For some reason, starting with driver 551.23, the nvidia GPU activity icon in the taskbar no longer shows the activity of some "old" games, the icon looks gray, as if the GPU was inactive, and that happens with all the drivers that continue to arrive until the last one, which would be 552.44 to date.
I have a suspicion that it may be due to the release of the new Nvidia App, since it needs a 551 series driver as a requirement.
But the thing with the icon do not happen with the previous drivers, so I choose 546.33.

strange, but on 551.23 I do not save presets from Nvidia Freestyle, let's say if you make yourself a preset sharpness and something else, then the next time you go to the game it is not saved and have to do it again. And on previous versions of drivers such a problem is not, so I'll stay for now on 546.33

From all my testing 546.33 is by far the best for both singleplayer and online in terms of latency and fps + 1% lows to have the most accurate testing the gpu has to not underclock due to high temperatures which isn't a problem in my case since my temps are always ranging from 50c and lower, with my PC i have my gpu overclocked along with my lovely overclocked cpu with the core and cache as high as i could go and heavily tuned 4000MHZ CL15 memory which has increased my 1% lows by a lot which was able to let me see what driver is really the best.
I can see from your results it's fluctuating due to your gpu temps and likely due to the undervolting you did in the past which is potentially unstable you have to really stress test it properly using the more known tools to reveal any instability which can cause issues with performance.
Even with all the windows updates if i was to install any of the drivers displayed here, i would have the same performance as when it was released like for an example if i was to use 537.58 which i don't use it anymore but as an example i would have the same FPS as before during the period of when i had it, but 546.33 is by far the best it was a nice uplift in performance but be aware if anyone else is reading this there are issues with the 546x drivers that causes tiny issues that may even just affect each other single users and some users that don't get affected but thankfully i don't have any of those issues that i saw online.
Just to be sure I had the majority of my friends use the same drivers as testing which also revealed the same results with 546.33 being the best out of the bunch.
How on earth are you talking about my temps...? I didn't once mention my temps... I know you like being contrarian but I have my CPU and GPU tuned just right...
@@laptoptweakingtips My comment isn't an attack at you, one techy to another I mentioned your temperatures because im active on your channel, and i noticed that your results fluctuates when compared to previous videos which is why i brought up about your temperatures and the undervolting you did in the past, the turing architecture which is what you and I have which is based from the 20 series GPUs with every 10c increase on the GPU the core clock drops -15mhz and when you're undervolting you have to make sure that you did a stress test and not benchmarks because benchmarks won't pick up instability unless its extremely unstable with noticeable performance degrades but on a real note a stress test is what will reveal any instability and the same applies to the CPU you have to make sure you did a stress test to fully know the undervolt is stable because it is very much possible to have a undervolt that's near the line of instability that won't show but is still there with random performance degrades, again this isn't an attack at you sorry if you feel that way.

It's been 30-40 degrees in my city for a couple of months, the only time my temps are high is when I try rush out a driver comparison
on hot days
Otherwise my temps are the reason my channel has steadily grown

may i ask which gpu do you have? because .33 was very if not the most stuttery driver i ever tried.
Can you include 546.08 next time, i know its not official but it showed better results than the 537.
But it showed worse than 546.17, 546.29, 546.33 and 551.23

@@laptoptweakingtips the only drivers that worked well for me are 551.23, 546.29, 546.08. even though the 551.23 is obviously the best in terms of performance but the 546.08 felt more mushy and soft in frames so i suspect maybe it had better 0.1% lows.

What does 0.10% mean?
It measures microstutters
The higher the 0.10% lows the better
Watch most your optimization video for laptop. But reality hit hard after all the thing i try cpu undervolt gpu overclock underclock, nvidia control setting, ... I can only have 20fps 720p of the game i want to play ( grandblue fantasy relink). If possible can you do some video about cheap compact setup for egpu maybe 100-200$. I try to learn about it but it seem so complicated and so much things to do, do you thing is doable for normal user

notebook bro, you dont have the same gpu as the desktop, they are bigger and have different driver, this is why nvidia created 2 different drivers

Bro in almost all games i play i have flickering shadows ,light and some textures especially in distance like there's no anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering in games
And this happened since i change my windows from 10 to 11 and i installed windows 11 on ssd (my win 10 was on hdd)
My specs:
Gtx 1650

16gb ram
Do you know what's causing this issue?
never had this issue before, I think it's hardware issue on the graphic card possibly not 100% sure
@radysg4346 my gpu is just 1.5 yrs old and beside this issue happend right after changing windows so i don't think its a hardware issue
But what it is, it's driving me crazy
not 100% sure - but in the last 6-8 months the new drivers have a hardware acceleration issue
so make sure hardware accelerated gpu scheduling on in windows settings
but then disable harddware acceleration in your browser, steam and discord and vlc
it causes conflicts
see if that helps

what would be a good driver for a 1660 super?
Alot of people like the 472.12(which I use) and I have the 1650 variant with the upgraded vram and it is a good driver and it is fast an stable.
