Good to see that you have returned back to Nanjin from the UK. The airports in China look amazing, so modern and futuristic. Makes the airports in the west look old. Once you travel and experience another Culture ( in your case China) the urge to travel never leaves you. I think you made a wise choice to live in China as an Englishman. You get to witness the rise of China as economic super power first hand.
I'm also amazed with China, it's so vibrant, cultural, and lively. A lot of tourist destinations with mountains, rivers, deserts, ancient cites, modern cities, like every corner will make you wonder.
Chengdu is a very interesting city to visit. I would arrange the return trip to stop there for a few days if I were you, especially if there are friends there to show you around.
Yeah, I’d love to visit. I didn’t have chance this time but I plan to travel to a lot of places this year and hopefully Chengdu will be one of them. I heard the pace of life is slower and more relaxed there. I’d love to head up into the mountains nearby too.
To be honest with you, some 20 years ago, I was a little reluctant to go to China due to all kinds of inconveniences. But today, it is just the other way around, I am not so enthusiastic about going back to Europe - a continent in decline.
So if a continent is struggling you won’t visit all the incredible places…. Wow. Absolutely ridiculous comment. European nations lead everything from life expectancies to safety to health of citizens, to tourism, to healthcare, job opportunities, overall innovation……. I better not visit my friend in Argentina. I must only go to places with a good gdp, 🙈
Really enjoyed watching this video Adam .❤ Great footage of your journey from West to East and your experiences along the way. Really well produced with perfect accompanying music. Really interesting ! Thanks for sharing. 🤩🥰❤❤
Yes it’s nice to see. It’s actually quite common to see some Signs of the Chinese New Year in British cities, we have massive Chinese communities and I know Manchester have a big dragon dance around the town centre and other festivities throughout the day. There used to be 10’s of thousands attending 🙂
@@middlekingdomproductions Ireland is very beautiful. I moved here from Stockholm to live with my husband. He’s from Kilkenny. Another beautiful medieval city you should visit. Sweden is very lovey too. ❤️
You should always mention "fish & chps" when you're talking about the UK😉😉 On a sidenote, n the Netherlands many(most?) of the typical Dutch "snackbars", comparable with UK fish & chps shops are run by Chinese people nowadays. The reasons are very simple, it's much easier to run a snackbar vs a Chinese restaurant and competition is very high in the restaurant business. The Dutch owner often leases his establishment to the Chinese, so he doesn't need to do the work but still gets money. In te UK small (Chinese) restaurants are also often leased btw,
@@middlekingdomproductions Some fifteen years ago I was present (in London) when a Chinese restaurant was leased to other people, that's why I happen to know that. That said the restaurant business (in most countries) is something you do NOT want to do voluntarily unless you're masochistic OR very dedicated because it's a lot of work for little gains. That's why the failure rate in that line of business is very high.
In the UK, many towns and cities do not have parks for strolling, relaxation or even doing some exercise. Then there is the constant poor weather and safety in big cities.
I agree, it is nice to be able to hold money and see exactly how much you are spending. I wouldn’t change the QR codes though, it’s really convenient 😀
I like ur video....u take nice pictures n nice angles. Actually , watching ur video makes me feel as if i'm also on tour , as if i'm also taking d subway etc. Tnx u for sharing !
I recently just moved back to New Zealand after spending 3 months in Nanjing China. The thing I missed the most is the price of food, in New Zealand similar meals usually cost 4 times as much. Strangely I am not a big fan of paying by mobile apps, in NZ the PayWave transactions is very mature and I feel it's just as convenient.
That's true, it's very inexpensive to eat here in Nanjing. I'm used to using my phone to pay now, having done it for many years. How does PayWave work?
@@middlekingdomproductions I just wave my card near a PayWave reader , which is used by pretty much all the vendors. It's super fast for making simple payment.
I'm not sure, for me the cost of living is cheap, I'm unsure about working class people here, but I imagine the issues aren't anywhere near the cost of living crisis in the UK. People in China are also able to forage and grow vegetable etc if they live in the countryside, whereas in the UK if you don't have the money to buy food you are unlikely to be growing your own.
@@middlekingdomproductions someone gotta do it spy. Every day little Chinese boys and girls say "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America...."😂🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

The whole video is my trip back to China 😂 sorry to hear that, why can’t you leave ? I hope you have chance to sort out your medical issues without too much expense. Take care 👍🙏🏻

China is a developing country, but it is more developed and powerful than all developed countries.

Great china 🇨🇳 ever beautiful peaceful freedoms country in the world 🌍
I knew the fish and chips would come in sooner or later. I also love a good fish and chip dinner.
😂 yep. I do love a British Style Indian and Chinese takeaway too when I’m home, for some reason I’ve grown to like Gregg’s sausage rolls.
Being a Chinese, its so warm and grateful seeing "龙年大吉" in Heathrow airport.

Absolute rubbish. And safety is great in big cities unless you’re in a gang or drug dealer.
The traditional Chinese music is so beautiful 😍

Train tickets in the UK are really very expensive
Yeah but you can find some good deals on trip.com if you are flexible with departure time
But Sepentza and SourMilk tell me China is awful and horrible and I shouldn't go there. Why would they tell me these lies?
