99.9999% who criticize the veyron have never seen one let alone drive one.
Why would we want to? They hired an aerodynamicist to style it, and then slapped a horseshoe on the front. And it handles like a muscle car. However I do respect the speed record, even though it's now been taken by the Hennessy Venom.
Andy Cordell That rebuild Lotus or Venom or whatever did not take the record. Even if it did one day it's nothing but a death trap with no safety features. There is a reason why it's so light and it's not all thanks to being a rebuild Lotus. I can't even imagine why someone would even compare that car to a Bugatti. That would be if you never fathom what this car represents.

In terms of power and speed the Veyron is still an undisputed king. But in terms of looks and style I think the DB9 is the best. This is my dream car. I have even concidered making a 1 to 1 model of it and putting it in the garden as an art object. One problem with that, the model wouldn't make the V12 sound.

If you really think the veyron has porsche acceleration, you obviously have never seen it accelerating, let alone driving it. I'll just leave a nice figure here: 0-200 Km/h 7.3 seconds. There's not one Porsche that can do that, well not 2 years ago. If you compare the veyron at top speed to the mclaren f1 at top speed, you'll find that the veyron is a lot more stable. And I assume you wanted to express how badly the veyron handles by comparing it to a muscle car, but it's nothing like a muscle car lol. Hey lookatme I'm drifting my veyron... no not gonna happen.
Some people just miss the whole point of the veyron.

you'd be mad to get the regular Gallardo over THAT one. People diss the Veyron so much, but if you think of it. It combines Aston/Bentley luxury, Ariel Atom acceleration, and out of this world top speed.
Actually a Veyron combines high end Audi luxury, Porsche acceleration, McLaren F1 (which is 20 years old) top speed, and muscle car handling, Not to mention the styling looks to have been done by the bosses dog.

It's surprising how much an impact the R8 still has on people after all this time. Even tho people for some reason don't call it fast anymore I still have a soft spot for the V8 version
The V8 R8 is a fast car, but its not a superhero car, for example the nissan GTR is a superhero car because most people can hop in it and go stupid speeds instantly, but the V8 R8 you have to drive it fairly hard to really get all the speed out of it. That being said i wouldnt mind owning a V8 R8 because im not a boy racer trying to roll race other cars on the freeway, imao.

This VS is garbage!!! Comparing lowest class of supercars with supercar #1 in the world is just wrong. Bugatti cost almost 2 big ones and all other is in range from 100-200k. Same with speed. Same with comfort. They better spent those money to compare real competition like Lambo Aventador. That will be interesting.

So do you buy a "super car" for the performance, or the interior?? If you really, really hate the interior of the vette, which isn't THAT bad (Jeremy Clarkson loves to bitch about it) then there are plenty of shops that could give you the interior of your dreams for, say.....20 grand. Then you'd have your "fancy interior"...while destroying that R8, and still have around 40 grand to spare!!
i personally would never buy a gt3 rs. i never said its not overpriced but look on what other real track cars cost. not that much less ... track cars are generally overpriced since there is no comfort included. but like i said you dont need comfort on the track. and to the point they didnt use any other materials i dont agree with you. they changed the glas to plexiglas used more carbon ...
dude the bugatti was made for 1 thing only. to be the fastest car in the world without compromising the luxury. THATS why its so heavy. as for the 4 turbos theyre for reliability. you could have the same power with 1 turbo easily (although youd have MASSIVE turbo lag) but you dont want that in a production car on warranty. its obvious you dont like it but its also obvious youre completely oblivious to the amount of engineering that went in it. like it or not you cant deny that
Honestly, fuck veyrons. As an extremely expensive hyper car, you could get a far more exciting car with a better power to weight ratio that costs much less. As a luxury car you'd drive everyday, the ridiculous engine is not needed and you could get far more luxury for far less money. It weighs way too much and honestly 4 turbos? Why? It's so ridiculous and it doesn't sound very good. The only possible reason I could think of for getting one is if you had so much money that you just didn't care.
@trxslashdriver - when price gets this high - it really IS irrelevant - Bugatti is a fashion statement - it shows how far you are from a "price is relevant everywhere' people... there is a 670 bhp Ford Fiesta that gets 0-100 in 1.7 seconds - it's one hell of a fast car and definitelly faster then Veyron everywhere - whether in a straight line or in corners - but does it actually matter to Bugatti owners?

It's not the fastest American car. The SRT Viper is the fastest American production car.
To add to that point about the interior, the new Corvette's interior is ahead of the Gallardo and the Porsche's and the Saleen S7's interior is as bad as any interior you will find (aside from race cars), so why would you consider that? On your logic, the Ford powered S7 with a shit interior "as with all American cars" should be bottom of your list.
The only cars featured in this video with nice interiors are the £1.2m Veyron and the DB9. The Audi R8's interior is on par with an A4 , the Porsche's is shit, Gallardo's is shit. It's also quite funny that you pick a supercar built for driving enjoyment based on it's interior rather than looks, sound, speed, handling and price.
Take away Shelby supercharger and it will struggle to even keep up with r8 base v8. Forget race circuit, and let's have a rwd Shelby gt500 against a r8 v10 in a drag; ford will be busy spinning its 2 wheels while Audi grabs on every asphalt with its awd. R8 level of engineering towers above mustang any day.
im not missing the point and yes i can READ! and yes the gt3 rs is built for the track ... . and again removing the AC is NOT lazy. an AC is pretty heavy so why should they waste some hp for it? you have to think logical. what would you do to reduce weight? build it all out of carbon? just to keep the AC which you dont need on the track?
no they were lazy. say what you want about the gt3 rs but you cant say its not overpriced. youre paying a lot more for a lot less. and its not even "smart" weight loss (for example using new materials, etc.) its just a striped out porsche, you could do that in your garage for free. of course im really generalizing but thats pretty much what the gt3 rs is

yeah it uses some power when its ON. so thats just irrelevant (when youd want 100% out of your engine youd just have to turn it off). ACs weight a lot though which is why many "track" production cars dont have them...i mean porsche didnt even put door handles in the gt3 rs you think theyd overlook an AC system?
Actually he is right..... the Veyron actually makes 987hp, not the 1001 Bugatti and VAG claim because in Europe, horsepower is in measured and gauged as METRIC HORSEPOWER, which is going to be slightly less.
The 1001hp reading was a marketing thing as they could have said it makes 1000hp.... but that extra "1" makes people go crazy. Its a psychological thing.
I dont like the Veyron, it is incredible its power, but i dont like.

anyone can talk as much shit about Veyron as they want. if they drove it just once for 30 seconds they would fall in love with it instantly. they would make even a fucking tattoo of Veyron on their back. trust me guys. this video is actually much older, it has only been upped to youtube by autocar 4 month ago but i remember seeing it in 2007 or so when the GT-R was far from being released.
Also today we already have the GT3 RS Gen2, while in this vid the Gen1 was just released, no DBS just the DB9 and no LP540 Gallardo which exists today.
Besides the price, I highly doubt that the Veyron handles better than say the Porsche GT3 RS or simelar.
On the Topgear testtrack it's only ~3rd or 4th dispite the it's huge power - it's simply to heavy and the suspension to soft
Btw: the - imo - best car in general (price+performance (not topspeed) +practicality) is the Audi R8 V10

Tust me, insurance is scary on a bugatti. If you break the speedometer point on the dials, its usually around £1, but on the bugatti, £2,500, for something you can make at home.
But still, the bugatti is an amazing machine, but by no means the best, i can think of other cars i'd rather have.
I'd go for the Aston because it's luxurious and comfortable for everyday use but goes like hell if you want it to. It also seems that it doesn't shout at everyone that you're filthy rich. You ca'n't really say that about the other ones. The Bugatti is just in a class above obviously. Not really even comparable to the others in every aspect.

The Veyron is insanely loud and throaty. Just because it doesn't scream like the Gallardo doesn't mean it doesn't have a supercar noise.

the audi R8 is a far better car than the Bugatti Veyron. Its a practical exotic car. The bugatti is pointless just a waste of gas and weight. as far as the Gallardo and Aston Martin go Gallardo hands down. the Porsche is in a class of its own. i'd know i own a 1980 911 SC.
look at the cars which are 100% made for the track. you will find out that alot of them got no AC and door handles. the gt3 rs is just a "racetrack" car which got a road license and where do you miss the door handles on a track?
i mentioned i was GENERALIZING. but which other car doesnt have fucking door handles? my point is they were even lazier compared to other track cars. and yes, removing the AC is a lazy way to remove weight. not saying its wrong, but you cant deny its lazy
It may be just as fast as an Audi R8, but it's nowhere near as nice. Come one, it's a Nissan in the end of the day. Not trying to take anything away from you, or your car, but you can't put in in the same class as these machines...

the lambo sounds amazing....aston oozes class..... but the veyron is just astounding for sheer speed and acceleration.r8 needs a more powerful engine in it to put it into supercar class and the porshe looks so smooth

Comparing the price range between Bugati and an Audi R8 is a horrible way to say which is better. Obviously the car worth 900k more is going to be more superior due to the amount of shit that is in it.

nitpicking about gt3 rs' weight saving is like complaining about a porn film not having a good plot... you are missing the entire point of the whole RS model. same goes for gallardo SL.
I think what he is getting at is that your average driving enthusiast isnt gonna be doing any noticable difference in lap times with air con fitted. Especially the Nurburgring!

No, I am not stupid. And yes, it is. It does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and peaks at 212mph! That's faster than all of them except for the Veyron, and I said MOST, not ALL.
