. And I don't want Band=Maid to be famous posthumously either!!!!

A fun band to watch improve is Liliac. They are a young up and coming rock band. And by young, I mean the band members, who are siblings ranging in age from twenty-one to thirteen. And they are really good. They were good enough to get kicked off the San Francisco pier and boardwalk five years ago for drawing crowds that were too large, and they have just gotten better.

Hey brother, I subscribed to you. Kanami is one of the greatest guitarist I have heard. Listen to Jimi Hendrix “Machine Gun, live at the Filmore”. Kanami has a video with a solo and the noise reminds me of Hendrix. She is just shredding, with amazing feedback.

To be honest I do believe they have some bad songs, certainly on their first album. Hardly their fault though, since all the songs were written for them. Second album also has some bad ones imo, though certainly an improvement. Their third, Brand New Maid is their first really good album, though they only wrote one song. Two of their greatest songs imo on this album are this song and Brand New Road.
