Unsolicited reaction suggestion: If you haven't already seen it, give the "VHS" film franchise a watch. I watched the first one by chance, I ended up liking it more than I thought i would. The movies get more intense, bloody/gory as the series progresses. I won't spoil them, but I can say that what I've seen of the 4 VHS films I've watched thus far, they are NOT Blake friendly. If you guys ever do end up watching them, count how many times Blake's says: "I HATE THIS!!"😂
Subtitles are on the screen as part of this original film. I have no idea where you guys found a version that doesn’t have them, but it did change a couple things, just with the characterization of the kids. The next film you need to be sure you have the original version with the subtitles, the story is not easy to follow without them unless you are aware of ASL or BSL.
I saw this movie in theaters when it came out, and I’ve never experienced a quieter theater, people weren’t even eating popcorn because it was too loud
I women arrived to the theater 10 minutes late to the movie, had like half a dozen kids with her, and a dozen bags of chips that must have sealed by the gods because it took her an age to open them. In the otherwise quiet theater she sounded like a marching band.
what made yall decide not to watch it w subtitles lol? Yall missed out on soooo much context and emotional/powerful dialogue. I mean unless you can pick up on ASL but apart from that I thought generally ppl watched this movie w subs on so I was shocked to hear yall had no subtitles somehow

I love when men ask questions like do women bleed when they give birth 😂 when we literally do it every month. But the baby just slips out like water? Hug your mother if you can, fellas. Then you have to feed someone right after? Sheesh!
@@garnet0101 I worked in the medical field for 13 years and have been present as a birth partner during deliveries for 2 friends. Bleeding during birth is PERFECTLY normal. Bleeding EXCESSIVELY is not normal, of course, but the amount shown in this movie isn't a lot. Aside from bleeding from the perineal tears involved from pushing something the size of a small watermelon through a hole that's usually the size of a lemon, you also lose blood just from the placenta becoming detached from the uterus. In general, it's not wise to speak as an authority on subjects you don't actually know much about. I suggest you consider this.

Oh goody goody good, a great franchise very interestingly put together and produced with incredible actors in all 3 films, you guys are taking on a lot at the moment but hope to see 2 and 3 at some point. PS. I hope Cojo gets back from the further safely well done to Blake for not covering his eyes and congratulations on almost 35k 🎉
Ok.... DEAF PERSPECTIVE... 1. She doesn't wear hearing aids (HA), she uses cochlear implants (CI). Big difference, but I totally understand why they're interchangeable to most folks. 2. Hearing aids have an earpiece that goes in the ear canal, and a hook-piece that goes over the ear, like glasses, and hangs behind the ear. The part behind the ear is a powerful, very finely-tuned processor that is calibrated to each person individually. People who lose their higher registers (soprano) might have those sounds amplified, whereas people who have lost deeper sounds might have theirs calibrated to balance out sound. Some of us use them because we've lost some or most hearing, but they don't help as much if the hearing loss is severe. Batteries are expensive, and rechargeable versions are in the $600 range. I have moderately-severe loss in one ear, and ZERO hearing in the other. I wear a hearing aid on the ear with zero hearing, which translates the sound and bluetooth's it to the hearing aid on my other ear, so I almost have surround sound now. 3. The girl in the film has a CI: which is a device somewhat like an HA, but it is surgically implanted into the brain/ear-space where sound ripples across these microscopic "hairs" that sound runs though the cochlea (looks like a tiny TINY spiral/snail shell, and our brains use those fine hairs to "interpret" sound in our environment into recognizable patterns, like voices, music, glass breaking, etc. Because it's not a direct interpretation, the sound is quite mechanical and "tin-can-like" and people who once had even SOME hearing have to re-learn how to interpret sounds, which takes a lot of work, and a LOT of patience. The hook part (like an HA) is only different in that it hangs on the ear, but it's only there to hold the CI in place. If you see, hers has two parts connected by string, one is the computer/sound amplifyer, the other is connected to the part that hangs over the ear to prevent falls. The circle disk part is the computer which amplifies sound, and stays attached to the skull via magnets. The disk portion sends the sounds into the piece that is surgically implanted deep in the inner ear, and the brain translates that sound into something recognizable. It is NOT an exact science, it doesnt always work, and is NOT REVERSIBLE... so once that surgery is done, what little hearing they have left is severed. 3b. Hearing aids are about ... $2,000-8,000 - not including batteries (about $50-150 per year) and the cost sometimes includes regular maintenance. CI's however, are between $10,000 to $80,000 and need to be adjusted occasionally, the batteries are generally rechargeable and included, but I'm not familiar enough to know about maintenance frequency or how lomg they last. 4. People with severe hearing loss usually wear hearing aids AT LEAST to hear sirens/wee-woos, so at the absolute most, they help "suppliment" sounds for safety, while others use them to clear up voices and smooth out communication issues. Both HA/CI are essentially made worse in crowded places with lots of background noise. The more noise around, the more the HA/CI picks THOSE noises to amplify over a voice or other sounds, becoming more detrimental than helpful. 5. The "enhancements" that HA/CI give us are not a "fix" ... and one of the more annoying features is the ever-crushing squeal (like two microphones too close to one another) if we fall asleep or hug someone, and our (what I call) "proximity alerts" go off squealing like mad. I can't hear myself talk without my HA, but one bear hug is all it takes to know how that squeal feels when it's directed INTO THE EAR. Annoying, yet effective. In school, I didnt fall asleep in ANY class, for fear of setting off a proximity alert. It's essentially the squeal of two mocrophones too close together and the sound is sent DIRECTLY into the brain-pan, and, as these creatures can ageee, it's painful! 6. Lastly: DON'T WATCH THE NEXT MOVIE WITHOUT CAPTIONS! In fact, if you DO re-watch the first one before moving on, DO SO WITH CAPTIONS so you're more immersed in the conversation. 7. When I watched this with my family, A. I had to remind them about captions so we could all have equal access to the movie... and B. They kept looking over to me every time asking "is that what they really said!?" every time someone's hands started moving. The signing was actually VERY accurate, and if I remember correctly, the cast all kinda lived together or spent a LOT of time together to learn ASL before production even started. 8. Last one: captions aren't just for us Deafies... they're actually a universal way to include EVERYONE. It's especially helpful in movies like this, AND FOR REACTION CHANNELS IN GENERAL because (IMHO) the biggest circle of hell is reserved for those who talk over the whole movie and ask questions that are ANSWERED IN THE MOVIE because they didn't turn the CC on.
React to the rest of the franchise with A QUIET PLACE PART II (2021) and A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE (2024), which are also very good or even better I would say, you'll enjoy it.
Their conversation about their dead child always makes me cry, Emily's acting is incredible and her words to her husband are what cause him to sacrifice himself in the end. "Who are we if we can't protect them?" 😢
Resonance - I'm in no way claiming to know the root cause, so when I say resonance, I mean, the amplitude effect seems to be at play with the hearing aid device. Corey mentioned a feedback loop, like with a PA system. Resonance ties into kinetic and potential energy but with amplitude in this case. One system pushes the other, causing another object to vibrate at a higher amplitude. That's what we saw when the creature goes haywire.
A very solid story and movie. One of the few films where no spoken dialog and or silence becomes a character all unto itself. The scene with the nail sticking out of the steps!😖😣😩😫😭

47:47 The headphones have to be tuned, but you wouldn't know if she was hitting the frequency until it started hurting her. It's kind of like dimming the lights with a dimmer switch with your eyes closed. If you didn't have it in your ears, they're very sensitive the tuning I mean
I would say that what made this movie special as well is the isolation. it actually gives more depth of how dangerous these monsters are rather that we seeing more than a dozen characters in the film. it builds up the fear. the number of people won’t really save them from making noises tbh.
I stepped on a nail when I was middle school age. I didn't scream though. It hurt really bad. My friends helped me back to their house, we put peroxide on it and continued playing outside lol.
Lol the kid dying was the parents fault! It could so easily have been avoided had they explained about the sounds to him not to mention they could have given him the plane but without the batteries & made sure he didnt leave last.... See, death avoided! 🤣
@@kyloren1014 what? the sister didnt put in the batteries, she just gave him the plane. He took the batteries of the shelf. If the parents given him the plane, without the batteries, put them higher & made sure he wasnt last one out, it wouldnt have happened
There is absolutely NO way that kid has survived this long in this scenario without having had the danger explained to him multiple times. He just isn't old enough to fully understand it. So what you're saying honestly doesn't make sense, and sounds like it's based on a limited experience in dealing with young children. The criticism of having the youngest child walking at the back of the line where they could not see him, that is valid. I've made that point, too. But to truly believe they've survived months of this and never ONCE turned to the kid and said, "Hey, stop being loud, it's dangerous," I mean. . . come on. That just doesn't make sense.
how I see this movie has absolutely nothing to do with my experience with kids. I'm judging the writing, simple as. Never said they haven't, but in that moment they didn't & if they had, the outcome might have been different
@@CamillaDrakenborg You said "If they had explained it" which implies that you believe that they hadn't. So you pretty much DID say they hadn't. Perhaps that's not what you MEANT to say. But that is what you said.
Other than the Flanagan series, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of your guys videos and clicked on it faster! This is probably one of my favorite movies I’ve ever seen in theaters and I’ve seen a lot of movies! Really hoping you guys watch the second one also because it’s pretty good too. I still like the first one of the best though personally but that may be partly because of the experience!
Just FYI. . . telling someone about a twist ruins the surprise of there being a twist. Expecting something ruins the surprise. It's borderline spoilery.
Well there's the issue about how nobody thought that things with super hearing won't be weak against sound, but if we think people on movies won't have our exposure to that kind of themed movies/stories, and that maybe everything happened so fast that government people couldn't even assembly
I think you need to remember how fast the aliens move. Also, there were 3 confirmed in the area not in total. Any conventional military action would have been too loud.
Blake, Corey, Igli, and Matthew .... A QUIET PLACE CAST & CHARACTERS: John Krasinski as Lee Abbott Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott Millicent Simmonds as Regan Abbott Noah Jupe as Marcus Abbott Cade Woodward as Beau Abbott Baby Abbott
Why are they barefoot, QT? 😂. Apparently Reservoir Dogs is the only QT that doesn't feature feet. I think it's pretty funny that he does this. All of QTs films are written and directed by him. If he wants feet, they're going in.
Great movie and the sequel is imo just as good 😊 After the creature takes the little boy it made me think any of them could die. It made it even more stressful to me. You should definitely do the sequel 😊
One thing that bugs me about this movie, like Igly said, they made the concious dicision to get a baby (that has to grow up in a box!), cause no way she can tell exact due date but couldnt find some freaking condoms or pills?! Also the nail part, lol like giving birth to a baby in these conditions isnt enough, just gotta throw in that nail. I found that part unessecary. I did enjoy the movie but those little things kinda bugs the crap out of me 😆
what about it was unnecessary? its a plot point to get the monsters to come at the climax of the movie, also they missed their now dead child its understandable an in- love couple could get pregnant again in these circumstances and shes a mother already ofc its easier for her to calculate the due date than to find birth control ? what kind of foolish nitpicks are these lol

But that is what you said.
just when i needed something to watch ❤
Ayyyy never been this early on a vid
Other than the Flanagan series, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of your guys videos and clicked on it faster! This is probably one of my favorite movies I’ve ever seen in theaters and I’ve seen a lot of movies! Really hoping you guys watch the second one also because it’s pretty good too. I still like the first one of the best though personally but that may be partly because of the experience!
Corey needs to watch Edge of Tomorrow. Emily Blunt is awesome in that. ❤
You guys need to watch "Forgotten" (Korean Movie 2017). It's crazy and there's plot twist in plot twist. It's really mind-blowing
Just FYI. . . telling someone about a twist ruins the surprise of there being a twist. Expecting something ruins the surprise. It's borderline spoilery.
Great trilogy of sci-fi survival, hope they continue it.
Great reaction and movie 😁 I love watching Raggedy Pack 😉 Hope you guys are having a great day ❤️
Great choice my guys this one is down right terrifying
Well there's the issue about how nobody thought that things with super hearing won't be weak against sound, but if we think people on movies won't have our exposure to that kind of themed movies/stories, and that maybe everything happened so fast that government people couldn't even assembly
Matthew here after a long time😊
38:51 😂😂😂 Corey’s got jokes
igli saying “missing falls” is even funnier because i said it in my head right before he did ☠️☠️
Great pick for a reaction! Loved it as usual! ❤
Note that the majority of the problems are all the sister's fault. She wasn't around until after the fireworks went off
I think you need to remember how fast the aliens move. Also, there were 3 confirmed in the area not in total. Any conventional military action would have been too loud.
Blake, Corey, Igli, and Matthew ....
A QUIET PLACE CAST & CHARACTERS:
John Krasinski
as Lee Abbott
Emily Blunt
as Evelyn Abbott
Millicent Simmonds
as Regan Abbott
Noah Jupe
as Marcus Abbott
Cade Woodward
as Beau Abbott
Baby Abbott
Another well made video ❤
Absolutely love the reaction. ❤ Do react to "Orphan" as well.
You guys HAVE to watch the office 😮❤
I would never give my child a toy that make sounds. 🤔
They didn't give it to him
He pulled it off the shelf. In fact, the dad took it away.
What I learned is that Corey will be watching The Devil Weara Prada.
The Office is hilarious. Another show thats similiar to The Office is a show called "Superstore." Super funny.
I’ve never watched The Office and I most likely never will, but this movie was decent given that this concept has been explored before.
Super fun guys
I love this one and the sequel but I haven’t seen the new one yet.
Corey needs to watch Edge of Tomorrow. One of my top scifi films.
why is Blake serving face in the thumbnail
He does that constantly.
This is definitely a quiet one 😮
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
Great reaction guys. The original film is the best one for sure, but Part II and Day One are also solid.
Out of curiosity, how old are you guys and besides the channel what do yall do for work?
I’d say mid twenties and they seem like computer guys
Mostly late twenties I am mid 20’s. We don’t share jobs just cause we try to keep our professional stuff separate :) - Blake
@@RaggedyPack makes perfect sense! Thanks for answering! :)
Why are they barefoot, QT? 😂. Apparently Reservoir Dogs is the only QT that doesn't feature feet. I think it's pretty funny that he does this. All of QTs films are written and directed by him. If he wants feet, they're going in.
ANOTHER W REACTION ❤
Great movie and the sequel is imo just as good 😊
After the creature takes the little boy it made me think any of them could die. It made it even more stressful to me. You should definitely do the sequel 😊
LETSSS GOOOOOO!!!!!
I did enjoy the movie but those little things kinda bugs the crap out of me 😆
Condoms and pills fail. It’s how my daughter got here. Hell, babies have been born with IUDs on their heads.
I guess her stepping on the nail was to draw the creatures in because it makes her drop the frame and make noise for them to investigate.
what about it was unnecessary? its a plot point to get the monsters to come at the climax of the movie, also they missed their now dead child its understandable an in- love couple could get pregnant again in these circumstances and shes a mother already ofc its easier for her to calculate the due date than to find birth control ? what kind of foolish nitpicks are these lol
Blake worrying about the stuff that actually matters, like how stale those chips are. But then again you cant crunch too loud.
mystic falls is a real place btws (so is vervain, its a real thing, its in ssleep tea) corvinton Virginia man i wanna go
I was expecting Insidious 3 today. When are you going to continue the franchise?
ohoohohoh a good one
I recommend you to see this horror/crime movie
"summer of 84" ❤
