like when you video something in public then forget about it then get $20k lawsuit against u all of sudden years later. yay!
So true! The scrolls say the same thing lol😂
Some people just don't want fame, recognition, reputation etc. They just want to be left alone. I'm with that.
Absolutely. Early 2000’s in Australia I was approached a handful of times in my early 20’s to be on front cover of different local papers and one magazine. Declined everyone of them. Did want to be known in my city
Yep! And usually people who like fame simply cannot comprehend it.
At somepoint he was a in popular German TV Show called "TV Total" but all we know is that his real Firstname is Harry and that he was working as a Security Guy.
@@SomeNameHereIt's rumored that that was the same person, but there's no conclusive proof. They look somewhat similar, but personally I'd guess they're not the same person.
Totally reasonable to say "Hey, take the video down, I don't want the recognition." It won't be very effective, since people will re-upload, but the gesture is still symbolically important. I get that.
Totally UNreasonable to extort the video maker for €20k and claim "pain and suffering".
No one even commenting about the fact the court literally used ‘Technoviking’ as his court appointed name in documentation.
I'm not sure that lawsuit would have flown in the U.S. You have the right to know your accuser here, and he couldn't just hide behind lawyers. Sorry TechnoViking, don't sue me!

@Political Warfare bruh the fluck?
The festival this was filmed was Fuckparade, a political manifestation created in 1997 against the increasing commercialization of culture and public life and the misuse of the right of assembly by purely commercial ventures. So, it's kind of ironic that the biggest meme of the 2000's was someone manifesting precisely against what he himself ended up becoming. Therefore it's not surprising that Technoviking wasn't in favor of the exploitation of his image for commercial purposes!
I totally support Technoviking on this! (he pointed at me once)
Precisely
I absolutely agree. Technoviking is princpled.
Also, everyone characterizes his interaction with the intoxicated person was him telling the person to fuck off. He clearly told the person to sit on the vehicle and chill out. When the camera pans to the left, you can see the person sitting there. Technoviking tells him, again, to sit down with the second point. He was looking out for his community, and he did so fairly without removing anyone's right to assemble.
Yeah but at the same time, Mathias was blamed for a ton of stuff he had no part in beyond posting the original video, and the claims that it somehow harmed his image are ridiculous.
@@ElFreakinCid ofc Mathias isn't to blame for the meme phenomenon. Things going viral in social media have more to do with big tech algorithms than anything else. However, Technoviking claim to remain anonymous is nevertheless legitimate.
Actually the guy in black was heavily intoxicated, the camera is on a truck driving right in front of the technoviking, he did not ask the guy to leave he grabs him because he was about to cross the street and the technoviking sits him in the truck and tell him not to get down. he was actually babysitting this intoxicated dude. he didn't attack the girl in blue hair, he almost fell and crashed with her.
What a gentleman
You obviously dont rave dude....That was direct attack on a blue chick in hopes of getting some.
idk man. Look at his posture before he "falls". Looked to me like a lunge made to look like a drunken mistake, hence why he got manhandled.

@@CorvusCorone68 Did the joke just fly over your head?

The drunk guy stumbled into the girl and grabbed her to keep from falling. The Technoviking grabbed the drunk guy and told him to get back on the trailer he was riding on. He probably knew the guy and was trying to keep him from getting hurt or arrested for PI. If you watch closely you can see the drunk guy riding on the trailer and the Technoviking is keeping an eye on him.
It was deliberate, and even if it wasn't, he was still a dumbass for doing so.
U right
Technoviking was looking after his herd.
it was his lover he was pointing at
@@techpiller2558 I'd like to think that.
From a philosophical perspective I totally understand Technoviking
he was admired for standing up against the bullies defending the powerless without any interests
he was living life in a mental state of freedom dancing as nobody is watching projecting his energy, athletic physic and charisma without expecting to be recognized by it purposely, so his privacy obviously meant a lot for him, not everybody in the world wants to be famous, not everybody in the world is looking for a spotlight, not everybody in the world like to be laugh at for just being himself in the moment.
Maybe we should question why is it that people sometimes do the stupidest things for a little bit of fame?
why some people feel the need to be recognized for doing what's right?
why some people think everything in life depends on how accepted you are in society?

Yeah, and don't forget that this must be very irritating for most Americans (including them, who do actually not understand what Freedom of Speech means).
By the way, freedom of expression is also there to protect the personal rights of the individual. Here the German court decided that the latter is more worthy of protection, because without personal rights it is not even possible to express an opinion.
In America, anyone can (and does, see RUclips) film and publish other people in public without being asked[1]. Freedom with the brain switched off is something very nice!:) Oh and it is irritating, too ... vice versa:)
Hints: In Germany, the right to one's own image is a subset of the general right of personality protected by Art. 2 Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Art. 1 of the Grundgesetz(~= constitution). It gives the subject the power to direct the use of the image, including the right to object to publication. In ordinary national law, it is protected by the law on copyright in works of fine art and photography (art copyright law, in short: KunstUrhG) of January 9, 1907, and also Europe-wide by Art. 8 Para. 1 ECHR. Violation of the most personal area of life by taking pictures is punishable according to § 201a StGB, violation of the intimate area by taking pictures according to § 184k StGB.
P.S.: My opinion on this matter is somewhat divided. But whatever. A sincere, adult and honorable person would have done the most normal thing in the world from the start: SIMPLY ASKED! Asked for permission. Most people seem to have forgotten that these days? ...

He's a DORK
Technoviking missed his chance to become a millionaire.
While I agree with your point that he is not a meme.
A meme, while often nowadays humerous in nature is defined as an idea or behaviour, usually of cultural significance that spreads from one person to another through repetition or imitation.
So as I say I agree he in no way is a meme, however the video, his actions and demeanor certainly seem to qualify.
He destroyed a nice guy's life. I hate techno viking now
Wrong, memes are not always jokes, they are also celebration of something iconic.
I think it’s weird that Technoviking was never required to prove his identity or show up in court. How are the authorities convinced the original dancer was even behind the lawsuit, and not a money-hungry lawyer?
He wants to preserve his privacy. If his details were to be released it would go against everything he was trying to accomplish.
The courts probably ruled in favour of excluding anything that could identify him.
Imagine if his identity was disclosed and the hassle it would bring to his personal life.
If he’s happy with his life and doesn’t want it to be screwed up then you’ve got to respect that.

Think about all the things that could have been memes before the internet existed.
Memes existed before the internet. A meme is any pop culture reference that becomes commonplace after spreading from person to person ("going viral"). It doesn't require a video, a picture, or the internet.
"Where's the beef" started as advertising, but became a meme when people starting imitating it and caused it to go viral, even without any internet or any videos. Everyone understood the reference if someone said those three words back then, and it wasn't just because everyone watched the commercial. The commercial itself spread from TV, but the meme about it spread virally by word of mouth.
"E.T. phone home" and "wax on, wax off" are a couple of examples of memes from movies from the same era. Mr. T's catch phrase, "I pity the fool," became a meme back then in the same way that T-Pain's "I'm on a boat" became a meme a decade ago.
A humorous photo with a caption, commonly called a meme, is not actually a meme unless it goes viral and becomes well known enough to be "a thing." "O RLY" is a meme, but most of the things posted today as "memes" are not memes. It's not a meme if it does not go viral and become a pop culture "thing."

I recognized "Intensity" immediately. My main locker combines it with Magnus, the Wagnerian Viking. Too bad it's not a traversal.
Just to clarify, the drunk guy didn't run out of nowhere. The video is being recorded from the flatbed truck that has the sound system mounted. The drunk guy was sitting on the back. He jumped off, stumbling into the blue-haired girl and tried to wander off. The Technoviking stopped him, turned him around, and made him get back on. That's why he's pointing while looking *up*. sorry, i already copy righted it, now pay me some licenced
Clear violation of the big man's private epicness
It's like Frankenstein where the meme fought the creator
So from what I gather. They follow him because the vehicle seen in the other videos starts to drive away. They all follow the vehicle to stay with the parade. Timing was perfect on so many levels for this video to happen.
Values his privacy. Dances to techno shirtless in the middle of the town square.
Lol exactly
Technovicking starts out as fun. Then turns into an ass! Sad!
@@RipsterSA Yeah I literally just found out who he was from this video and researched it: man, really sad how people can be! Nothing worse than when people who mean no harm and try to do good get thanked by being kicked, sued and treated like a villain! He had to raise money to pay for the lawsuit!!! Man I went from being happy about this guy in the video to utterly repulsed!
@The Rock you dancing in a street shirtless IS NOT PRIVACY!!!!
@The Rock good grief.
So many crybabies on this planet.
8:18 "For all intensive purposes..." 🤣🤣
It's great how cky went from crazy abnormal footage to great history lessons.
Pain and suffering? He looks like he brings pain and suffering with him, not like he endures it.
Do you know the difference between truth and *lawyer language* ?
The loss of TechnoViking is our loss. He was a spectacular image of a man.
Got that right.
the gods called him. he's now in valhalla
I'm glad someone put Technoviking into context for me finally. Technoviking is a legend
In the original video, the guy with the black tank top who grabbed the girl didn’t actually “leave the area”. He sat down next to the cameraman. Who both seemed to be riding on the back of something watching the crowd behind them (or in front of them?) The video actually shows the guy just chilling besides the person holding the camera almost looking like he maybe under the influence of something.
8:18 "for all intensive purposes"
I think you've taken that phrase for granite. :P
Nice work, sir. Well played.
Oh for Pete's Sake!
@@mikedegrazia lol
nice! :D
Taken for "granite" indeed.. Lol. Well put dude..
"For all intensive ......."
FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES
DeepFried Oreo I was just about to write this.
THANK YOU.
OMG, this is worse than "use to" vs "used to"
@@oaney If I heard someone say "use to" I would be okay with that. That just seems like a simple pronunciation anomaly to me. Hearing someone say "all intensive purposes" is clearly a misunderstanding of the phrase that needs to be corrected so we don't wind up with a generation of people who have no idea.
Now if someone wrote out "use to" followed by something they've done in the past, we've got some issues lol.
@@DeepFriedOreoOffline Were on a channel that talks about memes and since there is a also a meme making fun of the error "For all intensive". I couldn't be sure that it wasn't intentional on a part of the creator so I didn't criticize it as I didn't want to be the only idiot not in on the joke.
Techno Viking clearly followed Kneecam No. 1 mounted on the techno music truck knowing he was being filmed.
i am surprised that the internet didn't go on a rampage to reveal technoviking's identity.
Sued for pain and suffering??
Pfft
Techno Viking feels no pain or suffering
Evangelus
Technomonkey does however feel discomfort from cramping and bloating once a month that no amount of Midol can cure
so many people become super sensitive and weak these days, it's a sad time, and a hateful one, where people hate it when others are having fun
Kurachi84 I would be mad too if a video of me blew up without me knowing and someone was making money off it without my permission. It has nothing to do with the era and everything to do with consent.
@@Sanjovalentine sorry, but even without money, he'd probably be like that, just like so many people nowadays
if he didn't care about the video being popular, he wouldn't even think about the fact the uploader got through that 1 video
also, you are right, but to try to gain from that, is what makes people so greedy, and at the cost of someone else, that's even heartless
i see your political correct talking, but money is way less important than happiness, in reality, it's just that people nowadays are blinded by the media, and think "human rights" are more important than air for others to breathe
the hateful attitude people have, especially when they can make money off of others, THAT is the problem nowadays
people would kill for some money, which is worse than ever
the fact that it's true that the "techno viking" has the rights, doesn't make it less heartless
there's 2 kinds of people nowadays, 1 that looks through money and "rights" (and hate, if needed), 1 that looks with their heart
this wasn't so bad many years ago, but nowadays, it's gone over certain limits, that people lose themselves over so called "human rights" and such... and money
Techno viking inflicts pain and suffering
if he really wants to profit, he'll go after fortnite next.
It came out today as well on fortnite 😂
Like the backpack kid did? Didn't he lose tho?
Biscuit Gidoni I think one of the "creators" of a fortnite dance actually had success in suing
Biscuit Gidoni don't quote me on that though. I'm high af and my memory is spotty lol
Alfonso Ribeiro aka Carlton from the Carlton dance tried but gave up when he knew he wouldn't win.
Hey man, i dig the fact Techno Viking can't be bought, it makes him even more legendary in my opinion.
The guy that runs into the girl doesn’t leave the area. He actually is on camera again as they dance down the road. When the camera pans you can see the guy sitting right next to the camera. That is probably why techno Viking holds a glaring stare while dancing.
I hope someone eventually does an hour long documentary including an interview wit the techno Viking. In a way he’s revolutionary. He should be proud by now.
There isn't an documentary, but his identity is revealed and has been since 2015 apparently. Gunther Ackerman. There were several articles released on it, including more modern day photos of him. He's just an ordinary dude now.
I think I saw some sort of documentary on which the techno Viking appears. Maybe my memory fails a lot, but I think he explains there that he had problems at work when someone saw the video. Now this guy makes me doubt about that, maybe I'm starting to get senile, but I could swear I've seen it...
@@Doobency Gunther Ackerman was made up.
@@CodornaPrince There's no way it's real.
@@Doobency Gunther was just a random dude that wanted easy fame that nobody wanted.
Well, I guess you can say that...
*Technoviking pillaged his wallet*
Raved then pillaged...
his sleek metallic wallet?
Moral of the story get consent before you start filming someone or before you upload a video.
I remember taking part in the 2014 FuPa where the man, the legend himself was seen again. He definitely didn't want to get recorded on videos again and denied beeing the "technoviking" when someone approched him but was a wholesome beeing and fun part of the crowd.
His dance is actually industrial dancing... particularly seen in goth scenes
That's actually true...most wouldn't recognize that unless being apart of that era and genre, such as I was...
More like Industrial-strength dancing!
They stole it from old ravers. You're not original get over it.
@@GANJAxZOMBIE am i a origina l?
@@SuperLumpyPumpkin probably.
The drunk guy didn’t leave the area. He sat down on the back of the trolley.
And probably was the viking's drunk friend ,,,but hey!!! everyone likes a good drama lol!!
... and was never seen or heard from again
The Technoviking probably wanted to keep an eye on him. I would have been intimidated if I had been in his shoes alright.
hermitcleric lol,, probably his little drunk cousin he brought with him because he has a big Viking heart
There is a photo from 2016 or 17 where Techno Viking is eating a dinner with a friend that was censored, but reminded alot of the drunk/high guy he pointed finger at.
That camera is on someone's knee? Why isn't the video moving up and down as we walk backwards?
Technoviking pointed the finger, Chuck Norris followed his order.
Techno Viking didn't need the lawsuit money. He simply points and gets what he wants in life.
What if he sues you for that video? xD
that's different. You're reporting on something, worst case scenario would be that he is forced to not earn money on this video.
Български ютубър е последното нещо което очаквах на wavywevsurf видео
After wavywebsurf
is never seen again, someone will cover his disappearance and link it to technoviking, and be sued in an endless cycle.
@@TheMikesc15 not necessarily because he could sue for defamation.
Gonna have to give him some water before he points at him
