TheRcSaylors hey guys, what radio does this come with.
Was hoping Abby would have flown this. :/
Matthew, we show the radio in this video. It's actually brand new!!
CAL4, Abby plans to fly this next 😉👍😃😎⚓
@@matthewturner5773 It's a new release, a DX"S". If you want to fly multiple planes or do custom setup/config you'll eventually need to buy another radio.
So glad I support you guys, you are exactly the type of people I like to support in the hobby, no drama, no hype, but fun to watch, and informative !! This is the jet I've been looking for, but it is a prerelease, and here in Canada, wont see it till September !!Thats ok, because this is going to be one hot product !! I am really looking forward to adding this to my growing RC "fleet ". Keep it up, and happy summer to your family !!
Finally this is what iv been waiting for. Only flown props never took the dive into edf but have wanted to for a long time. Great the tx works with other models with smart tec. Thanks Nate /Abs for another great vid!
That's a sweet trainer jet! Has everything!
Few points to note for others: (1) Make sure the wing hard-points in the body for the wing screws is properly glued into place - mine were but other folks found this was a problem (missing glue - QC issue) and glued them back themselves. (2) You will need to trim the front wheel control horn back a bit to keep it from contacting the plastic housing that holds the servo or it will bind/catch and not work right. HH should use a shorter control horn or just trim it back at the factory. (3) The SMART battery will come without the auto discharge setting turned on - I always set mine to 48Hours (personal preference) to help keep the battery happy. I used the XBC1000 to do this but the new SMART chargers can also do this. (4) Other who fly this plane on grass field have noted grass debris getting sucked into the fan intake and causing real problems - check it often and keep it cleaned out if dirty. Happy flying!
FWIW: Since it comes with the simulator, it would be a real good idea for new pilots to install it and practice a bit on the simulator with this plane BEFORE heading to the field for the first flight on this plane! This is my third plane in my stable (only one crash yet, minor fixes) and that is my plan.
My planes: AeroScout S 1.1M RTF (relearned to fly on it), Conscendo Evolution 1.5M BNF and now the Habu STS RTF. I also have the DX6e radio.
thoughts on installing some flyscreen in intake to prevent junk into the fan?
You're getting me closer to pulling the trigger on flying Rc! Thank you !
That's what it's all about 👍😃😎⚓
Ok, not going to lie, this jet looks sick af. I'm looking into getting into the hobby and this one is super cool
Your review inspired me to buy my first jet. And guess, this was and is a great succes! Thanks!
Thanks Maurice! Happy Flying 😁👍😎⚓
My opinion is that they finally came up with a jet that you can land without tearing up the landing gear, This is state of the art training, Not a bad price either for everything you get, try buying all this separately and see where you land then
10 minutes flying time on that battery???? Unbelievable..WOW
UMX version now please! I finally got my hands on one of the original umx habu's but want another now as its literally the best flying UMX i have ever had!
Ooh, now that would be awesome!! Wed like this in a RTF UMX version and BNF as well 👍😃😎⚓
Love to get that trainer jet. Just plain awesome. Excellent review / flight Nate & Abby!!
Bunch of my friends surprised me with this present for my 42nd birthday this past weekend! I cannot wait to fly this thing, I have zero experience with RC planes, plenty of experience/own a bunch with 6S/8s RC cars.
Love your channel by the way, very useful!
What a good deal you get a lot for 400 bucks wish this was available a few months ago before I bought a bunch of stuff including Real Flight
Totally agreed!! Bear in mind, the version if RF that comes with this is limited. Only one field and a small handful of planes. I'd still be glad if I were you about your RF purchase 😉👍😃😎⚓
TheRcSaylors this made me feel better.
@@TheRcSaylors Makes me feel better also 😊 Plus I only paid 90 Bucks for RF 8 and the transmitter on E bay much better than the 179 retail for RF9
No you dont..its shit to say the least..worst $400 bucks i ever spent!!
@@TheRcSaylors you are going to be surprised to learn, that after you complete all your training, you unlock ANOTHER field!! How cool is that!?
Looks like the trainer edition of RealFlight includes these aircraft:
Blade 230 S V2
E-flite Apprentice STS 1.5m
E-flite Habu STS 70mm EDF
HobbyZone Aeroscout S
HobbyZone Carbon Cub S+ 1.3m
HobbyZone Sport Cub S
Thanks for another great video.
That really is a neat RTF package whether you're into EDFs or not. I'd jump on something like the UMX Timber if it came in a similar RTF package.
3hrs ahead of me I'm always late to the morning shows. 😏. Very good looking jet. Looked easy to fly, but then you Alway's make it look so. This is a seriously tempting jet to wanna get. Very good maiden. So Nate did it hurt much😖😖 when you had to be QUIET so we could hear the engine❓❔❓.🤔🤔😄😄. Good shooting Abby. ⚓⚓👍💖👍⚓⚓.
With the long flight time and the larger wheels, this plane is a great one. Worth getting.
Very much agreed! Thanks for tuning in brother 👍😃😎⚓
AWW Darn, you guys are a bad influence !! This is what I need !! My next !!
AWESOME MAIDEN on a BEAUTIFUL jet!! I looked at it and am SO tempted to buy it, !!!!but you know I'm not really a plane person, but I wanna be!! Thanks Saylors for the FUN maiden!! 💟👍😘
Well keep in mind this comes with Real Flight, which I think would benefit you greatly! Of course I'd be happy to help you with setting it up 👍
@@TheRcSaylors It would also benefit me to learn how my laptop works!! So thanks Nate for your kindness!! You'll hear from me when I start building my Boeing 737 FQ 008 soon!💟
169 likes? U guys deserve way more like 1000000000000000000000000000000000
EDF version of the Carbon Cub S+ ! ...Nate, when you’re bored with that one, in a week or so, sell it to me!
Wow looks cool
Enjoyed the video and neat new airplane! It's very tempting price for a solid, value-packed RTF bundle. Quick question for someone --- does the included flight simulator incorporate the various SAF modes? Thanks a lot RC Saylors!!
note that the charger only handles 3S. You'll need a new charger if you want 4S, or to charge more than one battery at a time.
THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!👍🤟👍
Very sweet set up for sure 👍😃😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors DEFINITELY getting one of those beauties! 👍❤
Get yourself on that preorder list! These will ship in about a week or so. Absolutely amazing set up. Please consider supporting us by using our links to place your preorder. It helps support us at no cost to you. Thank you!!
Nate. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Everytime I watch your videos, I want to buy planes. I purchased the Conscendo (waiting for delivery) and the A-10 which I haven't flown yet and now with the Habu out, I find myself wanting it too. I think that's the reason I don't subscribe to your awesome channel. My wallet can't handle all the spending.
EFlite makes great products but you sell them. They should hire you as a product tester.
Stay safe and keep flying
I wish I got this before my f 16 which I crashed cuz it was a defective I love the videos
Nice and docile plane…will get one for my nephew. He’s still flying props planes. I think it’s time for him to upgrade his skills.
I've changed from wanting an Apprentice, to wanting one of these now! Thanks for the great review!
A very good Saturday morning to you all in the USA from Wellington Somerset in the uk
Thank you very much! We love knowing that people from all over the world enjoy tuning in to our videos! 👍😁😎⚓️
Well this looks like a good place to start in flying rc jets.
Nice!
Sweet beginner's set up for sure 👍😃😎⚓
Would be awesome to see y’all do another nitro! Love the channel btw
Do y’all recommend this for a 2nd plane? I’ve seen some very mixed things so I’m just curious (p.s my first plane was a aeroscout)
This plane CAN be a veryyyyy first plane..Absolutely
@@dannymccoy1783 from my experience I woulda wrecked this thing in a second if it was my first plane but I got a 4s battery now and it flys great
Nice video, can the transmitter be used for other aircraft?
Good question! Yes it can! You just need to rebind when switching between aircraft, which is about a one minute process after you've done it a few times.
Cool plane! Nice job guys!
Thanks a lot for tuning in 👍😃😎⚓
Hi rc saylors my name is simon tomlinson from UK I am 50 years old and just bought mini p51 flies great but I love jets and have just ordered the e flite habu trainer jet as think looks great keep the great videos coming
Do you have links for this plane with the RcSaylors site connection so you get something now? I want to get this plane but want you folks to get your share too...
still sounds a bit like a propeller compared with the blue angel... but it´s so nice !
Still a bit much fir me and where I could fly. The software might make it worthwhile.
Hi guys this is great jet with everything included. After watching your video ,I watched the Horizon hobby which was excellent .It showed you can buy a extra sensor (30bucks) you put in plane and it lands by itself amazing he even put the tx on the floor
Love it, only 4000 emty beer cans and I will ORDER. GREAT VIDEO.
That is very very COOL Why do I have such bad luck LOL I come across a Jet I really feel confident I could fly well pretty much anybody for that matter but its just not in my budget at $400 Hopefully soon though As always great video and very cool Jet guys 👍✌️
Great video man! One of your best.
This is a GAME CHANGER...I predict they will sell a hoard of these pups.
Well said! Absolutely amazing 👍😃😎⚓
Love watching these 3 Habu videos again. After some great advice from a great pilot and person, looks like this will be my first EDF. Thanks to both of you Nate and Abbey. God bless. Do you know if the Realflite Dongle is still a part of the RTF package?
Great plane
Just called my local hobby shop and ordered it. Excellent video. Thx.

I found a few issues with my Habu STS. With the 3S all the way forward the one strap would not secure the battery as HH had glued the straps in place preventing them from being pulled tight. I used velcro tape to help hold the battery in place. The included battery is labeled as a 4000 mAh 30C. When charged with a smart charger (with the current updates) it displays as 20C. If you only use the included charger you would never know this. I am waiting to hear back from HH customer support on this issue. After a few flights I noticed that the nose gear was loose. Upon further inspection I found that the frame securing the nose gear to the fuselage was glued in two small places and had come loose. I glued the frame securely with 5-minute epoxy. Other RUclipsrs found the wing attach points were not glued securely. My flying field has a black asphalt runway and when using the Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) I have found that this causes the plane to balloon at the same time as I am flaring to land. HH states in their videos that the LAS works best on light colored surfaces or grass. They do not say anything about the performance on dark surfaces. The plane is very stable and easy to fly. The electronic aids to help new/low time pilots are impressive. I just wish the quality control was better. Hope this helps new buyers. YMMV.
When You go to the 4S, do you have to fork out for a new ESC??
That flight time? On 3s? 🤯. Lol
That is so awesome!
love the content guys
Nice landing 👌 👍
Is there a review of the Habu included transmitter?
A comparison to the new 6 channel and 8 channel transmitters would be great.
nice plane indeed... and nice shirt :) consider wearing it during your next A10 video... however, i like the combination of plane and simulator. whoever playing with the idea to start into the hobby, i really recommend to practise on the simulator prior the first take off. it saves you a lot of money. believe me, i know what i am talking about.
Hi Nate, I'm new to this channel and RC flying. I want to buy the Habu and learn how to fly it. I have a few questions: What is the difference between RTF (ready to fly) and PNP (???plug n play???)?
Im pretty sure RTF will include the plane, battery, charger and transmitter (radio). And I guess an flight simulator that you can use your included radio (RC controller). And PNP is pretty much just the plane I think. So if you already had a radio and batteries then you'd get PNP. RTF is everything in the box in order to fly the minute you get it and charge battery.
If the plane is RTF, it means that everything needed to fly the plane comes included in the same box. If its PNP you will need your own transmitter and reciever, most of the time a battery too. If you have a bit of extra money i would advise you to buy your own transmitter as it could be used for your future aircraft, if the RTF variant doesnt have a good transmitter. Hope this helps, welcome to the hobby:)
@@roguekwads_fpv7368 You may be mixing PNP and ARF (almost ready to fly), ARF planes only come with the fuselage and wings, you would need your own servos, motor, esc etc.
I'm excited to get this jet! I've not flew successfully ever and I think this could be my first time. I'm concerned though that with all that technology on board is it really teaching you to fly? When I take it off safe to learn to fly planes without safe how will I know what to so without crashing?
I've been wanting to get an edf, never flown one. I have the Aeroscout and a UMX Radian. I am contemplating the UMX Citation Longitude, but dont like the noisy edfs, but it just looks so cool and is small and affordable to learn on. I'd love to get the F-16 or A-10, but not as my first edf. Would you recommend this over the Citation Longitude for a newbie to jets?
100% yes! The Citation and this are two VERY different EDFs. Although youd save some money on the Citation, it's so much more fragile compared to this. If you had both sitting in front of you side by side, youd have fun with the Citation, but you wouldnt be able to wipe the smile off your face with the Habu! Also, you'll LOVE getting Real Flight for free with this. Supposed to just be a promotion that wont last forever, and that's worth $80!! I would ask, if you end up buying this, please do so using our links. It helps support us at no extra cost to you. Thank you! Happy to answer any questions you might have.
@@TheRcSaylors thank you so much for the response! That is exactly what I was thinking too.
Hey Nate and Abby, Great review. I watched Abby fly her maiden with this jet. She did a great job. I have a question, that usb dongle, could it be used with a different transmitter, like a DX8 gen 2 ? Thanks
What do you recommend as my first plane ... I like the concept of a jet being former military but I have zero rc experience
over 15 mins according to the time line and still had some battery left!
You were just about to say about flying this at higher altitude. I was a guider back in the day. Could I bring this up and guide a bit? Ty
What was your total flight time on the 3s battery?
Hi!
I need some help. I am currently flying a small volantex mustang 450mm as my first plane. But want to upgrade now that I've learned to fly.
which one should I buy?
1 AeroScout S 2 1.1m
2 APPRENTICE S2 1.2M
3 Habu STS 70mm
Btw which plane handles wind best??
100% Aeroscout. The Apprentice, while a solid plane is pretty outdated. The Habu might be an awesome third plane for you, but the Aeroscout is going to take you to the next level!! Please consider ordering yours using our links, and I’m more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Happy Flying! 👍🙏😎💯⚓️
How are you keeping it so low in safe? Mine will climb to the sun if I don’t keep some down elevator and it’s still pretty high
I’m new to RC Airplanes and I have you guys to thank for me getting interested in it with your videos! I have already purchased a cheap 1s lipo beginner level airplane. It’s very easy to fly. I’m very interested in this jet from this video. My question is can I use my Traxxas X-Maxx 4s batteries in this jet. I heard you say this is 4s capable and I already have the 2 4s 6700mah batteries from my X-Maxx.
My request is that you see about the wright brothers airplane an RC model or a canard airplane you know that's the one with the little wings in the front
Did you mix it or did it come that way? Thanks
Nate, on the Habu STS, there is nothing plugged into channel 1 on the flight controller. How is the throttle being managed??? I found a light kit that has an afterburner light that is controlled via the throttle, but,....?
Awesome video I’m new in this adventurous journey that I’m about to imposed on. I’ve been looking all over the internet trying to figure out what jet I need to purchase for beginners. Will you point me in the right direction please.
Vinnie
When your in beginner mode does it turn on its own or are you manually turning it. Never flew before and just trying to figure out what I can start with. Many thanks
No it does not turn on its own
looks great . but anything new costs . so gonna wait a while .well impressed with it . bangood are bound to bring one out now ! lol
I'm not sure if Banggood will ever be able to compete with the flight simulator 😔
@@TheRcSaylors your right there they wont but it doesnt warrant one ? with begginer intermediate and expert mode , you could fly this as a first plane for me ?
What is the largest battery I can get for the longest flight time, I'm a scale flyer only not into loops, or anything like that. Like to go slow
Wow😮
Omg early i love yalllllllllllll
Very early!! Oh yeah! 👍😃😎⚓
RTF? No thanks. Don't need the transmitter. PNP? No thanks, I'd like a Spektrum SAFE receiver. I dig the simulator piece, but if only the included transmitter were the DX6e or similar...
I do wish they had a BNF version as well.
@@TheRcSaylors If you are going the PNP route, then the Arrows Viper @ $109 or EF F16 (64mm) @$159 could be a better deal. Or go BNF F16 for $179.
@@freefallnfoamy6764 Arrow Viper - NO RUDDER or WHEELS, smaller, NO SAFE - NOT a better deal - comparing apples and oranges AND to a NEWBIE who has NEVER flown an RC Plane BEFORE they would crash the Arrow IMMEDIATELY or SOON AFTER 😉
@@lvflyer6519 .... was referring to the PNP version. Habu does not seem to be 2X the value of an Arrows Viper or have higher performance than the EF-F16. It looks like a smooth, slow trainer, but I don't now, I haven't flown it. Wheels can be good or bad depending on your flying field condition.
That’s HOW big it is?!?!?! 😆😆😆😆
Does it have built in gyros?
i bought the dongle and game assuming my spektrum Dxe S would work but everything but the throttle worked -_-
with these trainer planes, instead of you flying them why not bring along a complete newbie and let them fly and see how they get on with these so called trainer controllers, be interesting to see how they cope instead of an experienced pilot like yourself 🙂 just a thought 👍👍
That is a super idea!!!!!!!! Really, why dont they?
How many channels is the dxs that comes with the habu sts?
I looked it up. The DXS is 7 channels but who knows for sure. These RTF kits usually come with reduce functionality transmitters. I'd like to see more info about this new transmitter.
I think I want one 🙏🏼
was thinking about getting a plane but i don't know how to find out about faa rules for my area. help?
AMA is an amazing resource for that. Academy of Model Aeronautics.
If I got the BNF would the DXe transmitter work ?
Sadly this is not sold as a BNF. There is a PNP version, which needs a reciever. And then yes. However you would not get the telemetry.
I bought a Viper 90 mm I am totally new to the airplane rc world! Am I in way over my head?
just make sure the battery is charged! lol First plane was a 70mm edf jet. The battery died mid flight and it lawn darted into a hundred pieces.
I’d say yes. Hold off flying it until you fly a viper in the simulator. The viper is a fast plane because of it’s wing design.
Defenetly is for experienced pilots
I couldn't find one with the flight simulation
Hi , do all pilots just press a few buttons and see what happens if so , don,t give up your day job to take me on my holiday flight . Good value for money . Ballistic .
NATE YOUR A CHAMPION . . CHECK OUT SOME OF MY RC PLANE CHASING STUFF. THE SAYLORS ARE AMAZING
Sounds like a flying whiny hair dryer. But it's cool!
where can I get the HABUsts
Here - bit.ly/2P5yZLE
Man i would buy this today if it was a little cheaper. At 400 the package is worth it yeah, BUT hh is pricing out a major section of the market. Alot of people aren't going to spend 400bucks on a trainer.
I'm not knocking the plane whatsoever, its incredible and exactly the type of edf id love to have to start a transition into edf, but at 400bucks.....dammit man....
Comes with the USB dongle too, and a Free Flight simulator. I don't think they will be offering that much longer, so I'd take advantage of that if I were you!! I know it is steep, but so worth it. The radio even works on the flight simulator!
So late in the Season, but nice jet
Flying season is year round!! Lol. Who cares about wind and snow?!
Will they offer a BNF model?
Sadly I dont think so. There is a PNP version though.
@@TheRcSaylors I saw that one I have the aeroscout and Bigfoot from watching your videos
I wish they did. The $209 for a PNP seems way overpriced. Looks like this is marketed towards folks entering the hobby.
How many $

I gotta get this 🦾
Don't understand why Horizon discontinued the best Trainer ever developed which was a warbird called the Hangar 9 RTF P-51 Mustang PTS, Progressive Trainer System. It was an awesome forgiving flyer with he ability to add flaps once the pilot gained more flying skills and confidence.
I'm probably 3 yrs too late and just now getting interested in the hobby. I can't find the deal anywhere you have described in your video with the stuff you mentioned. Everything is a separate purchase.
I totally agree Robert. The additional costs are outrageous !
@@billkeogh1591 I may eventually get the Habu. It looks to be a neat jet to fly for a beginner.
Ok...wow. Not a plane I will buy, but HH broke completely new ground with this one. An EDF that really seems to fly like a trainer is a first. Before all the linear thinkers chime in: no it doesn't have retracts. No, it's not fast by EDF standards. But every would-be pilot who just has to have a jet suddenly has an actual viable option that might keep him or her in the hobby rather than send them home after one disastrous flight. This one will drive the purists out of their minds - I love it.
Oh, and we want a video of it on 4S. :)
4S video coming right up as well as an Abby flight video 😃 Well said Rick! We love to encourage others to get into the hobby 👍😎⚓
Coll plane nice to see a trainer that also looks cool. 3s and 4s is I nice option to keep the price down on battery’s and not having retracts help to keep things from getting broke. Video editing quality fantastic as always
oh man the habu series from horizon is back it looks like the parkzone habu v1 i still have one of those and there really fun to fly to bad they discontiued them a while ago good rc review
You guys are the main reason I get on RUclips!!
