A very nice review, the dynamics of the car is indeed surprising in a good way. One thing to note is that it has no gears, it's a CVT (that's why you feel it never finds the right gear).
got one from 2014 takumi or premium version, every option ticked off . everything works as it should . the speakers are fantastic 160k miles no problems ever one failed mot due to a seatbelt buckle being stuck underneath the seat cause of my dogs :D dirt cheap to run expect for insurance
This is very underrated car. Its a perfect daily driver truly. Very comfortable, reliable and overall very nice package. It also keeps its value much better than the competition.
Great video guys, just found your channel and subbed.I 've had my 300h nearly a year now, easily the nicest thing i've ever had.She is 9 years old and done over 100k,but been well maintained.and drives like new.I have the exec model which does not come with the Mark Levinson sound system, but i have no complaints.I think my girlfriend loves "Lexi'more than me,but is too frightened to drive her.The only annoying things are the fake sound, which you can turn off,and lack of a spare wheel, although i carry a space saver now,and cubby hole space and glovebox size not the best, but these are small issues, for what is truly an amazing car. When you are getting between 50 and 60 per gallon and 550 per tankful, what's not to like.?
It is a CVT (continuous variable transmition), therefore it does not have gears. When you accelerate (depending on how much throttle you push) it chooses the optimum revs for power or efficiency and then changes the transmition output infinitaly to adapt for gaining speed on the given situation. Imagine it has a 100 gears and just keeps shifting seemlesly. And the gear numbers are just for the show. They are lovely cars though :) liked the review aswell. If you like this try a Mercedes CLK, Might be surprised with the amount of features it had 20 years ago (look for a full spec one)
Free REIGN... I've got an Advance and I really don't know what you're on about! You don't like the exhuast note pumped though the speakers, which was put there to help the people who couldn't understand that electric motors haven't got an exhuast note, just find the ASC switch and turn it down/off! You're never in the right gear? It hasn't got gears, it's a CVT, just like my 2nd car, Subaru Outback 2.0 DTi and they are both brilliant! You could do with an extra two gears, dear lord! By the way, I used to have a BMW 732i and the is300h is a better ride, more comfortable, quiter, better MPG, 900 Miles on a full tank on a journey to Spain, the Beemer had better excelleration and a better top speed, which, like most people I used and abused about a dozen times in my four years of owning it! Of all things this review comes down to is the ICE. You say that you haven't got used to modern stuff, Jesus mate, I'm 64 and my first car was a (Look it up) Wolseley 1660, so move on!
I own one, also white. Love it. BUT. CVT is not suitable for cars or dynamic driving; any of its competitors with a manual or traditional automatic torque converter transmission will kill it in any road. Period.
PS I owned the old IS220d, manual transmission... if you want the opinion of an automotive product technician: overall it was a better product. Had 225 tyres in front but 245 tyres on the rear to control all of the torque. That kind of says it all... I would have DESTROYED any IS300h that happened to be around. Better materials on the inside, too. This is what happens when you want to sell a more technological product (hybrid) at the same price... you have to 'take' from somewhere. In the IS case, it was overall quality that was lowered. Having said all of this, I still prefer the IS over its competitors just because of the ICE reliability. But pisses me off when I try to go dynamic. Cheers mate, thanks for the review
@Alex4T_1981 LEXUS should never of put a diesel engine in the IS and never should have put a unsuited manual gearbox in it either. The IS250 auto was a much better car fantastic gearbox
Not a bad attempt at a review. But if you continue to do these,my advice to you is to learn more about the car you are reviewing, before you review. Lots of comments you make about this car, are incorrect. because you really don't know what you are talking about.
Thanks for your input Tony, We appreciate you, however this is a car we had lived with for a year so we got to know it pretty well. It was a bad attempt it was a fantastic effort 👍
Just turn off ASC switch under the dash, and You have nice and quiet Lexus.
He doesn't know that. Just reviewing the car. 😅😅😅😅

I own one and the brilliant to drive have the F sport model love it
It has 6 pre-set ratios not 6 gears. Given its a cvt it technically has infinite gears. Good video though

Underated indeed ^BA

Thanks for watching. Check out our Audi Q7 Review as well
THIS CAR DOESNT HAVE GEARS ITS A ECVT also the f sport has a digital Speedo and auto fold in mirrors
Is this a good town car to have? I mean save money on fuel due to it being a Hybrid? Please advise someone who has the 300h. Thanks folks
Yes it is, one of the best cars I've driven, Comfortable around town it's a dream however, it all depends on trim level
It doesnt even have gears 😂
Great review..
But it doesn't need 2 extra gears. Research on how this gearbox works. 🙏
✌🏿
Do your research, u can get a bigger 10in screen
You can at a cost, and the won't give ROI, what was said was this car didn't have it as standard 🤔

@@blitzchaserjzx100 why? Explain about why it should never had done that. When cornering it was better than the V6 (less weight in the front).
It's not available everywhere else bar the UK. Next!
Lexus IS 350 not this
200t but not this
why not?
