Another important setting is to bind the pull of 'Get Over Here' and the zip as different keys! This prevents you from accidentally pulling a target before your right click lands on them. You'll notice at 1:19, Necros has the pull bound to R, but the targeting for the zip shows F. This makes missing the zip after landing a right click virtually impossible.
also allows for a choice between the pull and the agress grabs so even if they're marked you can still make the correct play and not get locked into one option
Also mapping "Get Over Here" and "Get Over Here Targetting" to two separate buttons has been really helpful for me to not accidentally miss a web zip and lets me get combos a little more easily
@@verafeiyd "get over here targetting" keybind is used to pull yourself into the target when u have used your sticky,"get over here" keybind is to pull your enemy to you so if your goal is to pull yourself into your enemy having it onto a different keybind will guarantee the ability pulls off succesfully if you have both on the same keybind there is a chance you miss the ability.Hope that helped sorry if it was hard to understand
4:45 If you want more communication without a mic TURN ON at "Number of Wheel sections" The Eight Sections option for your comms wheel, Literally no down side just more to tell your team, Like when you want to wait and group.
The leading towards mouse settings is actually way superior imo. It gives you an actual reference point to go off of whereas with the basic controls, it’s just “up” on a wall and that goes out the window and anything but a vertical flat surface.
exactly, it becomes confusing when you’re upside down or something other than vertical. Which to be fair, most of the time you are vertical anyway but I just like the feeling of having more control over it with the second setting
it gets extremely difficult when you transfer from vertical to upside down or when you're going through anything that's not just straight flat like bumpy surfaces if ur on default
Actually I played around with it and after studying exactly how it works I can safely tell you that the best way to use this wall-climb will be when they add a hybrid between Following Crosshair and follow vertically. Both have advantages. Following crosshair doesn’t allow you to freely move your cam behind you, but vertical movement is very clunky and unpredictable. What they should actually do, is turn both options into a single superior one that uses both systems at the same time, maybe switching between them like a click, like you do with Reinhardt shield kinda.
Thank you so much this has been driving me absolutely insane, It feels hilariously unintuitive the way it is by default but maybe some people just know how to handle it better. I guess it’s one of those things like camera inversion
I use this setting as well. It allows me to smoothly transition from swinging to running. Great for some maps like Tokyo when you have large smooth curved walls. The wall movement when your going over humps as well is glitchy and weird as well. Getting onto rooftops that have overhangs is 1000 times easier when you use your mouse.
I literally just finally went positive with Spooderman for the first time and MY GOD the endorphin release on combos with this hero is like day 1 Genji dash combos. I never thought I would feel like this ever again given Overwatch heal creep.
Not only does having automatic swing disabled allow you to dash on the ground, but it allows you to zip to a place while you're in the air as well if your crosshair is pointed at a location level with your height or lower.
Btw, if you're playing on controller, specifically PS5 controllers, you can toggle all the settings to closely mimic the PS4/PS5 Spider-Man games. R2 for swinging, square for attacking, triangle for uppercut, circle for Get over here, and the rest can stay the same.
I personally binded get over here for L1 and L2, in theory it should be triangle because it's the web pull bind for MSM but the triggers help not having to move away my thumb from the stick
Forgot to mention "Get Over Here Targeting," which basically gives you two inputs for the same skill; one that's only functional when there's a web tracer on an enemy, and one that always pulls the enemy, regardless of stickiness. It's basically the "Automatic Swing" setting for Get Over Here.
Naah bro. Necro your a beast on spiderman. I'm trying to get into the tournament as well. If I for some ungodly reason end up facing off against you. I'll take that as a win. But please. Teach me moooore!!! I've already learned so much from your videos man!
As a spidy main, once i found out about the wall climb on mouse, my wall game got much better, sometimes weird inversions happen while climbing and u cant see urself the best, but this makes it easy to know which way to move.
3:35 Directional wall climb I use on Venom to reposition after a teamfight and sneak up on the enemy on a chokepoint and dive from above. They never see it coming. It's great on king of the hill after you've secured the point. Spider man is way more movement focused, so I think a good way to use it is to set up better angles for your swings. Maybe, I don't really play spidey.
The direction for wall crawling setting might be bugged at the moment because if you have 'advanced vertically upwards' enabled, you cannot move forward on a ceiling. You can only move left, right, and backwards because your forward key will also move backwards for some reason. Another tip I found, if you change the default ability key for 'get over here, it changes the behaivor for stickied enemies. If the enemy is stickied and you press E, it will zip you to them and do the kick OR if you press the new key, it will pull them to you as if they were not stickied. This might be a bug too but might be worth doing if you want more control.
idk I feel like direction of wall crawling with the mouse is more beneficial to newer or less skilled gamers because they can panic on keyboard and most of the time you move where you are looking but you wouldn't be able to look behind you while you wall climb
I have advance towards crosshair on because when you move from a wall to a ceiling it feels so jarring because the inputs you have to click change, with the advance towards crosshair it's easier to move by just looking in the direction you're going
He’s a very flowery character. Don’t think too much about missing stuff like the webs. Just play your game and adapt to the situation/mistakes you make on the fly. The mechanics come later
@ thank you I’ve already started getting better like you said he’s a very flowery character but I think that’s partially where the fun comes in I’ll keep in mind what you said!
3:37 I was astonished that you DIDN'T recommend switching this to reticle navigation, because I originally opened up the options menu to specifically look for this setting and disabling auto swinging and found everything else. With the default crawling settings I kept running off walls and stuff; it's difficult for me to orient myself when the camera isn't facing my direction of movement. Same thing with north-facing minimaps as compared to minimaps facing the same direction I'm looking in.
I want to thank you guys in the comment section too for the suggestions. Especially for general settings it saves me some time messing around in the training testing stuff out
I'd recommend using advance towards cursor because it gives better control on ceilings especially ones with circular shapes because the "Crawl Map" that's attached to it is super inconsistent with what it counts as "Up" and "Down". not super important when using constant movement but when going for ambush plays or evading to their backline by travelling on the only surface Gamers never look at, pretty useful. Now all I want is for them to allow attaching to the ceiling directly without needing to zip to a wall first, it would make ambush plays a lot faster and make it easier to hide when chased. beyond that its preference.
Yea I just started playing, and barely played a couple as Spidey and had NO IDEA what I was doing, his swinging was a mess. Also needless to say I’m on roller and turn sensitivity is a big issue on roller, so I’m probably going to try committing it to MnK from here on out but maybe I’ll get some controller settings that make sense. I’m still trying out other characters though. Moon Knight, Groot, Cloak & Dagger seem to be my best atm.
For the ‘direction of wall crawl’ I use the crosshairs because on console whenever I try to run on a ceiling it ends up becoming a nightmare to go where I want and gets me killed alot
FINALLLY BRO I'VE BEEN WAITING, DONT BLUE BALL US FOR SPIDER MAN LIKE YOU DID FOR GENJI PLS; nvm im blind i saw that you posted a spiderman guide before posting this mb bro ty
for the issue with spidey crawling on walls, ive had it a few times completely turn the character around and so then I have to invert my input to go where I really want to go, and this got me killed a few times so I can see y that setting exists
What sensitivity do you recommend with him? I've been finding it really hard to actually hit people with the web or be able to keep my sights on them to melee.
I tried Spiderman with Auto Swing off, but it still does the automatic swing, I can't aim and use the swing, maybe bugged? It's frustrating. It works fine for Venom though. Idk how I can fix this silly bug for Spiderman.
Any console (specifically Xbox One non-pro controller) Spideys have button mapping recommendations? (All the below is what I do and where my problem is with it that idk how to make better, but I'm mostly just curious as to the binds you use.) I mained Lucio in OW so I've had jump bound to LT (L2) with characters who like to jump and aim at the same time for a long time. My current settings are jump LT (L2), swing LB (L1), Get Over Here RB (R1), Web Cluster RT (R2), and so Spider Power ends up on A (X), and I thought that was pretty good and it mostly is. But after playing, I tend to default to Web Cluster as my primary attack and use too many of them too quickly and all the added aiming makes my life much harder than if I focused more on using Spider Power and just Web Cluster for stickies/combos/finishers. I've been trying today to focus on using fewer/more thoughtful Web Clusters but it's been hard to get used to. I've consitered trying out one of the abilities on L3 (clicking left stick) so I can make Spider Power RT, but I've never liked clicking that button it's always felt awkward.
Question , what about sensitivity settings on console ? I've been feeling a little clunky swinging around and attacking , I can never get the right sensitivity
question, when ever I play spiderman it feel like it's complete rng wether he swings or just pulls. It's really frustrating and I wanna know if there is a way you can predict wether he will pull or swing?
Necros! When I try to perform the web if, with those configurations, of automatic swing off, my spiderman just performs the same as if it is on, even when I'm looking for the wall or ground. Is that a bug? Or it is just something more specific that I have to do to perform the web zig?
