What I’ve learned about these guys from the Ciaphas Cain series is that you should send these guys to cleanse space hulks. The number of hive tyrants and genestealers these guys just absolutely body in that series is truly impressive
Book protagonists = free boasting ground = more sales
A comet hits hard enough to push it far from the sun and doesn't exterminatus, 40k be wild sometimes
Reminder that the Valhallan 597th was the first guard regiment GW made.
Also read the Ciaphas Cain books they're really good.

Indeed there are. In fact most of them are. Theres thousands if not more regiments in the galaxy so the few ones that are worth mentioning are generally better than everyone
Skadi 2nd Infantry, though the Catachans did make a proper soldier out of one of them.
The regiments we play in 40k are just the most famous ones out of millions of other guard regiments.

I wished they had more representation in videogames and its mods.
Also. I think their tactics are more akin to Cadian or modern military rather than Mordian tactics
In older editions they had the wave tactics, which is a little funny since they are a army on a resource scarce ice planet.

No mention of the 597th? Not only are they the regiment created by the legendary hero of the Imperium Ciaphus Cain but it is the parent regiment of other notable soldier Jenit Sulla who was (according to Inquisitor Amberly Vale) the first woman to ever obtain the rank of Lady General.
First, and only, woman to attain the rank of Lady General. Her stubbornness and ferocity is so great that she was able to beat the Gothic language into submission in her own book: Like a Phoenix on the Wing; the Early Victories and Campaigns of the Valhallan 597th

Their planet was pushed by a comet? I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way.
I'm no scientist but it's believable, to me at least, that an extreme impact could at least knock a planet a bit off its axis.

You know what? When I was young I watch a cartoon about planet having Rocket engine build into them. So they can migrate from one solar system to another. I wonder why with all the technology they possess human couldn’t bother to build a machine or rocket of some sort to push planet back into the original zone
because new tech is heresy unless they discover some old shit from when people actually enjoy living

1) Imperium doesnt have such technologies
2) Why bother for one planet? After all, they're doing well
3) Mechanicus did something similar to Ullanor, but it requiered a lot of ork tech
