No need for apologizes, good video. For all the guys throwing rocks at the other shop, they may not have any diagnosis techs, maybe it's a tire place ect. I've learned in 40yrs that for every 1 tech like Eric that really understands electronics, there's 50 guys who can do good brake jobs. It's why he stands out in the crowd and we all watch.
Better than the class. Class mostly taught theory which is pretty much the same thing. This actually has a professional doing the mechanical part so you can watch how to do it and what tools work. Something school doesn't have enough time for sometimes. I'd say taking class and watching these videos afterwards really helps with learning
What a difference between the two shops, one starts replacing components until they give up, the other actually uses the right tools (and more than a little smarts) and has the fault identified in an hour. If I was a local I know which shop I would use.
@6:49 of the vid after taking the covers off the ECM I think he says "four hours later" not sure if he was joking or not but I'm sure it wasn't easy or quick. Important thing is he found the cause.

Eric , never apologize for making the best auto videos on the internet! . I think this video shows everyone that you personally don't need the big shop an all the fancy tools . keep up the videos !!

It's the real world video..sometimes you breakdown in the middle of nowhere..no lifts, lites, fancy tools..trying to pin point what problem is..love it
Eric I dont know why you were apologizing during this video. This was your 'finest hour' and one of your best videos. Thank you!! God bless you Eric O. Paul

Your videos always seem to teach me a new way of diagnosing. I enjoy hearing you thought process and you do a awesome job explaining. keep up the good knowledge
Good 'field work'. One can be very creative with limited resources in remote places. This reminds me of troubleshooting in Yukon Territory & in Alaska (>10 y) when a teen. Once, when the distributor (plastic) rotor cracked into two pieces, Dad held the two halves in place with a large rubber band (from my sister's hair) wrapped a few times. We drove a couple hundred miles to Whitehorse--the next town of any size--where we were able to buy a new rotor. 'Field work' can introduce new excitement into life. Thanks for your good work, Mr. O.
Every time i watch your videos i think i need more tools. But it is actually the experience and knowledge that makes the difference. Therein lies the problem, you can not get that in a snap on catalog.
Always glad to hear that the DYI Guys get a little respect for the awkward working conditions. It is so nice to have a dedicated work space with ground clearance. Needed the trusty BREAK CLEAN to check wire co;ours (LOL). Keep up the great videos.

I liked your comment about not having a lift and crawling down under. It sucks, especially when you have to get tools. That's why I don't work much on my stuff anymore. It would have been fun to see why cyl 6 and 8 were misfiring.
