There was a time when I would learn about new artists and music due to it being used on RUclips videos and would then purchase their albums - now because we cannot use any of that content I never ever hear about them and haven't purchased a new album in years. I think all these copyright laws have done more damage to new artist as their work is no longer getting the same exposure it once did.. Instead they should have just made rules where you had to always put a link to the source of your content so that people could go and follow those accounts as well.
I agree . Im fairly sure no one is watching a RUclips video to listen to someones song without paying for it. That sounds ridiculous. Im sure the artists actually gain more than they lose being on RUclips. If someone openly uploads their music videos or makes a full blown music video with someones song in it then OK, but as background music on a video about kittens? Come on.

On the first point, I've found that in very rare occasions unchecking the subs box can potentially allow the video to grow to a new audience. I'll only do this when I know that my core base of subscribers wouldn't be interested in the video, but it's a trending topic and I want to make the video anyway. One piece of advice that I took from you when you first spoke about the protection and the email stuff is that if you reach out to brand first, then you know that you’ve done the official thing because you’ve gone to the official website however if after that, you get a brand-new one of them acting like they don’t know that you want to work with them you know it’s a scam because you’ve already got the thread going about that subject.

Thank you for the comment about the music and keeping a copy of the license even if it was free to use, it wasn't something I had realized.

@@DonnovanWolfFilms hahah that’s exactly what I’ve going through too. I make my music from scratch and still found somebody tried copyrighting me several times too.
Honestly, I loved the comment that you made about not using too much profanity. The reason I loved that comment, is because on some niches, it’s impossible not to say some profanity. For example, often times during the spring and summer months, I will film strong thunderstorms, hitting my area, and let’s just say that sometimes mother nature gets a little too angry for my own sanity, and a few words do slip out, especially when something startling happens, such as last year when lightning literally struck the roof of my house, creating a deafening explosion. That literally hurt my ears. I literally screamed out at F bomb, and another one as well. My viewers thought it was the funniest thing ever. Even my parents thought it was hilarious. Thankfully, RUclips didn’t age restricted, as I think. Basically they knew, even they would’ve cussed their heads off if something like that happened, and a crash of thunder so loud that their ears burned for a few minutes afterwards, had just occurred. I’ve also been known to cuss, periodically, especially when a situation looks incredibly scary. For example, I often like tracking big weather events on my live streams, and sometimes mother nature again will get a little too angry for her own good, and when I see that, my first reaction is to be like, oh shoot, meaning the other word, that’s not good.
Great information! The part about third party access and how to check through Google was super helpful, all of the video was honestly but that part I especially enjoyed
Great video, thank you. There seem to be two themes that recur, from yourself and others: a. RUclips take downs and demonitising can still be capricious, even if you follow the rules, and b. It's very, very, labour intensive to check quality. Youtubing is a full time job if you want to do it properly, and you still run the risk of your investment being trashed with no accountability on RUclips's part. You really have to be okay with that before starting.
In most cases, RUclips are going to attempt to enforce their rules in a fair manner. There can be errors, and they can get it very wrong at times. Fortunately there is also appeal processes to get you a fighting chance to argue your case if they get it wrong. I would not let the possibility of that dissuade you from making content on the platform.
As a channel newly dedicated to trying to grow and gain viewers I found many parts of this video useful. It’s very difficult to get monetized and gain viewers these days, and these little tips are very helpful
Great tips. I’ve got a small following on my channel where my subject matter is revolvers and I’ve discover that showing a firearm and a tool (like a screwdriver or hex wrench) being used to adjust a sight or attach a light the video gets yanked and a violation is reported as manufacturing or modifying a weapon. Shadow banning firearms stuff is very common. One video may get 12,000 views in a month while another video of similar length and similar product coverage gets 700 views in the first 6 hours then gets like 2 views per week for ever. There’s definitely some funny business in RUclips when firearms are involved.
We already know there are various guidelines surrounding firearms (and weapons more generally), that can affect videos to get age restricted, demonetised and more. It can be very hard to navigate, as they might seem to be applying rules arbitrarily. Its hard for automated systems to apply rules consistently because they don't work well with context. Having to appeal and get human eyes on some of this stuff on a regular basis can be tiring.
0:57 I literally just watched a video that said to uncheck that box if I'm posting a video I don't think my target audience would watch. The example they gave was if I typically post Star Wars related videos but then choose to upload a video about Spiderman, I should uncheck the box so my video doesn't get marked as a poor performing video by the algorithm. I'm not saying I agree or disagree. I just really like how this was the first thing that was called out.
⚠There are two parts to this video. The first part is the things that will get you banned, the second part is about your safety as a creator. I put time stamps so you can easily find the safety part because it's the most important. Make sure you at least watch the safety part.

@OfficialDeathway im dealling with this verry same thing. I know your right personally. I have already lost faith in youtube. How many others are paying to have movies made and getting copyright strike for makeing music from wind instraments in there bedroom?
@@DonnovanWolfFilms hahah that’s exactly what I’ve going through too. I make my music from scratch and still found somebody tried copyrighting me several times too.
Excellent video! Thank you!

I never knew you could get a copy right strike on a thumbnail glad your video was recommended to me & check it out
Honestly, I loved the comment that you made about not using too much profanity.
Great video Nick! Thanks for sharing this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I point my phone's camera/video recorder down at the ground whenever I record anything outside. And thank you for this very valuable information.
Great video Brother, pretty helpful. Thank you!
👊🏻🤓
Great video, always learning when I stop by the channel!
Glad to hear it!
excellent Video but wow.. its alot for a small beginner to take in..gonna take several watches... Your a great creator. thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed the video! 💪
As a channel newly dedicated to trying to grow and gain viewers I found many parts of this video useful. It’s very difficult to get monetized and gain viewers these days, and these little tips are very helpful
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you sir.
This journey is getting tougher everyday. God will help us🙏
🙌🏻 🤩 Thanks for the information. 🏆
You bet!
Wow this was eye opening. I always thought hashtags helped. I will definitely cut down thanks
Thank you so much for this good advice, especially for beginners as well as for all youtubers.

Great info - thank you for this!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this info... I'm new here I'll apply the principles
🤓👊
Thanks for the tips. Trying to grow a channel is tedious already, the last thing we need is to suffer any of these setbacks!
Interesting! I have been concerned about these topics for my new channel. Thank you.
Great tips & thanks for sharing
Thanks for the information about this. I will keep this in mind in the future.
