I fly mine with a 6700mah 4s pack and it still doesn't want to come down. You have to bring it down. The glide ratio on this thing is better than a Cub. The perfect trainer. Especially because new pilots tend to fly far away from themselves it is very visible to keep orientation. Every time I'm teaching someone to fly I have to bring the plane back closer because they fly it until it turns into a spec, I never did that when I was new but everyone I have taught has always let the planes get too far for my eyes. These Young Bucks have eagle vision. lol
What an amazing plane! The 18-minute flight time and only 46 amps and the landings first landing no flaps . Looks like you and Dave had a blast with this one and Dave in his classic style. Use your right finger and I don't have no right finger. I almost spit coffee all over my table And it floats like a glider. I can't get over how far you went without throttle. Take care guys. Another great video
Thanks Robert. You know one thing we forgot to talk about and I feel bad for missing it: The ground handling on this plane is REALLY good too. It doesn't want to tip over and fall on it's face every time you think about turning unlike a certain other brand's model in this category.
It is possible that you may have to shave round the landing gear covers so that is does not rub on the wheels. Mine was and it made the wheels stutter. I put the wing screws in first and the wing struts last when at the field. Also, and in my opinion it does not even need any kind of Gyro. I fly even in high winds with no Gyro. And I only started flying in August. 7 months. I also abused it one time and the wings looked wavy and it wasn’t until I landed that I realized I left the wing tube out! 😂😂😂 It’s a great plane!
Nice maiden flight gents. Looks great in the sky. This is a great plane for us older guys whose coordination is not what it used to be. Nice flying skills and great job Dave on the camera work. Keep up the good work.
This airplane is a cupcake. It flies fantastic. It's a superb trainer, No bad tendencies, The size is Perfect, It can be disassembled and put back in the box in minutes, It has an insane glide ratio. Yet on landing it does not want to float forever. You can pull back on the elevator and it still settles down nicely on the mains, what a nice airplane.
I have this plane. Been thinking about selling it because now I have a mamba 120, but it just flies so good that I haven’t been able to let it go. Plus I have it rigged up with cameras and I fly it like a 3-D plane 😂 I recommend it for a third plane because at first it is intimidating.
Have you posted any videos of your camera setup? I'm kinda looking for one of these with the intent to put a whole GPS/autopilot and camera system in it so it operates much like a search and rescue drone.
The nose gear seems perfectly appropriate for the job. You can generally strengthen anything if you really want. You could remove the oleo and replace it with a solid piece of metal. The problem you have doing that kind of thing is that if you impart energy to a device, SOMETHING has to dissipate the energy. So if you decide to strengthen the gear, now your excess energy has to be dissipated by the fuselage. Just something to think about....
Not beginners plane. You are going to crash, why spend that much? Unless you are taking buddy lessons, this should be a second plane. If you are learning solo, I would get a less expensive rtf. This is a great plane and a bit better in wind than a smaller one, however.

That's nice Dave "yes it is"

Yeah man thanks. It is a very nice flying airplane. We had a lot of fun and you're Welcome for the chuckle. I'm sorry about the coffee.🫣🤣

👍🙂
Dave called this plane a gentle giant. That's a good characterization. Very easy natured plane.
18 minute flight time holy moly that’s equivalent to a gasser.
Dave you looked like you were having a little too much fun 😅
You got that right man, Yes I was. what a fun plain to play with. 👍
@@davidpaker626 I seen that one wheel landing you had going on 😉
He was just showing off Fred!
🫣
Skillz!!!
Your videos have been a big help to me getting back into RC with modern equipment and open tx. How do you do flaps w/ sbus and reflex? Thanks!
I love scale Cessna models and this one is now on my list. Great review guys!
Yup man get the CG right and get the throws right on the controlled surfaces.Yes you are going to love this airplane. This one's a keeper.
Thanks! Have fun with it when you get it. Very easy natured model.

Definitely a good model. FMS is to be congratulated for the design of this plane.
Yes, I agree.
This is a winner. What a very good airplanes for everyone.

"I don't have a right index finger" 😂
😁
Does this plane have flight stabilization that can be turned on and off?
I am learning to fly but do you use rudder or what to land
I use rudder to align the plane on the centerline. Try to keep wings level and steer with rudder.
How did you set up those two timers on the tx16?
Is the nose gear sturdy or fragile for beginners? Can you strengthen it?

Great flyer, but for me it has 2 red flags for me.
1) its color. I hate green
2) tricycle landing gear. No place with a hard take of/landing place.
What transmitter are you using? Thanks
I use the Radiomaster TX16s with internal ELRS.
I really like this plane but I prefer tail draggers over tricycle gear. Does it come in a better color than puke green?
There’s an orange and white version. I like this green. Very contrasty in the sky.
❤Awesome ❤
Agreed. Nice plane.
POWER RANGER 🔋 😊
I got one for 40 bucks brand new at a garage sail
WOW! That's a steal.
Yall know what ppl say bout other pilots' & their need for bigger, longer sticks? 🤪.
NO! Big hands!
🤔😳🤣
He talks a big game....
😏😎
Will a ar620 receiver work with the plane or should I use a ar6610t
Gro out of in 1 flight.
You might. Not everybody will. Dave and I actually have fun flying these planes still.
@RCVideoReviews I know. I wait till wind picks up. Everyone gone and go crazy. Burn out engines in a couple days. Folks go easy on your electrics.

Even the 1220 ranger is like $250.. not sure where I should start for a first plane.. people say not to get the $80 super cub 500.

@AwesomesMan I started with a Sport Cub S2, rtf. $160.. 4 channel , very light but good.. weak motor lifespan ..don't fly in over 5 mph wind at first.
