    You know Reagan (the daughter) is a kid, right? Neither she nor her brother were developmentally able to reliably predict the consequences of their individual actions, let alone their combined actions. Reagan shouldn't have given her brother the toy, he shouldn't have taken the batteries and turned it on, and the parents shouldn't have left the batteries in reach of the children or let any of the kids walk in the back of the line. One of the greatest horror movies ever made, and it was done by FIRST TIME DIRECTOR JOHN KRASINSKI!
    The most essential part of any horror film is that the audience has to care for the characters, and it’s impossible not to love this family. The absolute standout performance is Millicent Simmonds as Regan. I love that Krasinski actually got a deaf actress to play her, and you can’t help but root for her.
    And it was also one of the best moviegoing experiences in my life. I remember feeling such unbelievable tension throughout the movie that any time someone in the theater made a sound as quiet as eating popcorn or candy everyone (myself included) would almost death stare at them as if the monsters in the movie would hear us.🤣🤣🤣

    The whole family played a part in what happened to the little boy.
    If the older boy hadn’t gotten sick then the family wouldn’t have gone into town.
    The whole family didn’t need to go. One parent could have stayed with the kids at home while the other went to get the medicine. Or one parent & the daughter could have gone while the other parent & the boys stayed home.
    The father could have put the batteries in his pocket or put the batteries & toy up where the child couldn’t reach them.
    The parents could have put all the kids between them on the walk home. One parent in front & the other last in the line.
    The mother could have kept the little boy with her.
    It’s not one persons fault that the boy died. Change just one thing each member of the family did in the chain of events & he would have been ok.

    • @breezy3392
      @breezy3392 Месяц назад +1

      Agree with all of this, except "If the boy hadn't gotten sick". Everything else was a choice that someone made, but it was not a choice to get sick.

    • @learobinson4450
      @learobinson4450 Месяц назад

      Choice or not, the fact remains they went to town to get medicine for him because he was sick. If he hadn’t been sick they would have stayed at home & not been in the store looking for medicine. It was his illness that started the whole chain of events.

    • @breezy3392
      @breezy3392 Месяц назад

      @@learobinson4450 If we're talking about who is responsible, then the people who made actual choices are at fault. The older son is not at fault for anything. Getting sick was not a choice, and the adults who brought him there could have left him or his siblings at home. Everything else was choices made by the other family members and they were things that could have happened on any random supply run, regardless of him being sick.

    • @learobinson4450
      @learobinson4450 Месяц назад

      @breezy3392. The older boy getting sick PLAYED A PART in what happened to the youngest boy. It’s not one person’s FAULT that he died. See the difference? FAULT = blame. I specifically said it is not anyone’s fault because they all had a part in what happened. Change just one person’s part in the chain of events & it doesn’t happen. If the older boy hadn’t gotten sick it wouldn’t have happened because the family wouldn’t have gone to town. If one parent had stayed home with the kids it wouldn’t have happened. If the father hadn’t left the batteries on the counter it wouldn’t have happened. If the daughter hadn’t handed the little boy the toy it wouldn’t have happened. If the little boy hadn’t picked up the batteries it wouldn’t have happened. If the mother had kept the little boy with her on the walk back it wouldn’t have happened. If both parents had kept all the children between them on the walk back it wouldn’t have happened. Choice or not every single member of the family played a part in the death of the youngest boy therefore no one is truly at fault. So I wasn’t talking about who was responsible. If anything I was pointing out that you can’t really put the responsibility on one person because in reality they all played a part in the tragic outcome.
      I’m just tired of everyone blaming the daughter. By holding her responsible they overlook the parts the other family members played in the chain of events that lead to the loss of little Beau.

Every single spoiler was given away by the idiot behind me "look he'll pick up the batteries. see how she will step on the nail." constant narration.
