@@AviationHubOfficial if you don’t mind, what kind of the app you used to make illustration of airplane with the chart during approach ? I saw it in another video sometimes
At first it seemed a bit dull what with just one angle and no cvr/atc or anything, but then it became just a great view and a perfect impression of the pilot-plane interaction. Thanks.
The speed is directly related to the lift the plane is generating, and since at low speed the lift is not enough to compensate for the weight acting through the CG the plane will descend :) I hope this clears out a bit!
Solamente 13" te han bastado para detener la aeronave. Un perfecto examen público. Desde ahora mismo te otorgo el título de piloto con una mención extraordinaria. La puntuación de *Cum Laude*
Why didn't you show that the gear was putted down at the right moment and the flaps has been putted also at the flaps 2 ,than flaps 3 ( full flaps ) when speed checked at the right moment .Like this even those who loves and like the aviation will understand each steps at the final approach of the B 737 ...Thanks for sharing this video .PS : the camera didn't show the runway center line at the final ,must put more in the cockpit 2/3 or center .
As far as I know, there isn’t really an exact figure to be honest, needless to say a touchdown with a descent rate of 750ft/min would be quite a hard one; the 150ft/min sounds very reasonable for a nice landing. I personally tend to keep it going down until 30ft, and then close gradually the thrust levers, ideally closing the thrust lever and touchdown simultaneously.
Well spotted..... Reversers are pulled just before the spoilers deploy. So it appears early........but then as a pilot you will occasionally feel the touchdown before the aircraft senses it 😉.
Nice! Skills seemed to have remained sharp despite not much flying in recent times. It would be interesting to learn how these pilots stayed in training in the first half of 2020.
I’m trying to get in touch with some spotters across different airports in order to have an outside view as well; and will definitely do! Thank you for your feedback :)
I don't have an ATPL but do know the FCTM states to land firmly as a soft landing can cause a condition called 'wheel shimmy'. That's why I'll never complain about Ryanair pilots...
@@AviationHubOfficial to be fair, the warning stated in the Egyptair FCTM is tail strike avoidance (8.34) A firm touchdown on the main gear is often preferable to a soft touchdown with the nose rising rapidly. In this case, the momentary addition of thrust may aid in preventing the tail strike. In addition, unstabilized approaches can result in landing long or a runway over run. Holding Off in the Flare The second most common cause of a landing tail strike is an extended flare, with a loss in airspeed that results in a rapid loss of altitude, (a dropped-in touchdown). This condition is often precipitated by a desire to achieve an extremely smooth/soft landing. A very smooth/soft touchdown is not essential, nor even desired, particularly if the runway is wet. If I find more evidence I'll post it. I'm not trying to prove anybody right or wrong, I would personally have loved to experience that landing.
Absolutely Nim, I really appreciate your humbleness and It would have certainly been my pleasure to have you onboard; my “nowhere in the fctm ive read such thing” refers to your statement about “wheel shimmy”. What you have posted now, I am very well aware of :)
@@AviationHubOfficial ah I apologise, I remember researching/googling importance of landing 'firmly'. I can't honrstly remember what i read but I guess if you think about it, lots of soft landings cause mainwheels to want to move against their axis. It's difficult to describe, imagine an empty shopping trolley against a full one (firm landing). I'll shut up now haha
@@AviationHubOfficial Ah! Sorry. I wasn't very clear. Were you the first officer PF? When you8 said 'have you on board', it seems like you might be? If so, my first comment came across as insulting, anybody who can land any aircraft in one piece has my utmost respect!
It’s easier to land smoothly in real life than in sims like X-Plane 11 and especially Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 as I don’t get a feeling of perspective like in real life where I look like if I was in VR when I play a flight simulator.
@@AviationHubOfficial I have a question... Do you know the flight simulator X-Plane 11? That’s what I did for flying a Aeroprakt A32 Ultra Light. The other thing is that how do I lock on to ILS with autopilot? Which button do I press? I’m guessing VOR-NAV but I’m not sure.
@@markslandingsandaviationvi3123 Hi again, last I have personally used was FSX years ago, this A32 ultra light, it is completely new to me, never heard of it before; I’m guessing your question about the ILS refers to the B737, if that is the case, the APP button will arm LOC and G/S, once they are engaged the plane will follow the ILS all the way down :)
@@AviationHubOfficial It was me who was not so clear😂 Sorry. I meant the B737:) But what do I do if I want to do an ILS approach? Like what do I write/do in the FMC?
@@markslandingsandaviationvi3123 Just click on the DEP/ARR page, you will then need to select the appropriate STAR on the left hand side of the CDU and the approach type (in this case the ILS) on the right hand side and the FMC will take care of everything!

Yes I think so
