She gets her powers when her ship (or whatever she's piloting) crashes with a Kree ship but I think the part where she's restrained and being held upside down with beams shooting into her temples is the Kree brainwashing her and/or memory-wiping her to be part of their Star force.
It’s believed that he’s Mar Vel but they are hiding his name from online on purpose. He can actually be Yon Rogg which alot of people are speculating.

First thing, love this channel!! Secondly, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel was a human Air Force pilot that later worked for the CIA and became NASA’s head of security operations. There she met Dr Walter Lawson, and undercover Kree agent named Mar Vell. (Mar Vell is Jude Law’s character) During an explosion, Mar Vell shielded Carol from the blast but the radiation caused her to absorb Mar Vell’s genetic blueprint making her the first Human-Kree hybrid. She later joins the Star Force (Kree task force)
The villain in the movie is supposed to be Talos (aka Talos the Untamed, a Skrull warrior) Talos is played by Ben Mendelsohn.
Captain Marvel’s superpowers:
Superhuman strength, superhuman agility, superhuman speed, superhuman stamina, flight (she can fly around six times the speed of sound), energy absorption, energy projection (blasts), cosmic awareness (think like spider sense but on a universal scale), and invulnerability.
She’s resistant to most toxins and poisons, can survive in space. She is later granted cosmic abilities and is supercharged into an entity known as Binary (the glowy bit at the end of the trailer)
Binary has all of Carol’s abilities as well as full control of stellar energies, heat, gravity, and the electromagnetic spectrum. Binary has the ability to tap into the energy of a white hole (yes that’s right) to use her powers and can travel at light speed.
As just regular ok Carol she lacks a constant source of energy to maintain the abilities at their cosmic level but she can assume her Binary form if empowered with a high enough infusion of energy. She can absorb other forms of energy like electricity to use to augment her powers. She can’t absorb magical energy without consequences though (Dr. Strange)
........all in all, I’m crazy stoked to see this movie!! ^.^
Also music in trailer isn’t from the movie’s composer but a track called ‘Luminous and Unstoppable’ by Aleksandar Dimitrijevic. Fitting, don’t you think??
In the comics Mar Vell is a Kree soldier who becomes attached to Earth and actually works against his own people to protect Earth. He accidentally transfers some of his DNA to Carol Danvers and she becomes Ms. Marvel. In the beginning MarVell was Captain MarVell because he was a captain in the Kree military and they used that name for the character until Marvel comics got the rights to the character name Captain Marvel from DC ( also known as Shazam ) because they went too long without using the character in one of their books so the name was fair game for anyone to claim. After that he became Captain Marvel and then the accident that gave Carol Danvers her powers occurred and she became Ms. Marvel and later Binary and then War Bird.
I am not sure exactly how they are handling her getting her powers in the film, but she is human with some Kree DNA mixed in somehow. She either chose to go work with the Kree or was taken against her will, but throughout this film she pieces her past together and frees herself to make her own choices and along the way Fury loses an eye.

She is half human half cree..in comics she can beat Thanos by herself. Her name is Carol Danvers. There are many characters who adopted the name Captain Marvel, but this one is Carol Danvers. She is one of the most powerful in the MCU. She is a fighter pilot and former CIA agent. She has strength, speed, flight, energy absorption, so on and so forth. Here are details to her powers; she can use concentrated light energy, absorb energy to enhance her powers. Those are the basics. In the comics she is assigned to protect Mar vel but he has a human name, she falls in love and the cree empire sends something to kill him. She got in the way and he used his power to protect her. An explosion happened where there DNA mixed perfectly, and she adopted all his powers and abilities

yeah Thanos... took on Thor, Captain Marvel, Captain America and Hulk all by himself...they were all taking a beating...funny thing is Cap with less powers held on longer and did better against Thanos with his original shield 😜 in the comics and cartoons.
Well she DOES knock him out in the comics. Check ..Hmm, I can't remember off the top of my head, Civil War 2 ? Or what happened after... I'll have to check but I remember it clearly. Now, if he HAS the Gauntlet, different story, but without it? She can take him.
Guys as always yours is the BEST trailer reaction and THIS is my take on the trailer. I LIKE IT PERIOD!! I love the soundtrack and remember CAPTAIN MAR-VEL is a SERIOUS superhero and I like this back story. Brie LARSON fits the role perfectly and i love some of the scenes and of course Sam Jackson, a young looking SJ I hasten to add and agent Coulson. This is the follow up to INFINITY WAR and perfectly sets us up for AVENGERS 4 and the introduction to CAP MAR-VEL. POWERS unimaginable and able to challenge THANOS and save the Avengers. We have a NEW LEADER of the AVENGERS and she is a WOMAN. BRING IT ON!!

I don't think he is gonna be a threat. The Skrulls are the main villains.
Ronan will be working with starforce seeing as in the trailer Koraith is apart of Starforce and Ronan is a Kree offical the Skrulls will be the villains that's why you she Captain Marvel hit the old lady Skrulls can physically change their appearance to look like anyone

She was recruited as a member of the Kree's elite squad the StarForce. Led by Jude Law's character. Ronan is also a high ranking Kree officer. Its possible they erase their memories to keep them in line.
The Kree have been at war with the Skrulls for years. Something is about to happen that will change everything in their favour.
Could be anything....betrayal, traitors, etc.

As for her origin, the og story is she got them after being caught in an explosion that went off when Mar Vell aka Judy Law fought some skrulls. You can see that in the trailer. Im guessing thats how she lost her memory in the movie and Mar Vell probably took her back to kree home planet and trained her to become part of starforce.

I'm curious to see if the whole Skrull secret invasion that is hinted in this trailer is somehow going to tie into Captain America Winter Soldier. Robert Redford's character spoke of killing a few million to save the world from chaos. What if he was talking about suspected Skrull agents?

I just want to say that the reason why we see the Blockbuster Video store at the beginning of the trailer, is to remind us that the movie takes place in the 1990's. I'm sure that some people are aware of this , I just wanted to point that out..

She's not part of Nova Corps here, she's wearing standard green/white Kree military uniform. Recommended reading for Beginners: THE LIFE OF CAPTAIN MARVEL mini-series that started a few months ago and details Carol's early life and origin. It's only a few issues in, easy to find. Also check out CAPTAIN MARVEL: IN PURSUIT OF FLIGHT and CAPTAIN MARVEL/AVENGERS: THE ENEMY WITHIN. In the comics, Carol Danvers was an Air Force pilot who joined and left behind her family when her father told her she shouldn't waste time/money on university because she just had to marry a man to provide for her. She did a few missions with Logan and Ben Grimm before they joined Fantastic Four and X-Men. She then worked at NASA and soon afterward she met Kree soldier Captain Mar-Vell, who was supposed to scout Earth. But he decided to defend Earth instead, and the news media saw his green Kree uniform and thought he was a new superhero called "Captain Marvel." Carol helped him fight the Kree several times. He got cosmic powers later on, along with a blue/black and red costume that firmly symbolized he no longer was part of Kree military but his own person. Later, a weapon used by the Kree villain Yon-Rogg exploded and its energies caused Carol to get part of Mar-Vell's DNA, plus his powers, making her a super-powered Kree-Earth Human hybrid. She became Ms. Marvel (at times calling herself Binary or Warbird), then Mar-Vell later died of cancer due to radiation exposure during a battle. There were other Captain Marvels over the years, including Monica Rambeau (now called Photon) whose mother is the black pilot seen in this trailer, then Carol took the name officially in 2012. Carol also published a news magazine for J Jonah Jameson for a while, was a successful novelist, is a recovering alcoholic, has dated War Machine, and been close to Captain America, Peter Parker, Jessica Drew and Wanda Maximoff. Tony helped her face her alcoholism and they were on the same side during CIVIL WAR, but they've also been at odds at times. Carol absorbs light and radiation constantly, giving her Iron Man level strength, energy blasts and absorption, flight, near invulnerability, super-speed. She is basically on a Superman power level, plus military training from both Air Force and the Kree. She has been an Avengers leader, worked with the new Ultimates team, served alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Starjammers, and has led the new Alpha Flight team that defends Earth from space threats. At different times, she has had her memories blocked out or taken and had to reconstruct them, like when Rogue (still a villain at the time) stole her memories, along with her strength and flight.
I was speaking of a general level of formidability, scope of battles, etc., though Marvel writers have described her on this level yes, and Kevin Feige has said she will be generally the most powerful hero of the MCU.
Midlife Binary is cosmic level. Most of the Universal entities in both universes would own Supes. It's punching vs like matter manipulation and so on. Hulk is my favorite for example and there is a large group of characters which is pointless to compare him to.
Marvel embraces the comic panels and artists like a Bible.

Her origin story os similar to She-Ra where She-Ra a.k.a. Adora was a Force Captain of Hordak but eventually realizes that she is the twin brother of He-Man a.k.a. Adam which is a force of good then defected afterwards from Hordak and joined the rebellion. What I also like about the trailer is the BGM, it feels like alieny, outer spacey music which definitely fits the movie. This movie will be EPIC! 😍👍🏻👏🏻🇵🇭 #CaptainMarvelFTW

If you look in the background of the scene with he and Coulson in that Project Pegasus facility with the skrull on the operation table, you'll see that Nick Fury is already lost his eye. He's hold a large ice pack on it.
