cats absolutely love like dogs, even more. it's more special because its earned. cats don't give their love away to just anyone. its a special thing to be chosen by a cat. means you are a special person. not surprised this meathead crew doesn't understand that.
I felt it was solid and very sad, of course. That must have been a very trained service cat, as they can be very vocal (I have three, haha). Also, cats form close bonds with their owners so he must really have loved Eric. It would be horrible to go out that way, but I imagine in her mind slowly dying in worse and worse pain from cancer would be more agonizing.
The cat wasn't CGI. Two real cats, named Nico and Schnitzel, played the character “Frodo.” The director, Michael Sarnoski, chose to use real cats instead of CGI, making sure that their natural behavior was captured on screen.
Yes they used real cats but there are scenes where the cat is obviously CGI. The part where hes chasing the mouse right before the guy pops out of the subway is the most obvious scene. Even Stevie Wonder can see the cat was CGI there.
This is a therapy cat and like any therapy pet, they’re VERY well trained, trained to be quiet and read and comfort their human. It’s not a shock that the cat was calm. I mean against destroyer aliens, is another thing……but a therapy animal being calm and quiet most cases makes sense
Also goes against all natural animal instincts though too, especially in survival situations, which if anything, would only be amplified against other worldy creatures. Not just chill around being all calm right next to them. I don't care how well trained a therapy animal is, its not going to be all fine in the face of danger like its just sitting in the sun with no worries lol
My Headcanon is Frodo was always a smart cat, which really helped in their occupation as a therapy animal. Has an intuition in reading behavior and that could easily explain why he adapts to the invasion so well Eric could learn a thing or two from his example.
For me the beauty of this movie was the double connotation of the concept of living. Eric helped Sam to "live" again as she was resigned to death and although her heart was still beating, she was dead inside. And Sam helped Eric to literally stay alive, he wouldn't have lived without her, and her lack of fear of death helped Eric to survive in order to live, and keep Sam and her father's memory alive. A beautiful human story that just happens to be set in an apocalypse movie
There's a deleted scene where Eric explains he was going to commit suicide before the events of the movie happens. It's strongly hinted that Eric is gay, and that his father and community did not accept him so he moved to NY. But he still struggled with feeling alone and unwelcomed and eventually, he decided that due to having no place to call home, he would rather not be alive. Knowing that, it made the character dynamic and parallels even more meaningful imo. The character arc for Eric would've felt more complete as well.
This movie is an interesting case where I actually enjoyed the "character story" beats WAY more than most of the "monster movie" beats. Both of them did such a beautiful job with their performances and the dynamic between them, and the soundtrack really made those introspective moments even more powerful. And I quite enjoyed the idea of a "disaster movie protagonist" who ISN'T focused on surviving the disaster, but rather on going out on her own terms. It changes the rhythm and overall vibe of the story in a unique way. I almost wish this movie hadn't been part of the Quiet Place series, and was just its own separate end-of-the-world story.
I agree. I think it's a refreshing take on the genre. Instead of surviving for long, a character who wants to find peace in their last days of life gets to be the focus of a survival horror
Agreed. It was a very interesting take on a protagonist who got her moment of happiness that didn’t include survival. I also like the addition of the cat as a wild card you can’t control. I read that they are natural predators with a heightened sense of awareness that makes them stay quiet. Cool lol
Completely agree with your comment. Personally I actually enjoyed this one more than the other Quiet place movies. It felt way more real and relatable to me as a normal person.
@@HadesPerennial I actually watched this first and then watched the other two. This is my favorite and I love that the cat is the one that got the happy ending 🐱
I totally agree. I feel like the first two were monster movies with beautiful and emotional moments. This was a beautiful, emotional movie that happened to have monsters.
Eric is so real to me. I wanted to protect him and hug him throughout the movie. I found his emotions, his anxiety and panic attacks very convincing in this film. He looked so lost and scared. The actor did an incredible job with this character. I think without a doubt that he is one of my favorite male characters in recent years in cinema.
The Death Angels arrived on Earth from a meteor. They originate from a planet with no natural light and extreme gravity explaining why they have such acute senses. When Eric (Joseph Quinn) goes after Frodo at 28:46 We see our first and only sighting of a suspected Death Angel Queen as it was 3 times bigger then all the others in this cinematic universe. Also in a deleted scene when Eric comes up from the train station that's under water he was trying to off himself. It's been hinted at that they won't attack ambient or consistent rhythmic noises, it's more just loud and sudden noises but that's just speculation. Aswell as Frodo was played by 2 real life cats lol. I love this universe forgive me xD
oh i didn't know about that deleted scene. I thought he tried to hid underwater from the rest of the angels and simply started having panic attacks because of it. Excluding that scene doesn't make the previous conception any less believable but it does give a bit more context as to why he feels extremely anxious around water. Although now i wished they had added it cause then the irony of someone who wanted to die but too scared to do so ends up helping someone who's slowly dying finally feel alive again is (pun intended) very poetic.
The nursing/hospice home alarm is there for patients with Alzheimers or Dementia, when they open a door the alarm goes off as they have a monitoring bracelet on them if they try to leave to let staff know immediately.
Lupita and Joseph did an amazing job carrying this movie! I saw it in the theater a few weeks ago, it was a good time. The part of Frodo was actually played by 2 cats, Schnitzel and Nico. One of them had fewer black spots than the other and had to have their fur dyed in spots to match the look of the other cat. Monster movies are fun, but I always love a good human story that just happens to have monsters.
I loved this movie, it's sad to see not everyone loved it, but that's fine. The fact that this movie deals with fear of death made me appreciate this movie as this is something I've dealt with from time to time. I loved how someone waiting to die and someone afraid of death come to terms with an impossible scenario even if the lore is superficial or the horror is not really there.
The moment the cat came on screen, I was also worried for it. Movies have treated animals poorly enough over the years that our immediate reaction to this stuff is often: "Man, are they gonna kill the dog?" to the point where someone had to make an entire website dedicated to Does The Dog Die. This movie was a pleasant surprise.
@@alexandervelez9507I kept referring to thethe cat as ‘Jonesy’ rather than ‘Frodo’ because it reminded me of Alien. I knew he’d be ok, because the cat will sacrifice the human to save its own life.
But also like, stan does the dog die, amazing website, I use it for so many different triggers and it has SO many movies even the more indie stuff sometimes which is great, and the fact commenters can give some context to more nuanced triggers >>>>>>
As soon as I see a dog in a movie, I immediately go to that website, even in the theater. This damn cat took hold of my soul. He was fine but I balled almost every time I saw him. Then the sweater at the end.
" cats don't love like dogs" true, dogs love no matter what, cats have boundaries like humans do, and when they love you, they do so with all of their heart, dogs get happy with anyone, cats only love you. Cats are such beautiful and amazing creatures.
Personally, this one was my favorite simply because of the story. I’m always a sucker for a movie about humans coming together. I think it’s beautiful. Plus, as you guys said, the acting was incredible.
I had a cat that was acting almost like a dog. It was sitting and waiting for me on the porch to get home from work. It would walk with me to the store and back home without a leash. It was a great cat.
We had a cat like that growing up. He knew where my mother used to hang out at up the street from our house. He would go up the street & tap on that neighbor's door & meow for my mom to come out
True lol people tend to forget that dogs are bred to be the way they are and cats chose to be domesticated! 😂 They vary in temperament and warm up time like people do and respect must be earned with most of them.
I guess the question for me is, is the brief but brutal pain of the aliens anything compared to the prolonged, constant pain she's been in and will continue to be in until she dies?
same with the monotone of a dead end 9-5 job tbh. this apocalyptic event was probably the most excitement half of the corporate drones experienced that day
I've got a few chronic illnesses that cause quite a bit of pain (no comparison to cancer of course). I can understand the mindset of Sam. The attack only lasts a few minutes tops. Plus it doesn't involve other things that come with terminal cancer. My Oma spent almost 5yrs in hospice with cancer, towards the end she was in this terrible kind of limbo. You're body is still trying to function, you're not quiet in the process yet. you need someone to help you in that "transition" stage. Sam wouldn't have had that help
Seeing my fellas love animals and feel for ppl is truly so amazing!! They actually used two cats to play the part of the one. Great reaction guys I Loved it!
This movie took me for a ride when I first saw it y'all. I was actually surprised at how much I cried. The cancer situation hit close to home for me, especially with the "low-key" way that it went parallel to the story, plus the depiction of their pushing through shock and fear towards a death in Sammy's own terms. Phew 😅 this got me with a lot.
Quiet Place 1 and 2 were both quite intimate character stories - about a dad's love for their children, about kids growing up and stepping into their own etc. I think it's now a staple of the series. There's plenty of catastrophy blow out movies out there, I'm happy the Quiet Place stayed with the "human" story. The aliens are a mcguffin to tell the story, I don't need more info on what they do, why they came or what their home planet is like ;)
I agree completely and also hope they make more and stick to the character focus. This was one of the best movies I've ever seen, and I love that the cat is the one that got the happy ending 🐱
I also liked that this movie still teased a bit more on a "Queen/Alpha" type of the species (wished we could get more of it tho) but didn't push it to hard to prioritize what this film is really about
Actually this is soo right, i was definitely curious abt the aliens and wantes more but Quiet Place was never abt just the aliens and it has aleays been centered around people❤ no wonder i loved this so much
I love the storytelling in this one. The punctuation of the sharp noises and the way the quiet moments are allowed to just be made them so impactful. Definitely more than just a monster movie. ❤
“I’m worried about the cat..” 😏 Pretty much everyone’s experience of the entire movie. I swear by the end I didn’t care if everyone else died; so long as Frodo made it.
As a lifelong New Yorker, I can confidently say that they certainly could’ve gotten Pizza. There’s a pizza shop on almost every block. Some are absolutely banging but others are decent. Good thing is that none of them are bad so no matter where you go theres a solid chance you’ll enjoy it.
My cats came when I called them (most the time). They could do tricks. When I had surgery, they tried to lick the incision and rubbed and purred against it. Once we had a guest get really drunk, and grabbed my shirt screaming at me, and one of the cats attacked him.
Damn, Mason Quinn hating on the cat so hard. Yunno they can be trained just as well as dogs if not better. And animal actors are a real thing. So are emotional support ones, they are specially trained to follow someone or care for them as well as a cat can.
i went to see this movie several weeks after it came out, on a sunday morning and I was absolutely alone in the room. Even though nobody else was here, I was totally quiet, event during the jumpscares I was covering my mouth. That the sign of a very good movie, when you are totally immersed in the action, when you live the story
Liked all your "YEET!" in the intro haha 🙌 & Frodo is a great name for a cat! 🐱 those camera shots of monsters right up close to their faces I was holding my breath with intensity there! 😮 & was nice to see the bond that Samira & Eric built up together, was such an emotional ending for both of them, I was really hoping they'd both make it to safety, I liked this film! I hope they keep making more of these movies as the concept is so unique interesting. (Also only thin crust pizza is best!)
I don’t know what y’all are talking about, I call my cat (if he’s out of view) or wave him over and he comes running… but he meows the whole way so we’d definitely die 😅😂
This was my fave one in the movie series. I loved the spin on the disaster-horror movie protagonist because here we already know she’s going to die, so the focus isn’t on her surviving as the “last girl” as most films do. The focus is on her going out on her own terms chasing something she loves. Day One did great showing “humanity” when a lot of times in this genre, we see groups of people turn into lawless savages or selfish individuals.
I’m not sure why this was cut from the final film. But to give some added context to Eric’s character: he’s a gay man and his father wasn’t very accepting of him. He moved to America to find somewhere where he felt he could belong. But he ended up really lonely and was feeling suicidal.
Well, the people on the boat will die anyway, right? I mean, they were going to that island in Part 2. You all know what happened.. This mean the cat and Eric are probably dead too at the end of Part 2. But if there's any plan to keep this franchise alive, I would like to see Eric again (and the cat too!). They still could survive by the end of Part 2.
Saw someone else in the comments mention A Monster Calls, and i also wanna see yall watch it. It’s a great movie, and the short book it was based on is even better.

Sorry disagree with your rating I loved this one a lot more than part 2 and just as much as part 1. It’s 9/10 for me I loved the Lupita’s character and loved the ending.
This is something im torn on. Im curious about the creatures, their habits, why they landed, etc. We got a peek at what they eat. I like the mystery about them at the same time. Idk if I'd want a sequel that just dump all the info, maybe what available is the fun part
According to Wikipedia, Patsy’s Pizzeria is real, though it’s now owned by longtime employees of the late owner, and the late owner’s nephew started his own place that’s now called Grimaldi’s Pizzeria.
I really loved your reactions guys! You guys are amazing! Am just hoping that one of these days you will be going to react also to music especially the music of the Beatles! We would love to see your reactions to music also😊
I cried at least three times due to stressing about the cat and then once at the end. Unusual for me but I enjoyed this movie much more than I thought I would. I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised! I liked that it was focused on the characters as opposed to just an alien invasion.
Hey guys got a quick question. Not too sure if you guys were WWE buffs but are yall thinking about reacting to the Mr. McMahon documentary series on Netflix?
I liked this, the first one was better as Oak said being unique and all. I wish it didn't focus on a dying person and they should have made Djimon the main character so we could get a hero story there. In your outro it hit me that the military obviously lost the battle seeing how badly off they are in the 1st one, so I don't think they'd focus the movie in how that happened. Looking forward to a 4th one, it is a solid franchises.
I felt bad for the nurse yelling on the roof who died but I felt more sad for the second nurse who died to stop the sound. 😭 But seriously that nurse who was yelling on the roof at her was a little bit of a jerk. Yet on the other hand understandable but not cool. She is the patient in any situation where he falls short on his job in the crisis. 😅
Imagine having a toddler and this is happening 😥 These types of movies are far more scary because honestly This could happen 🤦🏾♀️ we don’t know what is out there in the universe
you guys should watch the new show monsters: the erik and lyle menendez case. its the second season to the jeffrey dahmer show if you haven't watched that one yet
I gave this one a 3. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but it wasn’t great. I wanted a lot more of an origin story than a character piece. But Lupita and Joseph both did amazing work, and their chemistry was exceptional. Love getting to watch it again with you 4, though!

wtf. I didn’t even know this was out yet. Gonna go watch it right now and come back for the reaction! Thanks guys
i loved this one so much more than the other ones. really the best one
I agree
As a lifelong New Yorker, I can confidently say that they certainly could’ve gotten Pizza. There’s a pizza shop on almost every block. Some are absolutely banging but others are decent. Good thing is that none of them are bad so no matter where you go theres a solid chance you’ll enjoy it.
My cats came when I called them (most the time). They could do tricks. When I had surgery, they tried to lick the incision and rubbed and purred against it. Once we had a guest get really drunk, and grabbed my shirt screaming at me, and one of the cats attacked him.
Awwwww🥹
Damn, Mason Quinn hating on the cat so hard. Yunno they can be trained just as well as dogs if not better. And animal actors are a real thing. So are emotional support ones, they are specially trained to follow someone or care for them as well as a cat can.
i went to see this movie several weeks after it came out, on a sunday morning and I was absolutely alone in the room. Even though nobody else was here, I was totally quiet, event during the jumpscares I was covering my mouth.
That the sign of a very good movie, when you are totally immersed in the action, when you live the story
Loved the movie and sobbed like a baby at the end
The cat theories are very very valid questions😂
Where the first two were monster movies with beautiful, emotional moments. To me, this was a beautiful, emotional movie that had monsters in it.
I'm so excited ❤❤❤Lupita was fantastic and Frodo was great ❤❤❤
... the FrodoS were great ... 🙂
I love that the cat is the one that got the happy ending 🐱And those cats and their trainer deserve awards!
The best place to be in this situation would probably be England or Scotland or somewhere with a lot rainfall and storms
The Amazon maybe there are even some waterfalls there.
@@sawanna508 but it's a dense forest and wouldn't be easy to get around silently.
I love the subtitles "soft meow" 😂😂😂😂
I don’t know what y’all are talking about, I call my cat (if he’s out of view) or wave him over and he comes running… but he meows the whole way so we’d definitely die 😅😂
the end part was literally the best, pulling the cord and on the beat one of them drops..
Cats get so much unnecessary hate, they can be extremely loving and playful (like my cat)
I liked this one a lot very well done
Patsy’s is a real pizza joint in NYC. They have several locations in Manhattan. Or at least they did, pre-Covid.
I feel like everybody's first thought was for the cat.
Watched this for the cat and I'm satisfied with the ending😊
Yes, Patsy's is a real pizza restaurant. It's got two different locations here in NYC. One on the upper west side, and the other on 2ND avenue.
I love that the cat is the one that got the happy ending 🐱
Well, the people on the boat will die anyway, right? I mean, they were going to that island in Part 2. You all know what happened.. This mean the cat and Eric are probably dead too at the end of Part 2. But if there's any plan to keep this franchise alive, I would like to see Eric again (and the cat too!). They still could survive by the end of Part 2.
Frodo is the Legend
As a huge Kat person was so worried for Frodo the whole time
Thank you for the super🙏🙏 frodo is a tough cat.
Loved the reaction! I don’t know if you guys want to start a new series but I think From is a really good show to check out.
I'm so pleased to see your reaction to this movie today! Really enjoyed it when I saw it in theatres :)
I love the answers concerns for Mr Frodo :D
Saw someone else in the comments mention A Monster Calls, and i also wanna see yall watch it.
It’s a great movie, and the short book it was based on is even better.
Yay Diamond Dave is here! Save the kitty cat at all costs!
The scene in the pub was brilliant. Good soundtrack.
cats absolutely love like dogs, even more. it's more special because its earned. cats don't give their love away to just anyone. its a special thing to be chosen by a cat. means you are a special person. not surprised this meathead crew doesn't understand that.
When I went to the theater to see it, EVERYONE was silent. And any jump scares, people put their hands over their mouths lol.
I'm sure it was an accident but your description lists the supporting fellas and left Lupita out completely
Sorry disagree with your rating I loved this one a lot more than part 2 and just as much as part 1. It’s 9/10 for me I loved the Lupita’s character and loved the ending.
The Answer mentioning "Lotzza Motzza" during their pizza discussion, while I'm eating my dinner of Lotzza Motzza pizza.
Great pizza!!!
I love this one and cried hard are certain parts!
This is something im torn on. Im curious about the creatures, their habits, why they landed, etc. We got a peek at what they eat. I like the mystery about them at the same time. Idk if I'd want a sequel that just dump all the info, maybe what available is the fun part
3:02 The actor playing the Nurse was the son in Hereditary.
Michael Sarnoski (Director/ Writer/ Editor) - 1)A Quiet Place: Day One 4/10 [Alex Wolff (Hereditary 2018😱)] 😴🥱 . . . 2) Pig (2021) 11/10 😱😱😮😮! ! ! [Nicolas Cage, Alex Wolff, Adam Arkin]
According to Wikipedia, Patsy’s Pizzeria is real, though it’s now owned by longtime employees of the late owner, and the late owner’s nephew started his own place that’s now called Grimaldi’s Pizzeria.
I loved this movie
Interesting scores. This is my favorite from the three films.
Please guys deadpool and wolverine is out to buy rn and it should be online somewhere
They've reacted to it on their patreon already.
@@blueberry32898 thanks
the entire time we watched we we're on edge. Both of us loves cat and we we're so worried for the cat the entire time 😅
Yes it is a real pizza shop I believe in LES (Lower East Side) and it has a huge fan base even before the movie now even more since the movie
I really loved your reactions guys! You guys are amazing! Am just hoping that one of these days you will be going to react also to music especially the music of the Beatles! We would love to see your reactions to music also😊
You should watch a monster calls. It's another masterpiece by Bayona and I think you are going to love it
Loved that book, and the movie was great too🙂↕️
I cried at least three times due to stressing about the cat and then once at the end. Unusual for me but I enjoyed this movie much more than I thought I would. I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised! I liked that it was focused on the characters as opposed to just an alien invasion.
Cat(s) not CGI..but there was a few scenes with CGI was involved. Like when its chasing mouse for example. Great reaction yall! ❤
Patty's is definitely a real spot in harlem 117th n 3ave I believe on the Eastside pizza is amazing 👏🏿
Loved your reaction! Would love to see you guys watch Gran Turismo, its an awesome movie!
Please react to miss peregrines homes for peculiar children its a very unique movie with fantasy and much more to come 😊
ive never been so early 😂
To be honest I gave it a 3 out of 5 Answers it's not bad but the last two were solid 4s out of 5 Answers that's my opinion.
You guys have to watch Evil Dead Rise for Halloween
I think you guys would love The Legend of Vox Machina. Season 3 just started it.
Hey guys got a quick question. Not too sure if you guys were WWE buffs but are yall thinking about reacting to the Mr. McMahon documentary series on Netflix?
I watched at home. But for few hours afterwards I didn't make a sound to even walking my dog's.
Y’all should watch Vampire Diaries ur gonna love it
Hoping for Inside Out 2 soon🤞👀
I thought this was gonna be a French film, mostly cause of the Bird box sequel of modern horror movies
@BaddMedicine, will you show the Zootopia reaction on the RUclips channel?
Main Event YEET
The cat was the real villain.
I gave this one a 3. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but it wasn’t great. I wanted a lot more of an origin story than a character piece. But Lupita and Joseph both did amazing work, and their chemistry was exceptional. Love getting to watch it again with you 4, though!
Hey, you shut your mouth... You should give it 5 just because of the cat.
@@azazello1784 The cat is WHY IT GETS A 3. 😂
What kind of cat doesn't make noise
@@CharifRocka A service cat who's been trained from birth to be quiet, obedient, and helpful (like when the cat went to find help and brought Eric to Sam. That's a service animal behavior).
@@dlweissyeah, cats are known for their ability to be trained
This movie is so boring that the cat is literally the only redeeming quality it has
Day 7 asking y'all to please 🥺 watch "chronicle"
