Doctor Strange really has the best origin story of all MCU heroes imo. He wasn’t given his powers like Captain America, he wasn’t born with them like Thor and he sure as hell didn’t use his riches to make powers for himself like Iron Man. Instead, he had to earn his powers!

Among all the Marvel movies, Doctor Strange is the movie I'd love to see again and again. It's just.....so different. I love his origin story, how he has gone from rich to nothing and rich again, in another way. Hats off man. Ben just played a beautiful role.

Most of the best MCU origin story films have been like this. The best of them were obscure characters pretty much no one at the time knew much about. Iron Man, Guardians, Dr. Strange, even Thor.
I used to read Doctor Strange comics when I was a kid, so this film had special significance for me.
I appreciate Danny Elfman's Doctor Strange theme, but Michael Giacchino's version will always be the better one.
Elfman didn't make a new theme for Strange. He actually kept the main motif from this theme but sadly didn't use it very much.

I loved how they had this theme playing in Endgame when The Ancient One shows up
So, on a different note, I've seen a lot of "How did Strange get so good in so short a time!?" Well....he was pretty damn good up to the Dormmamu meet & greet, but no where near on par with his fellow sorcerers. But...he was in a time loop fighting against a being of near infinite strength for we don't even know how long or how many repetitions. Each repeat he got just a bit better at surviving the attacks. That's how...he used his perm-loop death as a training grounds.

According to the writers he was in the realm for a long time, which allowed him to become more powerful than when he first entered.
Walker Riley that actually makes sense and ive just never thought about it. He must have looped through an insane number of times. If Dormammu is such an ancient and powerful being, he's not gonna give up after just 20 or 30 of Strange's time loops. It could have been hundreds or even thousands of loops, which would be more than enough time for Strange to practice and perfect all of the spells he's been storing up with his photographic memory

I don't know. Most chords, when reading music, have a note on top of each Other. Like I said, I'm just guessing
Bit/super late, but it's Neapolitan chord, which is a IIb. That means it doesn't "fit", the notes in the chord are altered from what they'd normally be, and it has a very distinctive sound because of it. Idk about Star Trek, but I'm guessing its main theme has a few important ones.

I don't care if it's a ripoff of Star Trek (it's *not*). It's fucking great. Marvel has a soundtrack problem. I've seen every Marvel movie in theaters since the very beginning, and this was literally the first time I've seen people walking out of the theater humming, singing, and specifically talking about the theme music.

I didn't realize how much of an iconic composer Giacchino is until after hearing Elfman's MoM and Giacchino's No Way Home themes.
Elfman ruined Strange's theme the same way he almost ruined the Avengers Theme in Age of Ultron.

Extremely disappointed in how little MoM used Giacchino's theme, especially in how easily it could've been manipulated to suit the other Strange Variants. Danny Elfmans score was a step back into the motif-less MCU that used to exist.
Funnily enough, I thought The Batman score was forgettable and nothing as iconic as Hans Zimmer's Dark Knight. Even the music of this Doctor Strange and No Way Home were more iconic and memorable than Batman's theme.

So true, MCU finally has music consistencies going for them, and Elfman just throw everything out the window. I was so disappointed too

it's a shame we never got hear this theme again in Doctor Strange MoM.
Right before and right as he suits up for the first time, the main motif plays- one of my favorite moments in the movie because of this theme! It also plays right at the beginning for a moment with Defender Strange.
Sadly there aren't an other instances that I noticed.
@@aldanrossnagel2352 it was because Danny Elfman made the music for DS2. Its a thing in Hollywood that composers won't use music in sequels from old movies that is composed by someone else. It's the same reason why Michael Giachinno never used Tobey and Andrew themes in NWH even though they were far superior to his theme for Tom.
