      We all love Nick. When he speaks about communication here....Communicating....well I am not a very good speaker, I'm much better as a writer so mainly I use the video description box for what I want to get across. I do use the video part for visuals. I think we all need to communicate how WE do it best. Nick is great in front of a camera, so I see why he does that. :)

    Been watching your channel for some time but here's my first comment. RUclips can be addictive, dispiriting, frustrating, baffling, and satisfying. If I didn't enjoy the creative process so much I'd have given up long ago. Yet I battle on and enjoy the new acquaintances I'm (painfully slowly) making. Thanks for the tips!

    Appreciate this man. Starting a new long form content channel and watching your videos to help me out on the journey! For me, speech has always been a stuggle for me so creating content I struggle a bit BUT it turns out that with the "vibe" that my videos are presented my low soft speaking voice fits pretty decent and I was shocked how many people accually enjoyed that. Although, I do need to work on my communication skills and what im accually saying.

    Thanks Nick! This video is full of gems. It is also a great example of the types of videos that I struggle to execute. I can put together "how to" type videos, but put me on the screen trying to explain a topic and my videos just get boring. You have simple editing, basic lighting, limited b-roll and graphics and are not giving away an island, but it was engaging from start to end. I am sure there was a lot of time and effort into this, but you made it look easy...or at least gave me ideas to work into my videos. Thanks again!

    Nick, You know what would be cool? If you could sort the music in creator mix so that we could use it for the advice you give at 4:20. Which tracks have that build up from fast to slow, gradually getting louder to build excitement? How do we find the sections of tracks with the dynamics and the tempo changes?

    • @GavinKohAquascaping
      @GavinKohAquascaping 9 месяцев назад

      @agribusiness6780
      @agribusiness6780 I use Storyblocks to find and build my sound tracks. In there you can see the wave form of the track, you can filter for types of instruments, mood and tempo. It's worked well for me. There are also other platforms like Epidemic Sound that are less expensive if you are just looking for audio only.

    I think what I'm learning too is that when you are making videos for others it's different when you point the camera at yourself because it's always kinda more difficult to see what you're doing but easier when you're building something for a client. But I agree with the comment field being very useful. My first videos I literally had people complain my audio was really bad. But it's okay because it helped me learn.

    Hey Nick, quick question for you. I know there’s probably a simple solution, but I’m gonna ask it anyways. I know that you guys talk about having the end card with a video and thinking about how you’re gonna point it to another one of your videos. But doesn’t that mean that the next video has to already be prepared and made?
    For a newer content creator, I feel that often times when you’re a video library isn’t built up, you’re always pointing back to the exact same videos or the “next video“ hasn’t been manufactured or produced yet.
    Would you suggest still doing that but just don’t have the end card Done yet and then perhaps a week or two later when the video is produced, go back and add it in?
    Hopefully that makes sense.

      You can send people into playlists of content that you're building out. Also, when you're first getting started it's helpful to plan things out and already know how you're going to interlink your videos. But, it's not required. But, absolutely have something in your end screens even if you don't recommend something specific. It gives the most engaged viewers a clear path to take.

    I try to communicate well, but my format is essentially doing a podcast style vlog while riding motorcycles. I just don’t have much to say sometimes. In this case i do voiceovers, however, it’s still hard to get views.

    As a newb, I've been really hungry to learn as much as possible and, as you have pointed out, there are a lot of grifters out there. They remind me of the people who sold picks and shovels to the miners back in the gold rush days - skimming and scamming the dreamers. You stand out for your integrity and truly useful information. I am a subscriber on my other channel where you are my first go-to for help on this steep and challenging learning curve. Thanks and keep it up!

    Thank you for these valuable ideas and recommendations! I’ll try to follow your advice! I’ve been creating a content about Japan for almost 8 month but I still don’t have 1000 of subscribers. Hope to make some progress next year bye to your advice😉

    Just found your channel and thanks for the helpful content without the hyperbole. I am 23 days in the rabbit whole and am trying to stay calm. I see so much advice on choosing your niche but some of us are locked in to our niche. And Happy! I look forward to the journey but honestly it is hard to be patient with the process.

    By the way, Nick, how should I upload my videos? I mean, just publish them? Or unlist them first and add description and tags, or private them? How?

    • @NickNimmin

      Best practice is to upload as unlisted until you have got everything ready, then you can schedule for release.
