- I never thought I would see the day where a RC Jet is the best flying airplane for a beginner to pick up and learn the hobby. But after flying this E-Flite Habu STS 70mm.. I was wrong!

Best Video I've seen on this plane and even best way for a beginner. One of our RC club guys bought one and I plan to get him going on it. He currently flies the T-28 Trojan still in safe mode and now wants a jet :>)

I have a boat and a truck always thought I would crash a plane, but you have given me confidence to get this one. I also didn't want a beginner looking plane even if that's what I should start out with. I'm really drawn to the jet. I like everything about them. It's one I could stay with for a longtime. My experience with RC has been the faster and more powerful it is the less fun it is.
I feel the exact opposite way with my boat and trucks/cars. Faster is always better! That said, this looks like a great way for me to start flying. I know I'll have one soon.

WI've just got one free from Amazon points! What reciever does it come with because I got the pnp instead of the rtf since I'm going to use my dx9 instead of the one that comes with the rtf since I fly everything else with it but I have all the as3x and safe recievers for it; would a 637t be okay instead of the flight controller?
Awesome video bro, my prime rc battery for some reason also has the green lights telemetry and I don't think its a smart battery, nevertheless it gives me the plane battery reading on the dxs transmitter, I didn't expect it to work, but it does which I found interesting, great plane the Habu probably one of the best alround planes there is does everything 👌🏼
I put a 6S Viper motor and fan in mine. It was a tight fit and the wings came off. It did a 100 miles an hour. Before she crashed. I flew at 5 or 6 times before the wings flew off.
The wing and tail are still fine. And the motor survived as well.

You can put a 5000 milliamp battery in those things, too. And they fly a little slower, but they fly well for like 6 minutes

There are other makes to the mighty pricey Eflite..
I recommend "Arrows hobby Marlin" for a small basic beginner edf jet.
It has rudder, ailerons, elevator, steerable nose wheel AND FLAPS.
Marlin is a nice fast flier. And a nice slow flier with flaps. Fly with wheels, or take them off and fly hand launched. Really can't be bettered as a basic EDF trainer.
I’ll check it out.. I like arrows after I tried my first plane by them. The F-15 twin 64mm. I have a 50mm on the way to try out now also!
@@Jays_rcgarage The Arrows Marlin is a good trainer for bigger faster EDF jets. Maybe not so good as a basic first trainer - its a bit small and not that floaty.
I am a beginner with the 1220 ranger and I have only ever broke one prop when I flew it into my leg😂

I inquired about the jet and they wanted over 450 pounds while a lot of the others were only a 100 and something pounds are they taking advantage of beginners I just can’t afford it but I want a jet that’s easy for me as a beginner?
Also , the Eflite flight simulator module for a computer and then you use your transmitter, and fly all of the Eflite line...Virtually

Get a Spectrum transmitter. Depending what you plan on flying 6-8 channel is usually a good starting point! Batteries range depending on the models you choose. I run a variety, SMC.. Spectrum.. & BOLT
I have Mastered bush planes and I'm wondering if this would be a good jet trainer? Or is it a little to basic? If so what's the best jet trainer?
If you need a RTF then this is great. On 4s it really is nice!

What kind of camera ? For the airplanes I like the insta360 go 3 for small in size but quality pictures. The 360 stuff I use the GoPro max !

A Jet that flies like a glider. Great intro for students and experience pilots that like to lawn chair low stress touch and goes.

Couple years back I had an f-18 hornet in the blue angel design , had it shipped from banana hobbies in LA to Scotland ….had it in the back garden 10 mins later the sun had melted the nose cone !! never flew it , shame it cost near on £900…I’d probably have crashed it lol it was capable of 100 mph …my first RC Plane 😂
You can actually see how stable it is. I'll have to remember this plane so I can buy it some day. I currently do not own any rc planes.

Hard to say, I didn’t have a GPS in it. I’ll find out soon though. And distance wise these go far, you won’t loose range before you loose sight of it

every time i try to get someone to fly for the first time, no matter how many times i tell them what’s up and what’s down they always do it backwards and ending up cakeing the plane it breaking the prop.

Looks like a great plane. Shame it doesn’t have retracts. Hardest thing for beginners is getting your head around how the sticks are backwards when your flying back towards you. Safe mode on beginners planes is fantastic but it does lull you into a false sense of security. Planes are moving fast and things can go bad really quick when you flick it off safe mode. I reckon a true first timer beginner is better off to fly the mini beginner planes. They don’t impact so hard if you crash.

You gotta keep the flood up on this to keep it in the air dude. It’ll fall out of the sky if you go less than 30%
that is the easiest edf to fly and I have one and have beat the crap out of it and it still flys. Great bird and thanks Jay for showing it. ITS A TUFF BIRD!!!

@@Jays_rcgarage oh yeah I have had the wing broke off, the gear, nose and everything bent and broke and glued it back on and it flies even better once I fix it. Its a beast and keeps on flying

I feel like Carbon Cub S 2 is a better beginner plane IMO. I understand the argument on the propeller, but the landing gear on the Carbon Cub S 2 is stronger and if you stuff the nose of the cub, you're less likely to break it as it has a thicker build than the jet.
Also, that DXS transmitter it comes with sucks for telemetry. I purchased a kit that came with it with the recommended battery and at full charge and turn on, it's immediately showing 1 solid one flash like yours does. It also chimes dead battery at what I could consider the last possible second because you really have the time it takes to land before you're critical if you rely on the chime. You shouldn't but it would be nice if it was an actual backup rather than whatever issue it is.
At that point then argue for the aeroscout
