But if u actually compare the talent put into each kind of music, obviously legit bands win. Not only that, most old songs played by bands i know are more meaningful than most rap music i’ve listened to in terms of songwriting and lyrics. Nowadays i just kept hearing music about drugs, smoking, girls, and money (im not saying ALL of them are about those things). I was actually a hip hop head before, well that was until i listened to Metallica. 🤘
The entire "And Justice for All" album is full of emotion. It's the first studio album released after Cliff Burton's death. You can tell they poured their anguish and grief into this album. I have a bootleg album of theirs that is their first concert in Japan, I believe, after Cliff's death. Very strong, very fast. Very moving.
I read about in Guitar world magazine back in the 90s, googling around for it I could not find the specific name. Watch Kirk in the documentary "A Year and a half in the life of Metallica" when he is being pushed into figuring out the solo by Bob Rock. Pretty amazing moment caught on camera.

Trickyman95 I started learning Metallica songs on guitar with That Was Just Your Life. That entire album is underrated imo even if some of the mixing sucks
the album is definitly underrated, i started with the old music and i love it as much as death magnetic, but there is only a few ppl that even know the death magnetic songs it seems, e.g. the day that never comes-as soon as i play that main riff everyone falls in love with it, its just a masterpiece like all the other clean riffs from metallica :)
For me it kind of feels like reliving the first time you heard the song, the feeling you forget after a while. Like watching a great movie again with someone who hasn't seen it
Same here. For me I think it's his ability to break down the instruments, vocals and sometimes video and tie it together. He doesn't listen to it just to see if likes it or not, he seems to be empathic to it.
They do have Jason on bass. But, Lars had his bass "turned down so low you can't hear it, then, minus 5 decibels" It was all part of the initiation when he replaced Cliff.
Metallica----Fade to Black, Nothing Else Matters, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Unforgiven (l), (ll) & (lll), Enter Sandman, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Disposable Heros......I could go on and on, Lol.
Back in the day (early 90's) I remember hearing my brother learning this on guitar...by ear, he couldn't read tablature at that point in time. Once he learned the complete song, he'd hop to another. He's an amazing guitarist and taught my son who is now 21, both of em are shredders. Miss those days. ❤

All time favorite song for me too...only other song that competes is Ozzy's Crazy Train...otherwise no other band has touched their alien like intelligence levels...
Best reaction channel ever, hands DOWN!
SpencerK77 thank you so much ❤️❤️🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
word!
Hell yeah, proud to be a hefnerd!
No problem bro keep up the great work!
easily one of THE GREATEST METAL SONGS OF ALL TIME. love or hate metallica, nobody can deny they are absolute legends and pioneers of the genre.
Phil Pacific Pioneers, right... I guess Motorhead, Judas Priest, Venom, Diamondhead etc didn't exist. 😂
@@PsionicMonk true. cant argue they were the only pioneers. but i didnt say that.
Dude this was me..like 25 years ago..
this album came out 30 years ago late last month
Trivium- The Sin And The Sentence next!
This song is the best Metal song ever written....its perfect.
He says, "Now the world is gone, I'm just one." It's about being cut off from the world trapped in a prison that is your body. At that point you are truly singular.. "One"
Probably the best video clip ever.
That face when Kirk enters the last solo
Metallica - All nightmare long! first song i learned in full length on guitar and its so goood
Trickyman95 mine was The Four Horsemen
Trickyman95 I started learning Metallica songs on guitar with That Was Just Your Life. That entire album is underrated imo even if some of the mixing sucks
the album is definitly underrated, i started with the old music and i love it as much as death magnetic, but there is only a few ppl that even know the death magnetic songs it seems, e.g. the day that never comes-as soon as i play that main riff everyone falls in love with it, its just a masterpiece like all the other clean riffs from metallica :)
This song and Fade to Black remain my two absolute favorite Metallica songs.
i usually dont enjoy reaction stuff because i just dont enjoy it but i do very much like watching you lol. I dont really know why.
bc you like the music and you enjoy him liking that music
You are in love with him
For me it kind of feels like reliving the first time you heard the song, the feeling you forget after a while. Like watching a great movie again with someone who hasn't seen it
Same here. For me I think it's his ability to break down the instruments, vocals and sometimes video and tie it together. He doesn't listen to it just to see if likes it or not, he seems to be empathic to it.
Lol
And once you figure out your only hearing 3 instruments. Lead and rhythm guitars and drums. No bass guitar. THAT good on three instruments.
they have jason at bass. didn't you see him?
James' voice too is an instrument in its own right
They do have Jason on bass. But, Lars had his bass "turned down so low you can't hear it, then, minus 5 decibels" It was all part of the initiation when he replaced Cliff.

As an example
just have a look when Korn covered this song at the MTV Icon. That's amazing
My first metal song ever. Discovered it by accident when I was 8 years old. Since then I've been a devoted metalhead.
One and Nothing Else Matters, my most favourite songs
This song is just so powerful. Amazing to hear live!
This is the first Metallica Album I bought it.When it came out became Master Shredder shorty after.Still got the Mullet and the skills
PAINKILLER by JUDAS PRIEST
the definition of metal

Breaking the Law would be good too
That was my first metal album and I still blast it every now and then after all those years

Metallica - Enter Sandman it is a must
This is THE Metallica song that gives me goose bumps and makes me tear up every time I hear it. I wish they were still this awesome.
