- I saved the day! Most schools by law have to perform a fire drill at least once a month. Today was the final opportunity for my school to do it. Unfortunately, everyone that knows how to work the system wasn’t there. Thankfully, I was there and had permission to do everything!

I think the alarms should flash at least 3-4 times before the siren goes off. It always makes me jump when they go off.

my school got in trouble because one of the fire alarm and pull station in the classroom were covered with decoration
At my school one time, I had permission from my principal and my local fire department to conduct one of their scheduled fire drills. People thought I pulled it on purpose! But then after they heard what really happened, I became a legend over something small.

@@tsg931 It happened twice this year at my school. we have these exact alarms. The first real fire was in October on a friday In 7th period. I remember getting bored and just about to go on one of them unblocked games. Then all of a sudden I hear the fire alarm go off. Now we already had a fire drill already that month so we knew it was real. We evacuated the building and the fire department came (of course). We were out there for the rest of 7th period into about 10% of 8th. They cleared the building And we all went back in. It smelled like burned popcorn in there. So what happened was that someone put some french fries in the microwave with a unsafe plastic, and It caught on fire. They tried to put out the fire and when they failed they pulled the fire alarm and evacuated the building.
The next “Fire” happened on a very snowy thursday not long ago Heres my POV again. I was in 2nd period watching NFL highlights. We had a sub thay day so it was kinda a free period. Then all of a sudden I hear the fire alarm go off. Now we just had a fire drill the week before so I knew this was real. We evacuated the building And waited for the fire department to do their thing. Now I thought “A heater probably caught on fire” Because how cold it was outside. Now the fire department are just sitting around doing nothing. There was like 15 cop cars and 2 fire engines at the scene. Now the police clear the scene and we went back in. Now this is one the craziest stories I will ever tell.
A parent called the school saying “A bomb will go off in 5 minutes” The cops were called and They pulled the fire alarm. The police have launched a investigation on why then parent called
Now they’re dramatic And kinda interesting Ive experienced 7 real fire drills 3 In Elementary 2 in middle and these 2 as of my 9th grade year.
Now I will update this when there is more this year.

everyone in my class starts saying random stuff and covering their ears even though the teacher said not to cover it

and we all go outside only to be greeted by the kindergarteners and my grandpa standing there saying "oh youre in a fire drill"
What the teacher is saying is super disrespectful to people like me with hearing disorders that make everything louder and not optional to cover ears when this happens
My schools fire system sounds like a slide whisle and says "An emergency has been reported in this facility, please cease all operations and go to the nearest exit"

As a kid, the school fire alarms scared me. My school was old, so ours had buzzers rather than beeps. The newer fire alarms didn't bother me as much. One of my teachers understood that I had sensory issues (autism) so she warned me if my school would have a fire drill; she let me stand by the door. This only happened once. I actually met the fire chief before the drill, and he was very nice.

I still don't get why synced alarms are not a requirement. Unsynced strobes seem like a seizure hazard to the epileptic imo

They were never in sync at my school. Different sections of the building had different delays, and some even did different tones. That on top of it being very loud made it quite disorienting.
Code requires that they be in sync to protect people with photoepilepsy, but systems that aren't in sync are very common.
@@exoticcar5482 Where I live its code for them to be synced. In fact, the code in my province states whenever 2 or more strobes can be seen, they must be synced up.

I remember this one girl in my preschool class pulled a fire alarm (she was in preschool at the time, so she didn’t know any better) and everyone (including me) ran outside into the playground. I’m pretty sure the staff thankfully stopped the alarm before things got out of hand.

Actually seeing one activated during a drill was truly AWESOME!!! this makes me think so much of the Code Blue button in the hospital!!!! I've had it pressed on me before! In the event a patient goes into a Cardiopulmonary arrest, The nurse will lower the Head of the bed, after checking for a pulse! She will then press the CODE BLUE button, right before Beginning Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation on the patient! The Code team, the CODE BLUE TEAM, is paged, and they leap into action, bringing a Crash Cart, or commonly referred to as the CODE cart to the patient's room! The CODE cart has a defibrillator, Oxygen, Suction equipment, a BACK BOARD, and several drawers with supplies that will most likely be necessary during a Cardiopulmonary Arrest! This equipment includes, but is not limited to, Drugs such as Epinephrine, Atropine, Vasopressin, Amiodarone, Magnesium Sulfate, and includes Intubation Supplies, I:E, supplies necessary to place an Endotracheal Breathing tube down a patient's throat, INTUBATION, the cart includes a Bag Valve device for manually ventilating a patient, and many other vital pieces of equipment!
If a CODE BLUE alert is called, It's a LIFE OR DEATH, EMERGENCY! Patients usually do not survive Code blue situationa, however on occasion the patient does survive!

In the woodwork room at my school, the Wheelock MT Horn/Strobe alarms have dead strobes. There is one alarm that's strobe only that works.
My old preschool had 2 EST Genisis, and one time some child lifted the cover, pulled it down and it didnt do anything despite the panel being programmed to its devices.
Those are truly loud as heck!

Hey, @S.E.R. Safety. It’s Tyler here. Have you ever thought about just opening and closing the pull station using the keys? I would think that would be easier because you wouldn’t have to reset the station once you pull down the lever. Believe it or not, that is how most workers activate the fire alarms.

Remote strobes are often saved for restrooms as horn strobes are required to alert students and faculty for a fire drill. Speaker strobes are also required, often for cafeterias, some classrooms, and auditoriums to name a few.

Umm I have alot... More than 20... The one you just heard sounds is downstairs where kindergarten to second grade is and then when you go upstairs to 4th grade to 6th grade it sounds like a smoke detector you might have at home

I have a school with the classes not in one building and they are separated buildings where you have to walk outside to switch class and even though it is outdoors, he also itself is loud and you can hear it echo and it hurts your ear.
i am absolutely terrified of fire alarms i am so scared my teacher has to tell me exactly when its happening i get so nervous i start to cry i shake and ahhhhh
Most of my district has those same exact alarms. However, the high school got a major renovation done and an addition built on. With that came new fire alarms. The new ones just talk and say, "A fire has been reported." So, it is kinda peaceful.

She was following me in case of an unlikely event something went wrong.

And today we talked about school fire drills during life skills and then we watch this video that you made because at school they have fire drills as well and someone was playing with the fire alarm pull station and that kid pulled the fire alarm twice until firefighters came

Our school fire alarm is the same as that and the fire alarm went off today at my school as a false alarm, we stayed there for 20 minutes but no fire department came. When it was finished we got a short break because we missed half of our break then we went off again which we had to stay there for more and after that the fire department came. Something is wrong with our school.

I don't know why these teachers expect us to line up quietly and walk calmly out the school if the drill was real like bruh I'm gone as soon as I know it's a real drill.
Because people could get hurt or die if you don’t do it calmly. It’s to prevent trampling and keep everyone safe and accounted for.

When I was 8 there was a fake fire alarm at my school when I was doing my piano lessons and i was like:

But my teacher said someone had to come to the class room
But no one came,

When we were about to go a fire alarm came on and I was panicking! But luckily it was just the party smoke,
