- It was an all-girls cruise vacation aboard the Carnival Liberty when disaster struck. Samantha Broberg, 33, climbed a rail on a 10th-floor deck around 2 a.m. while the ship was sailing in the Gulf of Mexico. The ship's thermal imaging camera captured the moment when she suddenly fell backwards and plunged into the water. Her body was never found. Back home in Arlington, Texas, Broberg’s daughters still fight back tears remembering their mom, more than two years after the accident. #InsideEdition

Drunk af perhaps. And reportedly so was she. My guess is they both went outside for a passionate make out session, he pressed her against the edge, she fell, he could not realize what had just happened or was too out of if to react appropriately and walked away.

It was make grieving her death a LOT easier. It reminds me of my friend stacy who was devastated when her BF got killed in a snowmobile accident, couple days later she went through his phone and found out he was cheating on her the entire time. Let’s just say it didn’t take her long to “move on” after that xD

It's hard to really see what's in that weird footage ; it's possible he may have even pushed her over without hardly moving or exerting any effort.... the guy should have gotten prosecuted .
How could anybody get away with seeing somebody right in front of them supposedly falling over and then you don't report it for 15 hours.... come on they should have held the guy and he should have gone to jail and he should have gone to court .

If you've ever taken a cruise, then you know it's virtually impossible to just "fall off" a cruise ship. Either you were thrown off, jumped off, or doing something stupid like climbing over a railing.

There's a law that says the establishment holds a certain amount of liability if they knowingly over serve a guest and that person ends up dead or injured or hurts somebody else, which is a good thing, because if they can't get sued for doing it then they'll over serve everybody just for the money and wayyy more deaths would happen.
Anyone who can consume 16 drinks plus, obviously has a drinking problem prior to the revelation of her going overboard. The real problem here is not that she went overboard, but the causation contributing to her demise, which is alcohol related issues. No one wants to be a baby sitter to another person, who paid $$ to go on a vacation cruise. Her husband is responsible for her safety, and he should not blame the staff. He should have been with her on the cruise, he is the one who would knows her history.

I think they have a certain duty of care though. You can't serve 20 odd drinks to someone and expect them to know what they're doing. They should have refused to serve her once they realised how badly intoxicated she was becoming.

I just got my ABC serving certification, one of the top server rules is NEVER serve an already intoxicated person. It's also just common sense. Money is NEVER a reason to jeopardize someone's life and safety.

Maybe they should have escorted her back to her room and been good friends who would have tucked her into her bed and made sure she was safe . Believe it or not good friends would actually do that
The two should have stayed with the third to make sure of her safety. I just don't understand how friends just leave their friends when drinking. I would never, when me and my friend used to go out, we stuck by one another and always left together. My God, she was being irresponsible as well. I hate to say that but she was married with children, ugh. The least all 3 could have done was plan ahead of leaving together. So tragic!
