- In this video we are discussing broadhead choices for crossbows. There are tons of great options to consider, and here at Afflictor Broadheads, we have some really awesome options to choose from.
The first thing to consider when deciding what broadhead is right for your crossbow is if you want to shoot Mechanical, Hybrid, or Fixed Blade broadheads.
If you are shooting a Mechanical or Hybrid broadhead, first you want to make sure the broadhead is rated for crossbows. Then, you want a low profile option. Here at Afflictor we have a wide selection of hybrid broadheads for crossbows. The K2 mini is a very popular choice.
If you are wanting a Fixed Blade Broadhead, please check to make sure the broadhead is rated for crossbows. The next thing to consider is the cutting diameter. If the blades are large, you are at a greater risk of planing. So, a smaller cut will fly better out of the high speed crossbows. At Afflictor, we designed the K2 fixed 4 blade broad head specifically for crossbows.
At the end of the day, it may be best to purchase a variety broadheads and see what flies best out of your setup.
Got myself the 100 gr. K2 Hybrids for my deer and bear season this year. Going to be shooting them out of a Barnett Recruit. Plan to film the hunt so I'll be sure to let you guys know how I do!
Good Luck! Let us know how they do.
I’ve never shot a crossbow. I honestly didn’t know so much had to be taken into consideration when choosing a broadhead for the bolt. Thanks for info!
Im shooting those K2 fixed through my compound as well! Awesome Broadhead
I love the selection of broadheads Afflictor has to offer! I want to try them all!
Thanks Seth!
I shoot the k2 fixed through my compound! Flies extremely well and has no problem passing clean through wild hogs!
Awesome! That's what we like to hear
What about a 210fps crossbow? Should I use a smaller broadhead for more penetration?
So I’ve made the jump from compound to crossbow. I have shot Afflictor broadheads for a couple years now. Everything that I have looked at I’m not seeing any ratings for crossbows that are shooting over 400 ft./s my bolts is 485 grains with 100 grain practice tips what would y’all recommend?
Hi Chad! We highly recommend the K2-Fixed for your crossbow. It has been performing great on even the fastest crossbows. Send me an email of you would like to see some performance shots of the K2-Fixed in action from crossbows. Ccreed@afflictorbroadheads.com
Thanks!
Hi Chris, I think we met at the last Great American Outdoor Show, back before COVID-19 struck, I bought some K2's and they fly well in my old Barnett JACKAL. I did run one through a tough old hog, and it flew threw like a hot knife through butter! Still took another two areas to put him down. I've not tried them in my Barnett Raptor FX, but I'm sure they'll fly true too. Will you be opening up Spring bear hunts in Canada next year? LMK?
Hi Ron! It is hard to beat the K2-Fixed! Super tough and accurate. Congratulations on the hog. The second Canada lifts its vaccine and border crossing requirements we will be good to go.
I am shooting the killer instinct Lethal 405 with KI’s hyperbolts what would you recommend for this set up
In our lineup, I would say the K2-Fixed hands down. You also have some weight options there if you want to bump up from the 390 grains the Hyperbolts are at with a 100 grain head. I don't have alot of experience with the KI and bolt set ups, so maybe check with a crossbow group and see what some other KI owners recommend for weight options up front. Good luck!
@@afflictorbroadheads6259 thanks I have the hyper bolts and the victory bolts designed for the KI. I will order the K2 fixed blade from your website this week. I plan on buying a few different heads to see what the most accurate ones are then sink one into a deer next week
K2 fixed for me!!!!!
Will the K2 fixed blade be compatible with the Ravin bolts?
We have field staff using them with no issues. If you were to order our K2-Fixed and find that it wasn't compatible with your setup for any reason, you could return them for a full refund. Also, we have some guys who are using Ravins new HD bolts with the K2-Fixed and love the heavier setup.
I am looking for a broadhead to fly good with a pcp air rifle that begins around 450 fps 300 grain carbon arrows after 10 shots around 300 fps. Any suggestions would be helpful just didn't want to waste money on broadheads that won't work I do believe I want front of center.
We have a couple people using airbows, and they are using our 100 grain fixed heads. The Fixed-EXT and the K2-Fixed are both popular. I will see if i can reach out to some of them and get there opinions. Please email me at ccreed@afflictorbroadheads.com to continue this conversation.
Thanks!
how do i know which ones will fit my 6.5inch bolts? i bought some from amazon and theyre too small to catch the thread of the bolt
Our threads are designed for any standard arrow or crossbow bolt except for Deep 6. At 6.5 inches, I am assuming that is for a pistol crossbow?
@@afflictorbroadheads6259 what is a deep 6 and how can i know if my thread is for a standard arrow or not? Yes its an 80lb self cocking pistol xbow
What major
What retailors carry this brand of broadhead?
We are a Direct to Consumer Brand! Check out the full line on our website
The problem with three years ago is that most crossbows are 400+ now.
I challenge and defy anyone show me a better flying more durable sharper FBBH for crossbows than the 150grn Wasp Sledgehammer
Some its equal? Yes possibly but none can surpass it
Wish you would quit teaching people to shoot with one eye closed.
