Great to have you back mate, looking forward to the future content. Awesome build as always. Exciting times ahead as well with all the new CPUs and GPUs coming later this year. Thinking of doing a whole new build myself once all the new hotness releases, can't wait 👍
Great video I just have a few questions if you don’t mind. Are the top and rear fans exhaust or intake? Also i know you said the radiator (at the front) was an intake but I see you added 2 more fans on the other side of it(inside the case. Are those 2 extra fans in the bringing air into, or out of the case? (I think when you said push pull I need that in more simple terms) sorry for my lack of knowledge, I’m new to pcs.
The top and rear are exhaust mate. The fans at the front are set to intake. Fans outside case are pushing in the rad, and fans inside on the rad are pulling air (both set as intake) just push air and pulling air so you can get more airflow and therefore cooler temps
hello their, just wanted too ask i bought a deepcool ag400 heatsink fan for asus b550 tuf wifi board (UPGRADE) and it stands up rather than lays flat, making it stick out 6" from the board too the side panel but their isnt enough space for the side panel to go on ,if you could tell me i would like too know what the size is from the motherboard out ward too the side panel on the corsair 4000x,or WHAT is the measurement of the roof (INSIDE )WIDTH ways of the case,im just trying too buy a new case without buying the wrong one,ive already done that with the heatsink, massive it is 6" square....jaw droppingly BIG. thanks for your time....
Good day mate. I have the same 4000x case and still a bit confuse on either to install H150i in front with 2 extra fans on the rad or H115i on top. Any tips would be appreciated, great video as always. Greeting from Canada !!
Thanks mate and appreciate you watching - I would opt for h115 at top as exhaust looks better - will have slightly higher temps 4c so not bad BUT if you already have the h150 at the front will also work great 👍
Amazing video-doing a very similar build with the same case and AIO. This was really helpful; just wondering if you used the same screws for the fans when you reconfigured the front fans to 4, 5, and 6 for exhaust. Are the screws supposed to be self-tapping? Just want to make sure before I force the screws through the fans. Thanks again for awesome content!
Building a rig in the next week or so like this but in the (technically) new 4000d RGB airflow, can't wait! This has given me a great idea on how to go about setting up the commander core, thanks!
@@rodolfotsang4327 wanted the extra airflow, and it comes with the newer AF120 fans that match those on the AIO I am buying. Plus, if I ever want the glass front you can buy it from Corsair alone for $20.
@@rodolfotsang4327 yeah it still has airflow, not as great but it isn't horrible. If you do run into issues you can also buy the airflow panel from Corsair; they are interchangeable.
I am getting an Asus ROG Strix Z690-E Motherboard and I am so confused about the SSD configuration. Is there a huge benefit to getting a 980 Samsung 500GB M.2 4.0 NVMe drive for windows 11 only? I am also planning on getting a 2TB M.2 4.0 NMVe drive for all of my other game/application storage. Is that the correct way to configure it? NVMe for both storages? Also, I saw that slotting in the first slot for this board halves the speed (x8 instead of x16). I wanted to see if you knew anything about that. Thanks for everything!
Hi Vyrukk z690 e is a great board mate and good choice 👍 personally I would now only stick with nvme drives as much as possible. Especially for operating system and especially where data transfer is crucial. U don't necessarily need a 4.0 2tb drive as load times are very simular for games as pcie 3.0 but it cost don't play a factor then go for it. Windows on top slot and then 2nd drive goes into next available slot down mate and x8 is still much faster than pcie 4.0 so it's fine 🙂 hope this helps and good luck with the build 👍
@@TechCheckUK Thank you so much!! The only other question I have is about cooling. Does the i9 12900k NEED the 3 fan Corsair cooler (iCUE H150i Elite Capellix)? Or can I use the H100i Elite Capelliix in the 4000x case? So confused about this. I want to use the 4000x case with a top mounted radiator, but I’m hearing maybe the H100i won’t be able to cool the i9 12900k.. I’m not wanting to overclock or anything
Hey guys quick question, I'm planning on a build with the same sorta set up with the front mounted rad but just wondering if it naye be better you have the rear fan as an intake instead of an exhaust? Cheers
No mate rear fan always as exhaust as you will be pushing air from front and exiting at top and rear. Always intake bottom or front or side and exhaust at top or rear. Regards
I've got this case. Any idea why my fans are spinning but the rgb don't light up. They show up in icue software.. has power and the controller plugged in to the power supplier and the USB2 header. I see you removed it on this build.
You know the screws that you used for everything do they come with the parts or do i have buy them separately (if separately plz tell me the name of the screws)
Hey mate! thanks for this video, i was all lost since my cpu cooler didnt fit on the top, so this saved me. Can I use the fans from the front on the top/back of the pc?
Just got this case. This channel is awesome. Very informative, clean presentation, high quality video. You deserve many many more subs and views. Keep up the great work!
Exactly the same issues as I had in my 4000X thinking about push/pull on the 360mm elite capellix with my RX6700XT. I hope the 3090 isn't much longer than the 3070 lol.
Yeah with the gpus getting bigger and bigger the mid tower cases not compensating it's hard especially with the odd shapes of the shrouds on the gaming x trio - change to pcie 4 riser cable will sort all the issues if needed but I personally think its too close to the glass.
My build uses this same case and AIO, and AIO position with the fans in front. My CPU goes between 48C and 64C, and that seems hot to me. Is there anything I can tweak?
I did basically the same build a year and a bit ago, the case doesn't work very well with the vertically mounted GPU anyway, my ROG 3070 overheats so i have to leave the side panel off :/ i almost ripped my mobo in 2 trying to put the thing on it originally, so i had to use the gen 4 extender from corsair :P

Nice build and good parts choices can't go wrong! Do u stream or edit? Just thing of that when choosing a amd gpu as will make a difference mate especially encoder nvenc for example. But the pure rasterization power is amazing 👏
We went 30cms but that was 5000d, 20 should be fine as its much smaller and the beauty about amazon is that if its wrong just exchange for a 30cm one just make sure you try and keep all packaging neat and tidy
U can just use the commander pro as a fan hub and have one control and less cables attached to fan headers and less clutter mate. Its not essential at all if your looking to save 50 quid. The best way is to get a 240mm or 360mm elite capellix and it comes with commander core that can do pwm and rgb.
All depends on your power settings in additional settings on power maintenance mate 👍 I always have it set to restart Windows. That way no caching of ram and full reset.
Oh dear that's incorrect as long as the pump is lower than the inlet so that any air will be be trapped at the top of the rad its fine! Please don't Reference Steve's video.

4070ti.should fit - I had a 360 aio at the front of the case - tbh it's best to have a 240 at the top and then it gives u loads more room for longer gpus
@@TechCheckUK Thankfully it did fit with plenty of space. I got the MSI gaming trio and the only thing I hated about installing it was the anti sag bracket. Other than that everything is put together and running beautifully
You can only do a push pull with 2 x fans in pull if the GPU is vertically mounted and only 1 x fan if horizontally mounted - just not enough room for all 3 - hope this helps

To eliminate any issues yes use gen4 riser not gen3 - the issue was that the mobo supports gen 5 and the card supports gen4 but the riser was gen3 and we were not getting and picture out even if I changes the pcie settings to gen3. As soon as we changed to gen4 on the riser a few weeks later all worked perfectly. Hope this helped

Like man just put it together tell me this is what I’m putting in and this is how u do it, and don’t do this do it like this
Where do you plug it in? Or why do I play on harddrive? 1- hard drives require a sata data and sata power cable. One comes from psu and the other goes from hard drive to sata connection on mobo. 2- I would only ever use hard drives for pics or large volume storage tbh Hope that helps or at least answers your question

@@TechCheckUK Thanks for the quick response! Just ordered everything. If it doesnt fit i'll switch to 100i Elite LCD top mounted aio. Do you think that will be enough to cool an i7 13700k in the 400x rgb case? thanks!
@Bram H 100% mate 13700 not that bad it's the i9s that are really hot 😳 good luck 👍
Muchly enjoyed! the content. Great problem solving indeed! it surely is a great skill to have. Quick question thou.. Did you keep the default CPU and case fan curves or do you use custom curves?. Great Vid, Cheers - Jass.
I always set the curves myself as when not under load I like the peace and quiet 😌 thanks for commenting and good luck with your build 👍
Great to have you back mate, looking forward to the future content.
Awesome build as always. Exciting times ahead as well with all the new CPUs and GPUs coming later this year.
Thinking of doing a whole new build myself once all the new hotness releases, can't wait 👍
Mate I'm so excited x670 /4090 I'll be doing the same thing! Thanks so much as always 👍
Okay thanks so much, great video and great channel
Much appreciated 🙏
Do you need to have the push pull config with the extra fans in the front of the case? Curious as I’m doing a similar build. Great vid!
Oh I see now that you have removed them! Nvm
Thanks for watching Michael and good luck with the build 👍
Nice build, but do i really need to have a fan(s) at the back of the pc?
No U dont need one but it will perform better if there is one mate
hello their, just wanted too ask i bought a deepcool ag400 heatsink fan
for asus b550 tuf wifi board (UPGRADE) and it stands up rather than lays flat, making it stick out 6" from the board too the side panel but their isnt enough space for the side panel to go on ,if you could tell me i would like too know what the size is from the motherboard out ward too the side panel on the corsair 4000x,or WHAT is the measurement of the roof (INSIDE )WIDTH ways of the case,im just trying too buy a new case without buying the wrong one,ive already done that with the heatsink, massive it is 6" square....jaw droppingly BIG. thanks for your time....
Hi mate sorry for late reply - clearance in 4000x is 170mm for tower coolers
Good day mate. I have the same 4000x case and still a bit confuse on either to install H150i in front with 2 extra fans on the rad or H115i on top. Any tips would be appreciated, great video as always. Greeting from Canada !!
Thanks mate and appreciate you watching - I would opt for h115 at top as exhaust looks better - will have slightly higher temps 4c so not bad BUT if you already have the h150 at the front will also work great 👍
@@TechCheckUK No I have yet not purchase any AIO, but I'll take your advice and go high. Thanks for your help, I appreciated !!
More than welcome and appreciate the support and good luck 👍
Amazing video-doing a very similar build with the same case and AIO. This was really helpful; just wondering if you used the same screws for the fans when you reconfigured the front fans to 4, 5, and 6 for exhaust. Are the screws supposed to be self-tapping? Just want to make sure before I force the screws through the fans. Thanks again for awesome content!
Thanks Nicholas yeah same screws. Glad you liked and good luck on the build 👍
Building a rig in the next week or so like this but in the (technically) new 4000d RGB airflow, can't wait! This has given me a great idea on how to go about setting up the commander core, thanks!

Why not 4000x?
@@rodolfotsang4327 wanted the extra airflow, and it comes with the newer AF120 fans that match those on the AIO I am buying. Plus, if I ever want the glass front you can buy it from Corsair alone for $20.
@@JenjarplaysMC the 4000x front have glass to see better the rgb, i bought the 4000x does it have airflow?? I'm worry it will get heat
Yes you can mate the h150 will be cooler but it wouldn't be a huge difference mate especially if your not overclocking.
Regards
video was a life saver. thank you so much.
No problem mate glad it could help 👍 thanks 4 watching I appreciate it

Nice build Gareth 👍👍 Vertical mounting is great if your not too close to the glass 😁
Totally agree Ian - always looks cool but no good if temps are gunna be through the roof.
I've got this case. Any idea why my fans are spinning but the rgb don't light up. They show up in icue software.. has power and the controller plugged in to the power supplier and the USB2 header. I see you removed it on this build.
Solved
As long as power to hubs via sata and then via usb2 to mobo all should be working mate. I removed it as there was a easier way to do it
@spoony4312 nice 👌
all of the fans are ml120 elites right? and I'm going to get the same exact gpu, will it fit if i put it horizontally if the aio is above?
Yeah all ml120s and yeah no probs at all with horizontally mounting gpu and aio above

Quick question, can you actually still fit at least one 120mm at the top? It feels like it can still can.
Yeah u can mate
My build uses this same case and AIO, and AIO position with the fans in front. My CPU goes between 48C and 64C, and that seems hot to me. Is there anything I can tweak?
Personally I would check your aio and ensure its seated correctly on cpu at idle should be less than 40c deffo - could just need tightening down mate
That is a really great video! New subscriber and notifcations activated so that I don't miss your videos.

Hi again, is pcie riser 200mm enough for corsair 4000X ?
We went 30cms but that was 5000d, 20 should be fine as its much smaller and the beauty about amazon is that if its wrong just exchange for a 30cm one just make sure you try and keep all packaging neat and tidy
@@TechCheckUK thank you bro…😊

The 4000x itself comes with an RGB controller right, why still commander pro? any added advantages besides single hub?
U can just use the commander pro as a fan hub and have one control and less cables attached to fan headers and less clutter mate. Its not essential at all if your looking to save 50 quid. The best way is to get a 240mm or 360mm elite capellix and it comes with commander core that can do pwm and rgb.
What reset button does.😮 does it restart pc or reset windows?
All depends on your power settings in additional settings on power maintenance mate 👍 I always have it set to restart Windows. That way no caching of ram and full reset.

@sergiomm95 9700k will be causing a slight bottleneck yes with 3070 but it's not anything to worry about tbh
The orientation of the radiator is wrong, the pipes should go from bottom up to the pump.
