So Volkswagen added a bunch of strengthening beams, and Volkswagen added active engine mounts. Makes sense to me.

Porsche is a fair bit more independent from Volkswagen than Audi, though.
@@NargaDestroyer This is true but mainly because the Porsche family own about half or more than half of the Volkswagen Auto Group, so they get a bit more freedom than the rest

Why do people keep watching these old clips? Because there's more entertainment in 8 minutes here than in a whole series of new Top Gear.

People who hate on the R8 usually have never driven it. It is a demon, and it promises so much more than its looks would have you believe. Just watch out for the accelerator pedal, very thin accelerator pedal

That is the 996 1st gen GT3 rs. And what jeremy is testing here, is the 997 2nd gen Turbo S. It is almost 10 years difference between these two cars.

Yeah it's turbocharged, but ultimately they make around about the same HP figures (500hp give or take), but the 911 has much more torque.

I did a track day in Vegas and the instructor did a hot lap in a Porsche Macan first. That was an SUV not at all optimized for the track, and it was still one of the most thrilling experiences ever. Watching this woman experience a supercar on the track made me remember how awesome it was.
Hands down one of the best Top Gear review!

What!!! The Old 911 996 was a zillion times better. Even as a convertible. Besides, it is prettier, sounds deeper and handles like nothing else.

Test drove the Porsche 997 a couple weeks ago, I have to say I was impressed. I never expected much from luxury cars in terms of anything really, but this car surely shocks.

Porsche uses model numbers and project numbers. Each individual vehicle is a project number and sequential numbers are usually evolutions or successors to the previous projects. Projects that were successful were badged as models and include the 356, 550 spyder, 911, 924, 944, 928, and 968. Their current super project is the 918 which is an ongoing project number. The 911 model has had many project numbers such as the 930 and 935, the 959 rally car and the current 997.
This R8 had a single clutch transmission, check out the new 2013 dual clutch upgrade it's awesome!
I just can't help but lol at how many times Jeremy has compared engines to bears. (burning bears, bear mauling etc. etc.)
There are 2 hardtop versions: one with a 4.2 liter V8, and the other with a 5.2 liter V10
How does the Turbo Convertible have a faster lap than the GT3 RS?? Sometimes these times are so confusing.
