    I finally did Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. I changed my mind about it, actually it's pretty nice once you identify the main melody. The video will be posted at the end of the month, after all the other Avengers extended edits.

      That’s cool that you decided to do that, you probably just had to get used to it, because I really do love both versions, they’re so different in their own ways. Giacchino’s version feels more mystical & uplifting, whereas Elfman’s version feels more magical & supremacy.
      p.s. can’t wait to hear the Avengers extended themes as well.

      @@michaelvasques4695 Yes, my 2 first listenings did not convince me, I couldn't find a main melody to it, while my latest attempt yesterday was more sort of revelation if I can say so. Now I wonder why I wasn't able to identify the main melody earlier because it does pop up many times during the whole soundtrack, and I came up with a 20 minutes suite with that theme. There will be 5 videos of the Avengers movies, including an extended version of the rejected theme by Brian Tyler that is damn good and ridiculously rejected.

    I bet you’re going to do the extended theme for Multiverse Of Madness by Danny Elfman, next huh?

    • @GillesNuytens
      @GillesNuytens  2 года назад +12

      Hello. No. I found it very disappointing. Danny Elfman is a good composer but I found his soundtrack for that movie very basic. Not bad but no melody of its own. I can't find any musical identity there. Works probably better within the movie than for a standalone listening.

      @@GillesNuytens Thought I was alone in this, everyone is going nuts over that score and I just can’t see why. It’s not bad, but when I think “Dr Strange”, this original tune comes to mind immediately.

      @@alexman378 Yes, this is "strange" 😂. This is just like the last 2 Star Wars movies (Last Jedi + Rise of Skywalker), these scores by John Williams have been acclaimed and all. But these 2 scores are basically only reprises of old and previous music... Can't get why people have acclaimed them as much. No new material at all, just old melodies rolling over again and again (which is nice but I would have liked new ones too...).

    Should have been Christopher Young on all installments of Doctor Strange, instead.

      @@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat I could just imagine, like maybe during the Schumacher era, or I also heard that after when WB dropped Burton out, the choices for directing before Joel Schumacher got the job, choices were John McTernan and Sam Raimi, and the franchise from that era continued it’s dark and gritty atmosphere, Young easily would’ve been the perfect choice for composing aside from Elfman. Another composer that I think should’ve been given a chance to score a Batman film is James Horner, he could’ve worked aside with Hans Zimmer for the TDK trilogy, instead of that other James guy, who composed with him on the first two films.

      Horner? Nah. Love James Horner, but darkly operatic foreboding mystery isn't really his forté - he's more about demonstratively emotional grandeur, I'd say. James Newton Howard was better suited to collaborate with Zimmer.
      James Newton Howard is pretty awesome in his own right. He's singularly composed many classic scores.
      As for other alternative composers for Batman besides Christopher Young - I'd easily entertain Trevor Jones (Dark City), Marco Beltrami (Hellboy), Greame Revell (The Crow), Howard Shore (LOTR), Carter Burwell (Fargo) or Dario Marianelli (V for Vendetta).
      Generic Giacchino can kick rocks.

      @@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat y’know what, I think you’re right about that, Idk why I didn’t think of that, I actually really really love JNH as composer in his own right, I actually had nothing but praise for his share take on composing the Nolan films alongside HZ, though the reason I thought that JH would be perfect to do Batman’s music, is well let’s just say that both Batman and Spider-Man have both pretty much been sharing composers throughout time, I always just get this weird feeling that, since Danny Elfman had composed the Burton/Keaton Batman films as well as the Raimi/Maguire Spider-Man films, Hans Zimmer had composed the TDK trilogy with Bale as well as TASM2 with Garfield, and Michael Giacchino had just recently composed Matt Reeves’ The Batman with Pattinson as well as the fairly recently MCU Spider-Man trilogy with Holland, and since Young & Horner composed Raimi Spider-Man 3 & TASM1, that’s basically what I was thinking, but in actuality you have a point of what you just mentioned.
