It's not a treadmill, it's not for running that's why you can't run on it. And it gives you a better workout by them not moving up and down on there own. I love it, it gives me an amazing workout and I feel like I'm getting a better one walking on this than on a treadmill, a treadmill is great for running, but the treadclimber isn't for running. It's supposed to be an elliptical and a treadmill in one. You honestly don't even seem to be know what your talking about.

      @treadmillreviewguru4347  10 лет назад +10

No one is saying the workout can't be good. When you compare the Treadclimber to a treadmill however, I don't believe there is much of a comparison. You can spend much less on a treadmill and get a better workout. I see no reason to spend so much money on the TC10.

I saw one of these in the thrift store today and I tried it out there and the thing I noticed is the tread belts are to short I felt like I was going to fall off and I also thought the peddles go up and down on their own. but for $175 I thought it was good. plus you can feel the burn quick

This was hardly a review, just complaints. It seems that the individual who purchased this did absolutely no research on the product, what it does and what it's intended for; no wonder his friends shoe got stuck, operator error. To review a product you need to be completely unbiased, he stated only cons, no pros, after watching this I would never trust his reviews of other products.

This is a terrible review, and I think it was very misleading. I was looking to get more information on how to use mine and clicked on this... maybe the streak would have happened if he was using the emergency safety key? Also, you get an amazing workout with this. 30 minutes and I am dripping sweat only going at 2.0. Have you used this machine for any length of time, or just bought it to shit on it?

I got mine off of offer up for 15O the TC10. I am sweating bullets by 15 minutes pouring by 30. I'm trying to do 30 a day. I think 2.2 should be the limit on speed if you want a effective work out. I love a stair stepper and treadmill and this doesn't hurt my knees, and I don't have to run to get results. I agree with you I do not like this review it seems biased.

At the same price point I would go with the NordicTrack X9i. I've been using NordicTrack machines for years and they have been great for me, haven't had the same problems I read about online or have to deal with customer service. If you are under 6 feet, Sole makes good machines too that are pretty affordable.

The Treadclimber is a more efficient work out. It takes less time, it's low impact and you burn more calories than with an elliptical/treadmill. This is what you are paying for. This review sucks; it's not just a treadmill. It combines a treadmill, elliptical and stepper into one.

NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!

Your review sounds biased, but I'm not sure why. I own the TC-10 and I absolutely love it. I had a beer gut, and it was literally gone in 8 weeks with this machine. I feel great, have loads of energy now, and generally very happy with my purchase. This biggest plus for me has been the weight loss. I do agree that its a bit on the spendy side, but for me its all about the results.

I don't understand why the platforms would pivot down on their own - shouldn't they be at a fixed height? When I'm hiking up a hill the ground doesn't magically lower itself underneath me. Surely the point of a climber is that you have to lift yourself up, rather than have the ground fall down below you. I might have it wrong but this looks like it's only giving you half the workout for the amount of height that you 'step' up.

The only thing I hate is the fat that you can't set the desired workout time on this unit, I mean manually for example if you just wants to set your workout for 15 minutes you can't because the minimum workout time is 30 minutes, I think is ok that treadmills comes with workout programs but they should also comes with the option of been set manually to the desired workout of the user. "ATTENTION MANUFACTURES".

I bought a slightly used TC10 BEFORE viewing this review. I'm really glad I did because this guru guy would have turned me off to this great workout machine. New TC10's are very expensive - that's why I bought a used one. I was lucky, my machine only had 50 miles on it and I paid 1/3 the retail price. It doesn't come with a lot of bells and whistles - so what? You get a great workout - and isn't that what it's all about?
I've used treadmills, ellipticals and stair steppers at the local gym; but never all three in one machine. It's great, it's low impact and you will sweat bullets.
The TC10 is the highest rated treadclimber on the market and it's Bowflex's number one seller. Enough said.

    • @rbpftw8
      @rbpftw8 8 лет назад +2

I did the same thing by buying a used one but thinking I'd have to get up to 4 mph and do 45 minutes to burn the same as I did on a treadmill. Not so - I can break a sweat in under 4 minutes on the TC10 (instead of 12-14) and after twelve minutes I'm a little whipped. I try to break it up into 2 or 3 sets as I get used to it as I am 70 yrs old.. It is a different exercise then a Treadmill.

The treadclimber hurts less than walking does, and my muscles are begging for mercy after 10 minutes at 1.5 mph. It's fantastic!

Everyone wants to lose fat (not weight) without working for it. Look up HIIT training. You can do it in 6 mins! High Intensity Interval Training. Sprint for 30 secs, jog for 30 secs - 6x, first thing in the morning. That's it. Stop all this crap. Oh and consume 1000 calories less than maintenance. So for guys, that'll be around 1500 calories. Oh and do some weight training at least 3 times per week. Keeps your muscles mass, its what burns the fat you know. Oh and, yeh you do need to work.

The sham lies in the advertising, stating that the user "could burn up to 500 calories in 30 minutes", which is patently impossible given its limitations. Having worked out for nearly 3 decades, I'm quite familiar with the effort required to burn off a given amount of calories in a given amount of time.

+Jim S. Hi Jim, thanks for sharing your thoughts. The TreadClimber is not like other cardio machines. It combines the workout of a treadmill, elliptical and stair stepper. It has been proven to burn 2.5x the calories as a treadmill. With the TreadClimber you can burn “…up to…”. Not everyone will achieve this calorie burn, but it is definitely a higher calorie burn than the treadmill. Feel free to check out success stories here from real customers with real stories: www.treadclimber.com/global/target.jsp?adID=DOXFBTRESPONSE&goto=TRCSS11

@Joseph, my friend is six and a half feet tall. Just walking in his normal stride got his shoe caught. This machine is simply too small for someone of that size. If you are over 6 feet, do NOT get the TC10. Maybe their more expensive models are more accommodating, but I personally would never spend more than $2,000 on a treadmill.

my hubby is interested in one of these because he is 300 and thought it would be better on his knees then a treadmill. after seeing your review and comparison im against it. what about the Nautilus TreadClimber? I saw a ad on u tube for them and they are different. but i can't find one. did they stop making them?

If joint pain is a concern I would go with an elliptical instead. Or a recumbent exercise bike. A treadmill probably wouldn't be your best option.

+Treadmill Review Guru this isn't a TREADMILL. this is designed to reduce joint impact and I love my tc10. get your info straight.

Thanks for the review. 'm 5'4 - female, 29. I'm in the normal weight group for my height but I'm totally out of shape. I do walk a lot on a treadmill but I can never seem to run. As a walker who just wants wants to improve her endurance, increase heart rate (aka get in better shape) - would you recommend this machine or are there better options for the price? Also, would you consider this machine tacky- easily breakable. Thanks
*fingers crossed for any negative backlash on my unability to run*

Or try to run in 0 degree weather with a baby or toddler. While having a spouse who travels for work.
So no one home to watch the baby for you to run, and too cold to safely run with a baby.

A Bowflex Treadclimber for 7 years? You should submit that to the Smithsonian. No Treadclimber used 30 minutes a day for 4 days a week will come close to lasting 7 years. Not even close. After shooting the video I looked into Bowflex and this machine has gotten negative reviews since 2003 when the Treadclimber was first introduced. I would only own a Treadclimber if it was $500. At full price it isn't remotely worth it.

Thanks for this. I was actually considering whether or not I should purchase the item.
using your own weight to make is "climb" is kinda not what I would pay thousands for. lol
    Thanks again!!

Way to go, man (sarcasm). You stood on the treads while you waited for the motor to get them up to speed. Instructions say you need to stand on the platforms on each side of the belts so your body weight doesn't burn out the motor as it winds up from zero mph, but you wouldn't bother to read any instructions before you started it up. Why would you? You just wanted to plug the NoricTrak product, I'll bet. You didn't even know what all the console screens do. I have had a Treadclimber for several years. It works great. I burn 200 calories during an intense interval workout, and have dropped 25 pounds in 5 months by using this thing 3 times a week. I'm sure you're happy with your review, though. It'll help sell a lot of NordicTrak machines, which are probably great. This one should not be bashed, though, to boost the NordicTrak.

I should have said I've had the Treadclimber for several years, but just started using it for more than a clothes rack five months ago. If I had been using it all along, I would be in outstanding shape by now. It gives you an amazing workout!

Why would anyone think an excessive machine move up and down automatically?

  • @jeffbear3075

i'd like to say I've used the TC10 and it worked great or that it sucked. But I can't because we have not even been able to use it at all.A "technician"actually came to our house to set it up for us.Not sure why some have had to do it themsleves but...He assembled it and said it was working fine.I was not home to try it.My housemate was.But was working from home that day and was too busy to verify it.BIG mistake.Later that night she tried it.No power. She called and was told the console was probably bad.3 days later the new one arrived. The same tech and another guy came out.Only to get the same results. After looking into it more the 2nd "tech"found a wire was pinched in the main wiring system.Which tells me that it never worked to begin with.So the first idiot never even tried it.SO.Another week of it sitting around and being usless and the replacement wiring harness has arrived.Am waiting on the tech.again.This time,I'm home! So far.Not real happy with these folks.$2199 later.

+John Staversky Thanks for your comment John! The review isn't representative of how the TreadClimber truly works. It is a very low impact workout, burns up to 2.5x more calories than a regular treadmill, and also has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating from users. Take a look here and and let us know if you have any additional questions: www.treadclimber.com/global/target.jsp?adID=DOXFBTSCODE001&goto=trcproducts11
