As a support main, I love how you explain everything to a psychological level, It helps me make "Anti-Dive" strats and gives me a new perspective on how to think :)
Great video, very informative and to the point. Of course don't forget that this is all assuming that you: 1. Have tanks that can frontline (if you're playing with a flanking Venom or Captain America then there may not be a main source of attention to distract the enemy frontline. Might have to dive with your tank rather than off-angling, but doing both will probably ensue) 2. Have teammates in vc to coordinate cooldowns and focus targets. Ofc you can solo carry as a skilled diver following the checklist in the video but it is so much easier when your team is aware of the cooldowns being commited, the enemy you're diving and being able to ask your tank to push into the enemy team (otherwise a passive playstyle tank may leave too much attention open for the enemy team to turn inward onto the diver) 3. Have a team comp existing in your match. I'm sure you've had those matches where your team silently does their own thing regardless of the objective or team synergy (I'm assuming that its more common in lower elo than higher). Nvm, I shouldn't have posed these as integrals to winning but I'm sure that they increase your chances substantially
Yeah saw this coming, yesterday I went 16/0 and 38/2 on panther by just saying "wait I'm going in the front, this literally never works out, just stop"
My panther had been improving. I wanted to spend some time in QP to get his basics flowing more smoothly. I might learn to play a couple tanks soon after I hit lord status in Panther and start ranked
Just gotta say, same as others, your videos are very informative and useful. I feel like im actually learning something different to the norm. This is giving the game sense, to put the pieces together.
I don’t play BP but as a support these videos are helpful. Understanding good positioning and resources trading is very important for team coordination.
Dont comment often but as a flank main in every hero shooter this is the most concise, simple to understand, bread n butter guide to what we do. Love it❤.
Great tips. My biggest mistakes is feeling too aggressive and not always going off angle, and with Panther you 100% need to fall back if you miss a dash.
By the way, most of those concepts apply to any hero, not just dedicated flankers! Its always beneficial to be somewhere where enemy team isnt looking at the moment, allowing you to deal more damage and take less So even if you're playing someone like Mantis, you'll find yourself taking less damage and having more room to breathe if you dont stand in a line behind your tank but rather somewhere to the side
Thank you for the tips! As a spider-man enjoyer i understood on my own that i need to engage from enemy's back and pressure heals or kill off snipers. But it wasn't always working... Sometimes i would destroy teams and get mvps and sometimes i would get cced and killed in seconds by the whole enemy's team. Now i get what's wrong - timing! It's a team game after all...
Thanks man I never played dive in overwatch but picked up spiderman in this game and was a little confused about how to go about it. Figured out the off angle thing early on but timing definitely takes some getting used to.
@@CunnyMuncher so use my own stuff then dive, that seems simple and I do that all the time, but it doesn't seem expert yanno? I was hoping someone could tell me something I don't know
diving as tank is not my area of expertise, but a lot of similar principles apply. your job is to take space, and you want to do it when your team is ready to capitalize on it
Thanks bro I just hit Plat on BP only and felt my engages and overall impact dropped significantly in Gold 1. Definitely need to be better timed with my teams but being a solo and BP means Im getting all the blame if not hard carrying ranked My biggest issue right now is when I come up against an actual duo or team of people, EX: I had a game where a mantis, punisher and Cloak no joke sitting as far back as possible for turrets and to focus me so no matter what I did I couldnt get 1 kill off either of those 3 while my team was losing 3v5 Do you just immediately ignore these engages or force the fights because you can keep multiple enemies focused on hard countering you?
it's tough to say without seeing the game, but you have to adapt to the way the enemy is playing. it's possible that if 3 people are sitting so far in the back, maybe their frontline is overexposed and you can group with your team and focus them down
you should only dash when you can reset off of a target who has the vibranium mark. check out the combo section of the Advanced Black Panther Guide in the description
I have a question. I play mostly Venom, I'm still fairly new to the game (only about 25 competitive matches), but from what I understand even though I am a tank my job is to dive the enemy backline and try to go for their healers/squishy dps players. does the first point in this video also apply to me? should I be going for off angles or should I try to stay with my team and "protect" them? (though I feel Venom doesn't really have tools for that, but still)
I'm not a Venom player by any means, but while off angling is still important, since you have web swing, you can really engage from anywhere. Your job is to time your dives in such a way to enable your DPS to do lots of damage while the enemy team is focusing on you. bonus points for coordinating dives with dive dps. Venom has no tools for protecting his teammates!
in comp, it's pretty rare except in low elo that your team doesnt contest at the same time every single fight. if that's happening, you have to either coach them yourself or just hard carry with mechanics
this guy was complaining in chat that we lost cuz I only had 11 kills and 8000+ dmg as Iron Fist meanwhile he had 18 kills as Squirrel Girl, some ppl are just unbelievably brain dead, good divers spend a lot of time just to get good positioning and waiting for the right moment, I might not rack up the most kills all the time but all my kills were the enemy healers, you would not have gotten any of your kills without me taking out the enemy healers

What about dive tanks? How do you expertly dive with them?
Distract the enemy as a dive tank when your main tank's resources are spent
