  • In this video I take you through the process of installing a set of bar end mirrors to replace the standard mirrors on my Royal Enfield Scram 411.
I have never really jelled with standard mirrors fitted to the Scram. Being slightly wide in stature I wasn’t able to position them to get a suitable view of the rear. First attempt at a solution was to fit a pair of mirror extenders which did move them out a sufficient distance to increase the rear field of view but they just didn’t look right. So, there was no alternative other than to fit a set of bar end mirrors. Pondered whether to fit round or anvil shaped mirrors and settled on anvil shape, as I feel they are in keeping with the sharper lines of the bike. Really happy with the result and interested to hear what you think.

I actually love those mirrors. The reminder me of the bar end mirrors on my Triumph Speed Twin. They were perfect because being broad shouldered they gave good vision outside of my shoulders! Nice job mate and thanks for sharing 👍

Thanks mate, they’re a great set of mirrors, couldn’t be more pleased with how good the rear vision now is and how good they look 👍🏻

Well that's a bit easier(and I suspect, lower cost!!) than fitting the bespoke RE bar end mirrors. Very nice angular styling which certainly complements your Scram

Morning Peter, yeah I’m really pleased with how they look, I think they’ve made a massive improvement 👍🏻😁

@@MerciaMoto Yes - how did we manage without mirrors? - perhaps your generation grew up with them on your bikes. Along with left side gear change 😂

@@MerciaMoto They certainly are much better as mirrors than your original ones, same with the Hunter ones. And of course your video is excellent as always. Look forward to your extra special video now you're a firmly established Motovlogger. Well deserved my friend 👍

@@Lanes-Explorer5733 spot on there Peter, my generation has forgotten how fortunate we we're with mirrors and bikes that didn't leak oil. 😃 I've never ridden a motorcycle without a left side gear lever, I feel like i've missed out on something in life 😁

@@Lanes-Explorer5733 Thanks Peter, I really feel like i've achieved something worthwhile with this mod. I think it's because i've resolved a niggle that I've had since I bought the Scram. I thought the niggle was resolved when I installed the mirror extenders but ultimately decided that the mirrors were aesthetically awful. My nuisance caller seems pleased so that's a win too! 🤣🤣

Interesting video chap, I'm not a great fan of the standard mirror's on my scram so I've found this latest video of considerable interest!.
Now without trying to make my scram a copy of yours I've followed the link you left and then noticed the blanking plugs recommended with them, off the top of your head would you know if the thread on the standard ones is an M10?

Evening Darryl, the threads are 10mm, I’ll add a link to the blanks I used in the video description. Thanks for watching and commenting mate 👍🏻

Thought for one horrific minute there you were going to leave the original mirrors on and have an RE that looks like a Lambretta 😂
