Every single person he mentions in this had to overcome some mental or physical struggle to become the legends they became. Jesse owens was a sickly child, grew up in poverty, and his mum performed surgery on him as they couldn't affird medical care. Hallelujah took 10 years to write and overcame many rejections. Sinatra had severe mental health issues. And Django Reinheadt was seriously burned and was told he'd never play the guitar again. And obviously Van Gogh!

Harry Mack said the same thing. They are both so freaking talented and Ren said in the premiere chat that he's been talking with Harry Mack and they are going to collaborate on something soon!
As a musician for 20 years, Ren's sense of rhythm is shockingly insane. He just plays around beats like no one else. It's like prog/math rock and he uses his voice as an instrument. Check out some of his live versions particularly Animal Flow if you haven't already. Ren + guitar on a bus just doing what he does best.
I think my favorite is the "Malignant/mutated" bar in Genesis -- he just slip-slides around the beat like a boss. :)
in his nas halftime retake he gives thanks to reacters by saying 'reactions supersized me' which I think really shows how humble of a person he is which is nice.
I do watch all of your ren reactions but I am sorry that I had to give for Joe a miss, I recently lost a very very close friend of mine and that song is one song I cant listen to of rens so again, I am sorry I cant give you anything on that reaction but I do really enjoy watching all of your other ones. much love

It's so good to see your face again and do a fun song. Ren released 3 new tracks. The 2nd one Back on 74 /Message in a Bottle Retake is so good. It's such a vibe. It's a Ren you haven't seen yet. I would love to see you react to this soulful live performance. Ren started out at 13 producing Drum and Bass. The only reason he started rapping is because he couldn't find anyone else in hiss village in Wales.

The thing I love most was his ability to create a community. As a 51 year old Gen Xer, we/I never felt understood. Then along comes this "kid" (to me) that not only "understands" but has also drawn a true fan base of people who "get it". I feel less alone, and less misunderstood, when I see younger generations, that "understand", because I've never felt like much of the "older generations" did. There are a few of them out there, I've seen their comments about his videos. And members of this "Ren(eration?) may never meet, but it fills me with hope (kind of a rare thing for a lot of Gen X 😉) to see the community of like minded individuals, and the empathy, that have come together because of Ren.

This is my fave Ren track. He does over a dozen flows in less than 3 minutes! I totally counted. 😸
He actually started off creating beats and selling CDs of them. He got into singing because he couldn't find someone to front for him in the small town he grew up in.

As far as Ren using his voice (and sometimes his guitar) as a drum, I think you’re spot on. If he’s anything like other artists I know who made their start either through busking or playing busy bars (Ani DiFranco comes to mind), it’s a great way to get people’s attention who might otherwise just walk by or keep carrying on a conversation. It’s a way to say, “Listen to me!” Makes you feel the music right in your core where you can’t ignore it.

It’s nice to find like minded people. As someone who only tasted a small section of rap from Eminem in my younger years and mainly listens to rock, metal or jazz it was a shock for me to fall in love with Ren, but I’m down the rabbit hole and happier than I’ve ever been 😂

In interviews, Ren says he wanted to be a beat-boxer when he first started doing music.
There weren't any digital HD TVs until 2005, and they were crazy expensive. I didn't buy one until the end of 2006 when the price for a 32" went below $400.

Hi Chief, it is like letter writing, you send a big one, we all send one together, where we all get to write a sentence or so! Next day when it is hard to get up, and you need a good start to the day, then it is the right day for 'Humble', or the version of 'It's alright' that is on Ren's channel, or search for Ren and Patience. If you want to good cry, then choose the version that shows him and the guitar. If you just want a pick up, then do the one with Baby Ren lying on the racetrack. All of these will make your days manageable. Works on every following listen as well.

I think a lot of us recommend our favorite artist because we like to see ppl 1st reaction to them. Then you have Ren who's in a lane of his own because of his rap,singing, story telling abality being able to play most instruments can produce he does it all. So we want you in that rabbit hole quick with no breaks just Ren for a few weeks straight. He is the BEST artist out right now, and no one is close to him. He should be getting Grammys #1 records all over the world but we know they don't vote for the best just the most popular ones..
