Are you a people pleaser? What is the most “people pleasy” thing you have done? I’ll go first. I one time pretended to be from a completely different country in order to fit in 😳
I just turned 24 and lately I’ve been letting my friend overstep my physical boundaries to the point where it could be sexual assault - but I just laugh it off. I really can’t wait to try these little steps because I’ve had enough of bending over backwards for everyone and everything :(
Was it a learned behavior for you? We’re you taught yo put others before yourself or did you observe people you respected pleasing? It can be for so many different reasons! This is such the lens I’m coming from since this is what I see most in my practice
Hi! I am new here. I LOVE this video and its content. This is my 1st step towards change. I went to your page and checked out your Playlist. Which one has the continued videos on this subject? Please & Thank you 🙏❤
So what about when the people around you (but in my case, especially the men) react in an exaggerated, overly sensitive way when you do finally set a boundary?
Hi @Micheline.Maalouf, I am watching this video after 1 year of posting it. I need your help. I was a people pleaser not because of a chaotic family or trauma, I actually don't know how I became people pleaser. I wanted to come out of it and tried by saying no, tried to take out my opinions. Now I am not anymore like earlier in my workplace and the circles outside my family. But when it comes to my family members I think I am still the same person only. Even if I don't want something, I actually agree or sometimes I try to take out my opinions but it just becomes a mess. Simply I just create situations and can't handle. Can you please suggest something or make a video on it.? Some time also feel myself very rude how I was not before.
My MIL works overnight and likes to call my husband and I at 6:45-7am when she gets off. And if you answer she’s inviting herself over in the AM while we’re still in bed . Last time This happened I said yes to her coming over even though I didn’t feel like seeing her that early. I need to say no next time.
I have an autistic kid and he seems to think that I'm his dorma and he thinks seems to think that he's allowed to verbally abuse me and I put my life on hold for 29 years and I would like to know how to set boundaries with my son that feels he's an equal
Wow I am so so sorry to hear that. You have a unique situation and abuse and walking all over people is not okay no matter what the other person has or is going through. I am not an expert in working with autism but it sounds like he needs to learn how to manage his emotions and cope and self-soothe. Have you had help from experts on this?
@@Micheline.Maalouf thank you so much for at least answering me I have been abused by men and I have been raped by somebody and now I have a son who is three times my size he has so much depression and anxiety and it's just getting hard to not have time to have a relationship with him and you were right in your video about having a Polish mama who grew up and didn't have any time for love with Dad and his her mom was very mean to her and she brought it into our relationship my father committed suicide so she had two little girls to take care of and everything that she feels she has to shut it on us so I really appreciate your videos I am going to share it if you okay with that with other people that have issues like I do or depression anxiety but I really appreciate watching your video thank you for the counseling I look forward to seeing more videos from you make it a good day

I can say "no" but I feel guilty whem doing it and often it sounds not confident enough. I feel like I am doing something bad.
to be liked and accepted is actually a move to buy safety. to eliminate any danger of rejection or disapproval.
Thank you so much for this video! ❤ it was simple yet so clear to me
are you a ppl pleaser or do you go too far only on occasion, pleasing ppl?
Can we talk about how people pleasers are the most likely to get sexually harassed and assaulted??
