He seems to be obsessed with the engine noise and CVT transmission. The IS300h is a great car and lovely to drive. If you want faster acceleration put it in sport mode, but I would guess that most owners rarely do this, I know I don't. Join the sheep and buy a German car if you are worried about the badge on the front, and don't mind being on first name terms with dealership's service department. If you want quality and reliability buy a Lexus.
I've never seen a car reviewer who liked CVT transmissions. But car reviewers tend to be petrolheads, people who are keen on the experience of driving itself. Not people who have a more utilitarian view of motoring. And they have to find something to moan about, it's part of the job 🤷♂️ I've watched a lot of car reviews; you just have to learn to take what's relevant from them to your needs and wants, and ignore all the nitpicking from people who talk about cars as if they became car reviewers because they couldn't cut it as racing drivers.
Once again: Toyota/Lexus eCVT does not use cones and bands but an arrangement of planetary gears, solenoids and other electrickery. Reportedly extremely reliable. Please dont be lazy - do your research...
I've learned from this single review more than from all other I'd seen, collectively. Great work. Thanks for this!
